Even after four years, this video is a true inspiration for many artist, I'm sure. Just as all your other tutorials. I've learnt a lot from you (and some other youtubers), but your work is realy my favorite kind of art. You just have that little something, that eye for detail and finesse that I sometimes miss in other artists on RUclips... Thank you for being such an inspiration to so many of us! Always looking forward learning from your tutorials! Greetings from Belgium
Beautiful!! I have been making my own version of smash books, for women I know of who need some encouragement, support, and to feel loved, OR for those women who have loved, supported and encouraged me through the years. so many are going through such hard times, with illness, or personal hardships, etc... using, whatever materials I can find, shabby, a little grungy and girlie, but with plenty of spaces for special photos, keepsakes, etc....and randomly mailing them out, so they never know they are coming in the mail...I love your work Gabrielle, I watch your videos over and over, and I am always inspired. I just don't have, and cannot afford all the wonderful materials you use, so I make do with what I can scrounge up, and I am always looking for stuff I can use for my inspiration books. THANK YOU for sharing your work. I hope you know what it means to some of us.
I love your pages! I never liked a lot of the pages I made and then I discovered Mixed Media. I have been making some pages lately and I have had many compliments when I post them on Facebook and Instagram. I continue to experiment and I have watched your videos over and over. You are an inspiration! Thank you so much for making these videos available. They are wonderful :) -Katherine
Stunning mixed media project. But as beautiful as the girl in the photo is, she gets lost amongst all of the embelishments. I don't see this as a scrapbook page but as a frameable piece of artwork. TFS the tutorial.
Once again you've done an amazing job.Thank you so very much for sharing your incredible talent. I've learned so many techniques, and you've inspired me to create outside of my comfort zone. You are truly a gifted artist.
Beautiful page! I love the gauzy curtain effect you did with the cheese cloth and iron works piece. That glitter paste is amazing! I'm going to to get some of that, how fun! I love the latest Bo Bunny papers, etc. Amazing job pulling it all together. You're work is truly inspirational and I thank you for sharing it with everyone.
This is such a pretty display...beautifully designed. I loved watching your hands work...auditioning pieces and elements here and there. Using the center of your first layer is such a good idea...love that additional paper wasn't needed, and that using the same designer paper pulls the page together. Best part, of course, is that photo...such a treasure. Thanks for making this process video.
Hi there Gabrielle. I know this is an older video, but the beauty of this layout is spectacular. I am doing a Scrapbook Page 2 days in June, so I am searching for inspiration now, rather than later. hahaha I am not a SB "er" but love creating Layouts for the added dimension I can have as it isn't going into a sleeve. LOL Listen to me, I am trying to come up with the SB lingo. Hysterical. Thanks for your tutorials. I am always amazed at your thought process. Take care, and I hope this finds you doing well. Miss your tutorials, but I know life gets in our way, and we need to create when the inspiration arrives. Blessings to you my friend.
Hello Gabrielle!! I never miss a chance to watch your mixed media projects!! They are amazingly stunning, sooo lovely that I feel like digging into my available material start one project right away!!! God bless!! Hugs! Harpreet!
You're such an inspiration! I'm off to do a layout for myself. Practice, practice, practice and someday I might just be brave enough to do a RUclips! Thanks Gabrielle, your work is stunning as always!
Hi.....Gabrielle.....u works r always awesome......many peoples have designing skills, but only....only few peoples can present it.......thats u........when i get chance to visit Canada.... i definitely try to meet u
Hi, I have a couple of questions for you: Do you prefer a particular size of picture when you work in a 12x12 format? Also, how do you keep the background paper from curling up and looking sloppy when you apply paint or spray colours? Thank you for your help and thank you for posting your spectacular work for the rest of us to see.
Gorgeous. I'm watching lots of your videos this weekend, because I'm struggling with a layout. The photo I want to use has vibrant colors. I've made so many with B/W photos but this time I want to use this colorful photo of my granddaughter. I'm stumped. Any suggestions on how to 'present' the photo but keep the background interesting??? And thanks for your videos. Not only are you an amazing artist but you have to know how to film, edit and upload videos??? I'm totally impressed. TFS.
Hello! I AM SUCH A FAN OF YOUR WORK! I love the embellishments you choose! I was wondering what is the rolling device you are using? Thanks for sharing your talents with us all!
This Garden Journal collection is beautiful. Think I may use it in an outdoor tea party album. Not as detailed as yours, but I think it will look great with the little girls in their big hats, white gloves, long dresses and no shoes. Where do you find your think cheese cloth? This is a beautiful piece of art. I am a relatively new subscriber and I enjoy watching you create.
Oh my gosh Gabrielle I'm addicted to watching your videos and I am one of your biggest fan......I think your work is always stunning and always different nd that sweet little girl is so cute... I truly wish I could create a layout without making a mess of it all the time.... I have never done one is it hard to do?...... I wouldn't know where to start... but really want to start the question is how to start? Crafting hugs Bridget ☺ x
Just wondering: do you ever think after a project is done: next time I would do somethng different or have you ever been unhappy with something? I think everything you make is so gorgeous
I do, most times its after I've posted my photo of my layout and I get a more 'distant' look at it, it will occur to me that I could've extended a background further or added more color etc.....I think we all occasionally get that feeling ;)
Hola Gabrielle he encontrado tu pagina y quede impresionada con el tipo de arte que haces ,soy de Argentina y me encantaría saber si desde aqui puedo obtener tus Kitts para hacerlo desde casa.
Gabrielle...I'm a big fan and always inspired by your work. I do have a question...how do you keep your pages from rippling with all the wet media you use. I tried gluing mine to the back of a pad of paper and it still rippled. Any suggestions?
Hi Mary, I'm like you and find the warping paper frustrating. If my paper begins warping too much, sometines I take a half hour break and leave my project with some heavy books sitting on it, that seems to do the trick for me. If I can finish the project without excessive warping I usually leave my page out with some heavy objects (glue bottles etc) sitting on each corner...when I check in the morning, my page is usually flat. Truth be told, I prefer to use tge wet stuff like mists on canvas's that wont warp....and use inks (Distress or chalk inks) on my scrap pages...inking isn't usually wet enough to cause warping. ;)
What do you store a page like this in when you're done? I always have my scrapbook pages inside clear inserts but the flowers and embellishments make the inserts kinda pop open.. Is that normal?
This is lovely. You are such an artist. Your hands seem to be going to the exact place so easily. I follow yiu from Greece. I am kind of new to scrapbooking world and woukd love to gain some more exoerience. Can yoy tell me the name of the small black machine you use to cyt out tge butterfkies at the beggibing if yiur video. Thanks a ton .
Martine Typas: With permission, you have all kind of die cut machines, from expensive to cheep, and you can easily find them in most of the craftshops. I got mine from a friend who bought it in Action (it's like an American dollarstore, but then in Belgium) ; it was a one-time promotion in the craft section of the shop. Since this post is already four years ago, I truely hope you've found one till now! ;-)
Beautiful! I love watching people do scrap booking. I am a seamstress so watching someone create with anything other than fabric is intriguing.
