  • When SRP drops the water levels at the lower salt river in the winter time, it opens up a lot of the river to hiking and wading and is the perfect time to hike and wade for some good bass fishing. Winter fishing can be a bit tough at times, but it can be great at times too.

    I was at the bridge today and there was a 3 or 4 lb bass in the shallow! I think it was feasting on the little trout.

    Dude you have to hit the rocks down river of bridge. Deep pool and where it goes shallow always has a school. Largest ones I’ve caught come from that spot.

    • @GOALFishing
      @GOALFishing  2 года назад

      @Brad Distler I’ll have to try it out. I don’t usually go by the bridge just because of how many people can be there and how often it gets hit. But I’ll have to try a weekday when there’s fewer people.

    • @GOALFishing

      @Spencer Davis I’ve never tried one, but it is a lot like a fluke which works well for the bass. You’ll have to give it a try and let me know how you do.

    Love your videos! Question for you
    In your experience - would you recommend using 5'6" rods for casting / spinning or 6'+ rods on the lower salt river?
    Thanks for any info. Cant wait to get out there myself

    • @GOALFishing
      @GOALFishing  2 года назад +1

      @jb I say it comes down to your personal preference and what lures you’ll be using. I like a 6’ 10” Medium spinning rod for the jerk bait. With the bait caster I’m usually using a 7’ medium heavy

      are 6lb or 8lb leaders just right or overkill?

    • @GOALFishing

      @@jbreezy93. those are fine. I actually use 10lb fluorocarbon leaders most of the time unless the fish are being finicky.

    • @GOALFishing

      @p374376 it’s not reservation. There are parts of the river where one side is reservation, but as long as you stay on the south side in that section you’re fine.
