Very difficult indeed. I was hardly breathing, almost waiting / hoping for the cavalry to arrive and charge ! But as Fran said, the orcas also had a baby.
Some people just want to see the Walt Disney’s cute version of life... but they tend to forget Bambi lost his mother at a very young age, in a brutal way.
The circle of life... and eating only vegetables because one « respects Life » is full of nonsense to me ! We are part of Nature, part of the food chain... Respecting what we eat is the best thing can do -in my opinion.
NOT lecturing anyone ; just sharing my point of view
Yes, it was hard to watch preying upon the most vulnerable. It is the way it is. I question whether the third calf, or escort..whichever one was bleeding, survived. Seems they'd both be Orca and shark bait. Mom and baby. It was hard to watch. To become more educated and see something that is actually real, this footage was important to watch.

Yup, really shows the brutality of the orcas. Seriously great footage, maybe they can even sell it to those nature shows. Seems like there's quite a bit that they cut out.
Yeah was incredible footage. Really showed the speed the orca come in with when they blindside the calf and it's mother. Tragic but amazing.

I was talking about this channel the other day to some friends, and one asked "Would you still watch if Fran wasn't on it anymore?" I replied "Probably not." But then I added, "I'd probably not watch it if Jack left." The point was that it needs both of you for the differing things you bring to the channel. One of my favourite channels and I've been with you a very long time, because of you both. Just so you know.
Guys, with all the fun that it is to see you travel, and spearfish, and catch crayfish, and cook, and sink boats, and get new ones, and on and on… I don’t think you’re ever gonna top this! Insane!

That’s by far the most insane orca footage I’ve seen, holy crap! It must have been so intense watching the orcas hunt and it’s so impressive the humpback learn techniques to protect the babies from the attacks. So cool!

The most amazing whale video I have ever seen, and then the footage of the Orcas preying on the whale's calf was mother nature at her finest. A BRUTAL watch, but that's mother nature..... she is BRUTAL AND MAJESTIC at the same time. I believe this is your best video to date....just amazing. No wonder there was in excess of 1.4 M views. Probably much more in the coming days when word gets out. Thanks for sharing guys, such a learning experience.

Hey guys, that was once in a lifetime footage you managed to capture. Such a rarity to witness the untamed ferocity of Orcas in the wild. After they killed 2 simply for their tongues, I was definitely rooting for the third baby. There's a difference between killing for sport and killing out of necessity, even if they're just teaching their baby to hunt

Had a few similar really sus dives there, far out though, that Orca footage was insane though! What an epic scene to stumble upon! Cheers legends! That was next level, I would have been so nervous landing the drone after getting that shot, like please tell me we pressed record and don't crash this thing 😂 Reckon, that's gotta be the wildest drone footage I've seen in a long time, It's epic work guys! so sad but so awesome at the same time!
Definitely some of the best west coast orca footage to date, west coast salt filmed them a few weeks early at dirk hartog island doing the same, local west coast fisherman have know about the orca pod for some decades now being seen from rottnest to ningaloo. More commonly seen at Ningaloo as the continental shelf is so close to the coast there, either way its an extremely rare sight. But hey, just another day for WA.

You can really see how Strick n' Fran love and respect the Natural world and all it can teach us.
Those young whales that didn't make it will feed a good portion of the reefs ecosystem, demonstrating how Life and Death work together, and how nothing is wasted. The young whales that survive will pass along their genes and that 'circle your wagons' method their mother taught them.
The threat of death is an inspiration to grow and thrive. It's a mistake to 'anthropomorphize' nature...its a beautiful but distant part of 'Our' world.
We can only look at it's reality in awe, and hopefully...at a respectful distance.
