I work in fields Corner Dorchester. Recently I’ve seen a bunch of hipsters seeping through the cracks. Dorchester, Roxbury, Chelsea used to be a war zone, but in the 21st century, crime has went down for sure. I don’t know about gentrification though, it seems mostly the white projects have been turned into High rise condos. Southie, East Boston, Charlestown all are developed now. I still think all of the neighborhoods that are made up mostly by minorities are not “gentrified”, just there’s no longer as much crime. Just take the redline down to ashmont and look out the window to see the burnt down triple deckers, I don’t think that counts as gentrification. I agree with you guys about it not being Ground zero and I’m not dissing you in any way, but it’s gonna be a while until the yuppies are buying out apartments on blue hill ave.
