I am 70, and I used to draw cartoons, they were my favorite ones, but I got away from them for years. Now I'm doing it for fun. I went through health issues and forgot how to start, your videos help me so much and I'm going to start buying your books. Thank you for giving me another happy day. 😊 Did I mention that I am also left handed ✋️
That's sounds great, I'm glad you're inspired! And thanks for watching.
Thank you Mr. Hart for re-inspiring me to start drawing cartoons as a hobby again. Been 11 years since I drew but after finding a video and owning your ultimate cartooning guide book. Struggling at the moment with eyes and facial placements like the nose but with hard work and dedication I know I’ll get it. Hopefully your day is going well and again thank you for these vids and your big heart for a beginner artist like me!!✍️💜
I'm so glad to have been a small part of your inspiration. Welcome back to the world of creativity!
I love your videos and books so much, they help me build my skills and stay interested in my art. Thank you!
Glad you like them!
Thank you for inspiring me to pursue a career as a cartoonist, this really inspires me and so do some of your books that I have!
Thank you so much!
Your welcome!
I love your work. Keep inspiring us, Chris. Thankyou
Thanks for this video! I've recently started pencil drawing manga and have several of your books, which have helped me tremendously. Your expert tips make all the difference! I also enjoy just leafing through them and admiring your art when I'm not drawing.
I'm so glad!
Thanks for this! I’ve been struggling with drawing people and faces. I don’t draw often anymore because I get discouraged when it turns out bad or I don’t know what to draw, and I switch between realistic and cartoony-type art styles. But you inspired me to try again :)
You know, drawing in a style halfway between cartoons & realistic is also a genre, especially in comic books. You may have hit the right style for yourself without knowing it!
Amazing 😍
Love your videos and just bought your book. Thank you so much for guiding me to drawing cartoons.
My great pleasure.
Thank you! You are a Godsend!
You're too nice!
Thank you very much Christopher, you are amazing!!!

@@ChristopherHartbooks You're welcome, my fellow artist friend 🐱👍.
Could you please show how to put an illustration together with a background and foreground Thanks.
Awesome Chris, I'm just thinking about how many lucky people will be inspired to draw because of this video. Speaking of, i've actually been struggling with how long i should draw, i mean like should i put a time limit on it? Or just stop when i feel fatigue? I'm thinking maybe i should try to be less stubborn, should i just let drawings go if there just not working? Is that a good idea? Regardless thanks for another awesome video. :)
My opinion is that the amount of time spent at each drawing session, and even the intensity of concentration, does not matter as much as the consistency. Drawing often is the key. Good question.
@@ChristopherHartbooks Thank you so much, as usual, you've helped me a lot great teacher. :)
Can I use/edit one of the drawings from your book "Poses and Expressions"? Specifically, the one on page 15. I would have to make a few tweaks, but would that be OK?
So you have a center line, but the tip of the nose and the bow of the lip aren't on it. That confused me. I can see that it looks right, but I don't really know why or how to figure that out. Help?
That's a good observation. The reason those features are not on the centerline is because they protrude from the surface of the face. For example, the bridge of the nose attached to the center line, but as it extends outward, it will go past it. The same is true for the lips.
Your books are a great inspiration. However in all your video's and books there has yet to be a plan to teach ourselves. How do we who buy your books and maybe other books on art teach ourselves to draw if we are serious about being cartoonists or even animators?
Another good question. This is what I suggest: practice drawing the tutorials, and notice where you might have made a different choice from mine. Notice that the tutorial might be a more effective choice. Noticing this can help you when you go to draw your own character. For example, you might begin to draw the eyes very wide apart, but then remember that in a tutorial from one of my books, like "Figure It Out: Human Proportions," I indicated that the eyes are one eye-length apart. That would be a good way to put into practice what you have been practicing.
