Years ago, not to say decades ago, I was watching "This Old House" on PBS ( Public Broadcasting System) in the USA ans they wer highlighting some solar panels that needed little or no direct sunlight. They were in the State of Washington (way up on the Western coast next to Canada) where there is little sun and allot of rain. These panel although they had a very similar aspect, were marvelous. They had barely installed them when they turned on the tap and had hot water. I cannot tell you more, but if you do some research I am sure you will find them. Maybe too late now that you have already bought your sun panels (although Maybe you can sell them) and replace them with these new improved one that will make your life far more paletable 😄
Hi Guys. Great video again. As for the solar panels, if you are running dc voltage to an inverter in some cases of setup (i have no idea what your setup is) any shading on one panel will lower the amount of watts being produced of all the panels to that lowest level. So if possible get the panels in an area that has absolutly no shade even on a small corner as that will/can effect the whole string/array depending on the setup.
Good job guys, coming along!, with the roof paint if you want to make it tougher, i have used fibre glass tissue, put on while first layer is still wet, can be stappled, and then a good thick coat over the top.. goes almost like rubberised glass fibre.. and with Solar it is an idea to have more panels than you need, if they only produce half the power on a cloudy day, you need twice the number of panels.. and a good dump load.. it is something im designing and studying right now! for a small dome, six used ex solar farm panels grade B are super cheap and have many years left in them.. Victron MPPT 100/50.. 48v battery bank, and Victron inverter 48/2600 that with provide mains voltage peak 4000 watt for a short time, motor start up, Victon MPPT can take lower voltages and turn it into charge for higher voltage batteries, i.e in the morning or really bad day, panels may only produce 24volts until in more sun, but this 24v will charge the battery.. even though they are 48v.. good luck with it all..
The veranda will be your best friend .. finally you will have a place to sit in all weather. The colour is fine, let’s face it, the solar panels will cover it soon. Please hug those terrible hole diggers for me.. I want to reach out an pat them every video🤪 Love to you all💕💕💕💕🐨
We love it so much already! Looking forward to the first rainy day so we can go and sit under it :) oh don't worry, they're getting a million hugs. When editing and watching Frankie walk past and I didn't stroke her I had to then go and sit and give her a big cuddle 🤣 lots of love to you Lorraine, hope the summer is being gentle with you xx
Can I just say love these videos, Also you might want to put your trim under the roof sheets on the edge that the water runs of otherwise you will have water ingress, good luck guys.
Well done good foggy team effort it’s beginning to come together nicely & the colour dried to a good shade 👍 The beautiful garden filming with good musical choices was very entertaining If you have fox poo issues again with little power for showering a good tip given to me by an old NORFOLK farmer ( my fox terrier was a fox poo addict ) to rid the smell is to rub in some tomato ketchup ( cheap brands ) & leave to dry neutralises the stink till you can shampoo Diago will have a matching stain on a tri colour terrier it looked funny but it worked see you next time 💙💜
Keep on buddys keep on the spirit in free live, live is? But the 2 of you,i now go there whit the lovely animals thats the spirit,go on 😂 lovely people 🎉
Love to watch guys. You are an inspiration 😊 Do the planes concern you at all? I'm seeing a lot of planes flying over, leaving contrails, some might say chemtrails, it's the same here in the UK. We have been in a whiteout of clouds most of this year. Have you noticed crops failing this year? Less bees. Does it concern you at all? Have you noticed how different the weather has been this year in particular? Have you noticed how the contrails spread out? Is this something on your radar? X
I actually studied the weather in university as I wanted to work in the met office, I can assure you that they’re not anything new or unusual, the only reason you see more of them is because of how many planes are in the sky nowadays. They may well be having an adverse affect on the weather though. The lack of bees is down to pesticides in your area, you’ll notice the lack of wildlife in hedgerows etc in your area also, we’re lucky to have hundreds of different bee and insect species here. No crops failing either, other than the grapes but that was a fungal infection so definitely nothing to do with aeroplanes.
You already know this - 2 is 1; 1 is none. A second generator needs to get on the purchase list. Too many Grey days take a toll on your backup....and it is a NEED....and only fails during Grey weather.
*SO* sorry it ended! Very enjoyable as always. I'd love to see & hear about your solar panels that you intend to use - I think you said last week that you have a hotch-potch of various panels about the place ... I'd like to see everyone that watches chip in to buy you the best solar panels you can fit on your new roof so that *(HOPEFULLY)* you have enough power to get you through a cloudy week or six in winter - and all the cables, inverters, Lithium batteries etc. Personally, I think petrol generators are horribly noisy and probably unpleasant in such an otherwise quiet and idyllic place.
It’s remarkable how much cheaper the panels are nowadays, when we first moved, a 150w panel was €150, now a 450/550w panel is €75! Agreed on the petrol generator!
why do you guys not have a back up generator incase it breaks down then all you need to do is switch to the back up . and for times like when one does break down and it needs to go for repair it could take a week to sort let's say it needs a specific part that the place you have it in to be fixed and they do not have a replacment part ..and wont get it for a week?
Another blissful start to my weekend. Thank you for sharing and it's all looking so good. Im also on the market for a vacuum cleaner, so thank you for the link :)
Thank you both for 40 minutes of peace, calm and tranquility. Absolutely love watching your life unfold.

Hi guys, your dogs and cats are pretty good. I thought they would run over the wet paint.😊

Bom dia bom dia Carissa and Iwan. What a fantastic start to the vlog. I’m working so I’ll not be able to watch until after 9pm. ❤️🍷🥃xxx
Bom dia Jimmy! No worries, see you later! ❤️
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Nice to look at your living, but one thing I've noticed so many times: the cats are waiting for cuddles, but you prefer to pet dogs...
I promise you they get more than their fair share of cuddles! 🐈⬛🐈
💑
Ups ..Alby...
