People should be socializing in person more anyway, communicating online is so draining and it can make people lazy and flaky in regards to living a proactive life. I rather communicate in person myself it is so much more rewarding and it's nice getting out of the house.
It’s better to teach kids how to be safe from things like that online, instead of just making them not talk at all, causing issues down the road. She was genuinely trying to help, but executed it poorly.

My mom don't know ANYTHING about computers, so I told her BEFORE talking to anyone or streaming, even showed her how I report wrong doers on every platform I use. She was fine with it, 7 years later I still wake her up in the middle of the night chatting with people cause I'm a loud mouth lol.
