Clifton, just wanted to say that I just joined Spotify and to much delight you were on there. Thanks for putting your music out there in the world my friend! Your fellow banjoist, Thomas P.
OLD TIME!!!You do it BEST, Clifton!!!!
Damn, that banjer sounds sweet!
Thanks for sharing. I do love the sound of nylon strings.
Love your shine hide 😂😂😂❤😊😊😊😊
That's cool as hell, and that head looks great.
Hey great video! I’d love to hear you play old smoky again sometime soon. Just found out about that f#ADAD tuning and it’s a hell of time to play in
Well used, but lovely old banjo, lovely sound, and perfectly played, as usual ....
Thanks från Sweden,love oldtime banjo.....
You did a good job with that one. Especially the gluing of the cracks in the rim.
I love the way these old banjos have that plucky sound and don't resonate too much! Good work soldier!😊
Merry Christmas Clifton to you and all your family love the channel
A before/after woulda been sweet
👍🏽
Thanks for sharing partner! I was watching that one on eBay but didn’t bid because it looked so odd. I couldn’t tell if it was the real deal or like you say...circa 1950’s. It went for a very respectable price none-the-less.
Yes, an unusually hard banjo to date. The hardware and rim struck me as older than the neck at first, but upon disassembly it appeared that the neck & pot were built together. Most odd. I think the whole thing may have been refinished when the modern repairs were done, which threw me off.
Interesting to see pine, that's a cool old banjo. Sounds really cool.
Lovely sounding instrument and great resto. I swear I was waiting for you to say it was the original head... that replacement looks great, Did you stain it or did that tiger stripe pattern come with the head? Although I gotta say, I'd be terrified of picking up and putting that banjo down. I think one absent minded bump and it would be all tears and regret.
I always add a _little_ walnut juice to each hide soak which lends a slight amber tint to them if done right.
Cool. I actually wondered if you had used your own walnut juice stain, but didn't think it would take on the modern head. It looks legit old.
What was the song you played in the intro
What tuning are you in?
D tuning
