    The most timeless BMW of all time. I should have bought one when I was looking 9 years ago, almost pulled the trigger but didn’t do it, always think about the deal I missed out on 😢

      Sorry to hear, prices have gone crazy but still worth it if you can get a good one

    Had mine for just over 10yrs and now looking to move on to the next car….99% decided on an Aston Martin Vantage 4.3 V8…but I’ll miss my M3 loads

    I’ve had a few 996’s and want another, but this is a good alternate. I think the 911 is a bit more of a special driving experience, where the M3 is a bit more fun.

      I agree with you assessment. Everyone should own both at some point.

    By far the best BMW I’ve ever owned and currently own, Ever!!. I brought my first E46 M3 (A “low mileage” 2003 LSB 6mt convertible) back in 2014. Unfortunately that car was to totaled in 2016 and I kept it as a parts car until I found another (low mileage 2003 LSB convertible 6mt with even lower mileage than the previous one) now that car has been in my stable and kept in perfect condition and close to my heart as the best BMW I’ve every owned in my lifetime. I may pick up another E46 in the future IF I can source me another low mileage LSB 6mt in a coupe this time.

    I drove a 2001 LSB e46 M3 daily and on the track for 11 years and loved it..sold it with 130K miles. Wish I still had it...

    What’s the verdict on getting a convertible with a hardtop? I see many that seem like a good deal but that 3,6xx curb weight 😮

      I haven't driven the M3 vert in a long time. It definitely did not drive as well as the coupe. Its more of a cruiser.

      Verts are fun. They hang the tail out and are progressive + controllable. If you’re not going 7-8/10s +, you should be fine. They will not hold the premium coupes will. If you want something to thrash, I think vert is the way especially since they are still so cheap.

      I’ve tracked mine a good few times, they are easily capable (although mines got the SME rear brace and different shocks etc) if your not chasing track times and just wanna have fun in a car that is more capable than most people can drive then they can be just as much fun and just as quick round a track as a coupe.

      Vanos gets clunky, bushes will need doing. CSL intake is expensive but worth it 🔥

    Hi Glenn,
    Which model year is the best to buy?

    • @GlennsCarCollection
      @GlennsCarCollection  7 месяцев назад +2

      Model years were 2001-2006. 01-03 had rod bearing recalls. Model years 2003.5 - 2006 had better bearings so no recall. Since they are 20 yr old cars now, I would be more inclined to buy a highly maintained car and not worry about model years.
