When I played a druid we run issues about buying food and water, all i would do would conjur up good berries and creat/destroy water. I was the portable food truck XD. My team so sick of me though like Good berries! Them ugggh we been eating these berries for weeks. We pick up a new adventure trys cook food getting everyone food poisoning except me cause I dont trust it and stuck my berries. Me: I TOLD YOU GOOD BERRIES ARE BEST CHOICE

I would like to advise Diath and Strix to stay far away from pillows and stairs. Murderbot likes pushing and smothering, and you aren't entertained. Paultin's safe though, he's nice to Murderbot.

this is the first group i have ever seen that thought sending a flare up every day so every single monster and such knows exactly where to look for them was a great idea

So, what was the point of Lafaria/Satine rolling saving throws from death if she was going to die, anyway? To see if she could bestow a final moment?

I came to the #Wafflecrew because of Perkins and stayed for Nate. (Though I love them all at this point.)

I'm surprised I don't see any comments about the fact that Jared's meetup was at the GAYLORD Hotel. I'm not the kind of person who uses that type of terminology, but my god, that's too obtuse of a title to not point out.

Raiven Vesu As long as Diath avoids stairs and pillows (and Strix probably should too) he'll probably be okay. Otherwise yeah he's probably right.
Chris ended season one with something along the lines of "Murdebot wants revenge for his Vistani friend", so I do not trust Alternative Factsbot. Just avoid robots and inanimate objects with the potential to animate in general! :)
Well, they might have just died if that's what it wanted. Only a wounded and spent Strix was left but he killed the giant instead of helping it end her.

For anyone that has ever thought about just skipping sessions, let that giant encounter be your warning of the consequences. Anna surely had a good reason to not be here, but I know people that have been tempted to just skip sessions and this is what happens. D&D is everyone's game, for better and worse. Your absence has more weight on the forthcoming events than it might first seem. Especially this far into a campaign, DMs plan games around your character being there. For this encounter, she would've operated as 1 more target to hit, a heavy damage-dealer and a possible healer. Her presence would have tilted favors much father in the favor of the Waffle Crew.
AlluMan96 we lost our priest during our 2nd AL session, two of our party died but due to AL rules we got a free revive.

This was always doubly panic-inducing to the party I played in, because we had a mutual agreement on perma-deaths, as we pretty much all thought that that resurrections killed the tension and stakes in an encounter and just felt cheap from a narrative perspective. Only once did we get an ass-pull from our DM, when what was supposed to be a simple, "Trivial" rated encounter against 1 Medusa ended up completely derailing out of hand and resulted in an unintended total party wipe, as 5 of the 6-man team ended up petrified in the middle of a big-ass dungeon, leaving only me, a level 5 or 6 Barbarian, to fight the remaining encounter with a Mind Flayer and later 4 Ankhegs.
As for this encounter? Truth be told, it doesn't help that this was a seriously overbearing challenge, barring on brutal dog-piling. I actually did run the encounter through the challenge balancing, counting the total EXP gain opposed to the number of characters and their levels. Considering how that negates all context like terrain, scenario and character abilities, it can be a bit dodgy sometimes, but the results I got, coupled with what we see in this video led me to believe this fight was pretty busted.
Get this, For 4 Hill Giants and at the party's current level (7, right?), they would have needed *7 members to the party* in order to nudge the rating below "Deadly." "Hard" encounters are the optimal conditions for 80% of direct encounters. An encounter should only be Deadly if you're making an encounter made to be circumvented, if your at the end game of a larger quest arc or it was an optional fight you were given due warning for and are just asking for it at that point. This encounter nearly doubled the maximum limit to Hard encounters. That is ridiculous. The NPCs they were provided did help in matters, but Zog is completely worthless either way.
All this considered, I'd say the Waffle Crew got decent results. I can imagine Chris knew this fight was too meaty, considering over half of the enemies were taken care of by forfeit. For what they were dealing with, Paultin and Satine especially were going at this from the right angle. Still, it feels a bit demoralizing for the DM to just stomp your face onto the pavement in such an unrelenting manner. I would've re-tooled it to just maybe 3 threats, 2 of the regular giants and the fatass that took her sweet time anyway.
AlluMan96 They were thrown a Deadly challenge? I feel like that might be because if Evelyn was here, Diath could be kept alive, and he can revive someone. The encounter does seem excessive, even with that.
Hooty got robbed. He got in one attack, got smacked by giants, then they forgot to let him attack again the rest of the fight :P At least murderbot got some attacks before he was forgotten as well when Paultin went down.
I only just realised that while Evelynn isn't watching, Paultin could just use a vistani curse on stryx that she never hears the words of Lathander again...
