GREENWAY of the SIERRA · Puerto Serrano - Olvera

The Vía Verde de la Sierra is a comfortable itinerary full of attractions between Puerto Serrano and Olvera.
As we travel along an old railway route, now conditioned for recreational use, we can enjoy its nearly 30 tunnels, 4 viaducts and several train stations restored for the hospitality industry.
Its length, one way, will be 36.5 kilometers between landscapes of small mountains that are dotted with agricultural and livestock plots. Starting the route from Puerto Serrano the trend will always be a gentle climb to Olvera.
Sailing parallel to us, we will see the Guadalete and Guadalporcún rivers, the latter sandwiched between the Peñón de Zaframagón canyon, where one of the largest reserves of griffon vultures in all of Europe is located.
Another natural landmark of interest is found in Chaparro de la Vega, a centuries-old oak of great size.
For its part, arriving at the Olvera Station allows us to contemplate the Pruna Castle and the Sierra del Tablón to the north. Precisely in this mountain range is the roof of Seville, Pico el Terril, 1,127 meters high and which we had the opportunity to climb in the following video:
