I’ve always been confused by Black Mantas power levels, sometimes he seems like a street level regular human, other times he’s able to fight Wonder Woman and Aquaman like a high tier.
I think its the heroes whose sometimes holding back. They go easy when dealing with those kind of villain. But when its comes to godlike level villain like darkseid they go all up.
To be somewhat fair here, Diana is poisoned, has one arm disabled (thus why he could harm her by pressing on it) and is busy holding her breath on top

This isn't actually Black Manta, the creators have said that they legally weren't allowed to use Aquaman villains in the show so they had to create a new villain named Devil Ray. He actually just recently got a comic storyline canonizing him in the main DC universe

Diana is very strong, fast, and a great fighter but her one weakness is sharp weapons and bullets. That’s why she has the shield and bracelets. She has to block them. Unlike Superman who can just let them bounce off like they’re made of toilet paper.
To be honest I don't understand about her durability and how her strength works. Maybe because she's half god/demi god? It just doesn't make sense if she can withstand headbutt from Superman and beating from mountain-crusher monster but vulnerable to sword&bullet. Or it was some kind of curse : blessed with durability from blunt force such as punch/kick by Thor, Hulk or Doomsday but vulnerable against Ak47.
My guess on why she has to block is she's a warrior-fighter so bullet or projectile attack is like a challenge. I'm sure she's durable against mortal made projectile.
Edit : it seems that it depends on the writer (sigh..) and what kind of life journey she's going to.

In some comics, other character ask her about why she blocks bullets and sharp objects, and the usual response is that if she didn't it'd make her boobs jiggle and it feels uncomfortable, she IS extremely durable, but she's not invincible, hit her hard enough and she'll get hurt, but guns and swords wielded by most beings can't hurt WW, Cheata being a usual antagonist for WW has super human strength similar to that of WW, so it stands to reason they're able to hurt one another, but weaker characters aren't able to do much damage to WW with or without blocking.
@@iganpparamarta8813 her molecules can tank a lot of blunt damage, but anything that can split them will. Like if you hit your hand with a spoon, you'd likely be fine, but if you applied less force with a knife on your hand, you'd likely bleed anyway.

Honestly no difference. No different backstory or no backstory given so it doesn’t matter. Viewers can just view him as black manga and that won’t change anything except for when people call him devil ray
It was originally supposed to be, but they were fighting over the rights to Aquaman and his characters (thus the reason Aquaman hardly showed up that season), so they changed the name to Devil Ray and killed him off.

Yes, but Black Manta (in the comics at least) is a regular foe to Aquaman, who can beat Wonder Woman in a fight. And I'm pretty sure Wonder Woman was suffering from a form of poisoning during this fight.

Well he was a brave men for challenging a half-God to a fist fight.
If you know anything about fighting Manta wasn't copping a cheap feel he was using a pressure point cause those hurt way more than punches and can do even greater damage. That's why WW yelled out like she did. There are 107 main pressure points. And about 10 of those are around the head and neck area that can cause a stroke or even death. If Manta is lucky and has WW on his sub all tied up with her lasso, using no specialty suit or anything else just his hands he could seriously do some damage or just excruciating pain due to her super healing abilities. However, if he took her way out into space where you could no longer see earth then it's even possible a normal human can probably kill WW. One more contingency plan that Batman should look into.

WW, THE ORIGINAL WW wouldn't be able to do it. The revamped version of WW can but no where near the length of Superman. Sure the revamped version of WW is very strong but her body is not accustomed to constant pressure. Hell, even Aquaman would stand a better and longer chance of being in a vaccume then WW. Plus she still needs to breath. My guess is she can hold her breath in vacuum of space for about as long as the average person can while still moving under water. And after that she'd be sucking in air like an average person. As for those who will say but WW can handle the deepest parts of the ocean and that's like space. This is just a comparison. That's like seeing a painting of a sky and a person says that really looks like the sky but we know is just a painting. The vacuum of space is many many times heavier than the deepest part of the oceans. And besides she should not be able to fly in space either cause there's absolutely no wind in space.

The thing with WW that even the recent DC writers are forgetting is that WW draws her strength the closer she's to earth. But if I remember it's as long as she's within the earth's atmosphere her strength is the same but once she's passed the atmosphere she starts to lose her powers. The further away she's from the atmosphere the weaker she becomes to the point of being as strong as a mortal human; however she is still a very skilled fighter.
Same exact thing can be said about Superman. The latest version is that he gets his power from the sun but if it's night the more he uses his powers the weaker he should become cause after all he's nothing more than a battery.
The DC writers are just lazy to keep these minor details always in check. This is why I stopped following all of DC cept for Batman. But even the stories have been consistently lame.
