Stavesacre, Blindside, Chevelle, Plankeye, Bleach, Slick Shoes, Grammatrain, East West - if you know who any of these bands are, you might be a product of the 90's.
The 90s ruled. Everything that came after the turn of the century ushered in by the sounds of Britney Spears and modern pop rap was just the tip of the floating pile of garbage that helped shape millennials.
This song takes on a new life of its own in the 2020s when so many NPC zombies are milling around. I had no idea that's what he was talking about in the year 2000, but that's definitely what it is.
This is a drastically underrated band. Each album is an experience in itself. I've never enjoyed myself more listening through an album more than I have with their library. And JaredtheBass, I loved Rival Factions. That was my first album of theirs and it absolutely hooked me on their sound.
Gotta say it puts a smile on my face when this song comes on in the car and my 6 year old yells for me to crank it up. Saw them live a few years back. Had to be one of the best live performances I have ever seen in person. Awesome group!
Most people probably don't think a Christian band and song could get you so jacked up and ready to move. One of the best things about them. 🖤Favorite P86 song.
I stumbled 9nto you guys about 2 weeks ago, I still cant remember how, maybe Spotify. I cant get enough of your music. It's taken me back to having a constant metal vibe in my earbuds daily. I've listened to you almost exclusively for the last 2 weeks discovering your sound. I'm a NEW HOOKED FAN
So glad you found these guys so recently! I've been listening since I was like 14 (22 years). They're seriously underrated. Great messages, too! Enjoy!
No hay en Costa Rica alguien como yo, aun hoy en 2021 escucho bandas como proyect 86, chevelle, 12stones y muchos grupos más que en los 90s y principios de los 2000 escuchaba.. Saludos!
I remember when a ex of mine gave me this cd because someone broke into her moms vehicle at the time and left this album behind GREATEST thing to ever happen 🤣
I found them through a compilation CD, too. It was from 7ball magazine, which included a sampler CD each month, I believe. It was way back around 2000.
These guys are nothing less than amazing I’ve seen them 2 times in my life time live! I’ve should’ve seen them more than a dozen even that don’t do me justice
@ Ryan Ahr I agree their songs are amazing. I love their catchy melodies mixed in with the drums and they don't blare the guitar as loud as they can as most rock bands do, they play it at a good volume so all the music blends together instead of just being blaring guitar. Their song Fall, Goliath, Fall is amazing!!!
I freaking love Rival Factions. It's my favorite P86 album, and my second favorite album of all time (Green Day's American Idiot being first). It definitely doesn't get enough praise.
One of my favorite albums back in the day. I think being a Christian band hurt them in popularity in the long run. They should of been huge in the metal scene. I'll Take this over anything Korn and the like ever put out. I had no idea they were a Christian band till well after I bought this CD.
Does anyone else think that their Self titled, Drawing Black Lines, Truthless Heroes, Songs to Burn Your Bridges By, and ...and the rest will follow... albums were their best ones?
Used to be obsessed with P86...no hate...they just kinda fell off. I was so nervous when I met Andrew the first time. I bought his book and all the music...i was growing up and they helped me big time..
I know this post is 5 years old, but still warrants a reply: If I had to venture a guess it likely has to do with how things went between them and Atlantic Records during the TH era (lots of broken, empty promises). They wound up on the brink of going out for good and had to claw their way back from obscurity. Since then they re-signed with Tooth & Nail, then went fully independent once that contract was fulfilled, so no major label backing/promotion like Skillet enjoys. On the positive side of things they've managed to retain a smaller, but very loyal, following in the years since the TH fiasco.
An alternate theory: Skillet is generally a "happy" tone with pop-hook friendly radio songs, whereas P86 is a "darker" tone with less radio-friendly songs. (Obvious exceptions abound on album cuts for Skillet, especially Collide).
Djent is more then just that. Djent is the name the guy from meshuggah gave to a sound he had been developing since the 80s. There are a lot of "chugging" riffs that aren't djent. Djent is a very particular sound and style.
Stavesacre, Blindside, Chevelle, Plankeye, Bleach, Slick Shoes, Grammatrain, East West - if you know who any of these bands are, you might be a product of the 90's.
product of the 80s here...some of those were really good though. shining lights in the desert of the 90's
The 90s were great all around... it's the modern era that's a wasteland.
The 90s ruled. Everything that came after the turn of the century ushered in by the sounds of Britney Spears and modern pop rap was just the tip of the floating pile of garbage that helped shape millennials.
Everything sucked after 2005 it was the fall of Japanese Domestic's .
Slick Shoes...wow, I haven't heard that one in a while. Anyone remember Believable Picnic?
Seventeen years later and this still sounds amazing. There's a reason why Project 86 will always be a favorite of mine.
23 yrs and still kicking my ass!
17 years ago was 7 years ago🤯
I remember watching this premiere on UTV.
This song takes on a new life of its own in the 2020s when so many NPC zombies are milling around. I had no idea that's what he was talking about in the year 2000, but that's definitely what it is.
still heavy after 17 years.
this album might be the heaviest of all time
I listened to this sooo much back in the day.
Me too man. Project 86, Demon Hunter, thousand foot krutch, embodyment and Falling Up. Used to wear those albums out!
I used to bang this in my car as well as Demon Hunter and Becoming The Archetype.
THE DEAD RISE UP TO PRAISE YOU!!!
Love BTA man. Underrated band for sure.
Oh man, Falling Up. Good stuff.
Yes!

