Penny deserves better, she had a little hope saved for her mother, and for what? At the end Elizabeth didn't seem to care, but deep inside you can see she does care :(

Penny and her brother deserved a so much better life. The genuine pain on Penny's face as Elizabeth walked right past her daughter, who she probably hasn't seen in years, and then gets upset when she finds out the victim of her abuse is still mad at her for the abuse. Even though I'm glad Elizabeth does change eventually in the long future, it must've hurt seeing someone who abused you your entire life suddenly become the parent you deserved for someone else. It's good C.C and his son was there at least, I can't imagine how differently they might've turned up without him being there.
Yet again Elizabeth has no remorse. It’s interesting because people say that it’s William’s fault and I do agree since he had a toxic parenting style and only ever used them for his plans and yet it didn’t even do anything beneficial (referring to alive au). I understand that William was the cause of all the trauma generationally but it doesn’t excuse her actions. C.C had the same trauma maybe even worse but he’s trying to be kind how he’s supposed to be. I understand some parts of her behaviour but we should acknowledge this too
Imagine being excited and nervous for reuniting with your mother after so many years of not seeing her because one unfaithful action, but that mother just breaks your heart by remaining her cold self.

Also, is it just me or does it feel like Elizabeth is acting like this because at this point she doesn't _know_ how to change? Like the faces she made at the end feels like she knows this is wrong at this point.
You killed her father and she WAITED FOR YOU, the AUDACITY Elizabeth has is astoundingly horrible. William destroyed her. It baffles me she ended up as a wonderful grandmother, but still, the grandmother doesn't raise the children. She will never understand what she had done.. I wish I could hug Penny.

Personally I would say that being a mother doesn’t mean just giving birth to a kid I would say if you act like a parental figure no matter what age (personally) you could be considered a mother Yk, or at least to the people who you cared for Even if it’s not like financial support, I’m a father to like 6 friends or ‘kids’ and have been for years lol, and I would like to consider myself as a parental figure to them even if I’m not their blood Yk?
