You will catch a lot more juice with a Wagi antenna shape. And Aluminium will conduct just as well as copper.

Hi, does the wire need to be cut a certain length to work? sacred measurements?

What gauge copper wire are you using?

I used 14ga in that video to make that coil, but you should be able to use 12ga.