Gotta say it puts a smile on my face when this song comes on in the car and my 6 year old yells for me to crank it up. Saw them live a few years back. Had to be one of the best live performances I have ever seen in person. Awesome group!
I'm 4 years sober from heroin and cocaine... Because of the Lord Jesus Christ and his many many messengers... Like these guys ☝️
Truthless hero was great project 86 album
Most people probably don't think a Christian band and song could get you so jacked up and ready to move. One of the best things about them. 🖤Favorite P86 song.

Heard this on Radiou in Columbus Ohio about 15 years ago. Still an awesome Track!!!
Listened to this today working out. Still love it nearly 2 decades later.

Me extraña viejo, pura vida !!!
I remember when a ex of mine gave me this cd because someone broke into her moms vehicle at the time and left this album behind GREATEST thing to ever happen 🤣
Andrew and Co. will never know how many times they (him) saved this dude's life. Thank you guys! Awesome song btw!
Love this song and the Drawing Black Lines CD to this day!
My favorite Project 86 song of all time! Awesome riffs and groove!

Love the guitar tone on this one !
This is the song that got me into harder music. It was on a compilation CD. Wish I would remember what CD it was.
Joshua Jordison solid state compilations?
I found them through a compilation CD, too. It was from 7ball magazine, which included a sampler CD each month, I believe. It was way back around 2000.

I remember this song when Its on the MTV Pure ride on ps1 when I was a kid. man those were the good times
P.O.D & Project 86 need to tour togather.
I saw them both together years ago in Raleigh NC. Hed PE was on the bill as well.

Excellent band and music!
Last year I ran upon this song on roblox.... Used it as my theme song for roblox wrestling

Old people cannot understand these lyrics. Please consider providing close captioning.
I heard two songs from it last night in St. Louis. Goliath is and epic song, just wait to hear it. Man it's awesome.
I remember watched this video on MTV, in a program called 120 Minutes
Excelente canción, antes de dormir escuchaba está música a mis 16 años
One of the members in our group "NYLØCK" use to skate to this all the time back in the day :)
This song in my playlist..."play on and play on and play on and play on..."
Heavy!!!
One of the best Christian Rapcore bands of all time.
I freaking love Rival Factions. It's my favorite P86 album, and my second favorite album of all time (Green Day's American Idiot being first). It definitely
doesn't get enough praise.
Great song.
This was my favorite Project 86 CD until Picket fence Cartel... Now I can't decide. I will see them Friday and post some video.
The Best Song !!
chimba de musica!! excelente
It's really a shame that P86 couldn't maintain this level of quality throughout their career. I don't really understand their recent music.
Rival Factions is the best CD i've ever heard.
I feel the same way you do.
One of my favorite albums back in the day. I think being a Christian band hurt them in popularity in the long run. They should of been huge in the metal scene. I'll Take this over anything Korn and the like ever put out. I had no idea they were a Christian band till well after I bought this CD.
Good times 😍
Not loud enough
Who knows this song from the game Pure Ride??? One of the better PS1 games I must say!
Does anyone else think that their Self titled, Drawing Black Lines, Truthless Heroes, Songs to Burn Your Bridges By, and ...and the rest will follow... albums were their best ones?
+Lucas Rivera I agree, up to ...and the rest will follow, wasn't a huge fan of that one.
Re-release remaster released now.
Holy shit the chorus
DON'T leave
One eye symbolism.
Used to be obsessed with P86...no hate...they just kinda fell off. I was so nervous when I met Andrew the first time. I bought his book and all the music...i was growing up and they helped me big time..
INTENSE!!! 🤘
I personally enjoy that album. It's different from the other stuff, but in a good way.
31 July 2024 here. 🤘💪

Drawing Black Lines still ='s P86's best album to date......amazing.........PS, P86 new album coming out in 2012!

Truly and AMAZING band...still one of the BEST concerts I have ever been to. I still don't know why they didn't blow up huge, like Skillet

Muito bom
This is my favorite album, but I do like the direction they went in. I personally would lf they did a mix of STBYBB with Truthless Heroes.
@KingBoots8 You little kids and not being able to enjoy the old stuff. This is their best song, no doubt about it.
Best
@Catmonk201 Nu Metal songs with Rap Vocals are the Best

Can't subscribe?
A zurgs insane and frankenstegger
isn't there only the vocalist in the band lol?
This is what Christian Metal sounded like before Demon Hunter
@fromlightcomesshadow they stopped rapping.
I swear this song makes me think of Tool during the Undertow days
@Sasjarox I like you :)
"Djent" before "djent" was "djent." \m/
Not to be that guy, but where do you hear djent at all in this song?
divided123 Meh. My age is showing. That's all.
quick, cover it up!
divided123 Djent = the sound of palm muted chugging guitar riffs. There's plenty of that in this song, although djent wasn't coined as a word yet.
Djent is more then just that. Djent is the name the guy from meshuggah gave to a sound he had been developing since the 80s. There are a lot of "chugging" riffs that aren't djent. Djent is a very particular sound and style.
