    Nice nod to Nathan. Good find on the doors, maybe you could cover some history on why only the passenger side of your originals had a key lock.

    Nice door find! I didn't mention it the other day but I'm currently having the same A/C issues as you on my 88 Mustang GT. I had just replaced the evap while I had the dash out replacing the heater core. Also had just replaced the liquid line(oriface) and the compressor was a NAPA unit less than a year old. It locked up a couple weeks ago. They warrantied the compressor but when you have a compressor failure you have to replace the dryer, condenser, orifice tube (in my case made into the liquid line) and potentially the evaporator. I'm going to flush the evap and I bought all new parts otherwise. I did days and days of research and there's just no way around it. As a matter of fact, the warranty on the compressor says no warranty without all that stuff.....sux. I got the flush kit from O'Reilly for $50 as a loaner tool. You just have to buy the A/C Flush fluid. I should have mine back charged tomorrow...I'm hoping. I just refuse to pull the dash out again as I've had it out 3 times already trying to find a new heater core that doesn't leak. Finally found an actual Motorcraft one exactly like my original.
    Here's the link for the tool........www.oreillyauto.com/detail/rental-tools-evertough-4771/tools---equipment-16488/tools-17919/rental-tools-16837/rental-tools--air-conditioning---cooling-19163/a-c-flush-kit/67129/4700300/2010/ford/mustang?q=loan
    You just hook it up to an air compressor and blast till all the old oil and debris is out. Don't forget new PAG oil.
    Glad the engine didn't blow up!!! :)

      Wayne Waldrep don't use compressor air or oxygen to blow out AC / refrigeration lines ever. Google it, if you mix oxygen and refrigeration or AC oil it explodes. No joke.

    Very cool stuff and very pretty country side as well
    Always take every opportunity you can to spend time with your family they grow up all to quick
    I wonder if oil the oil came out when the refrigerant dropped in a hurry ???

  • @CorneliusZelius
    @CorneliusZelius 7 лет назад

    The 'sudden drop in pressure' has no negative negative effect on the compressor. To be honest I skipped around on this video a lot, so I could've missed something. But what it sounds like to me is when you blew the line, you blew out a lot of the oil and the compressor locked up cause you didn't have enough oil circulating. But if I missed something fill me in and I'd like to help :)

    dont know wat kind of system it is but make sure u change acu/dryer, any orifice tubes. check for the black death

  • @dennislangston487
    @dennislangston487 7 лет назад +1

    AC problem sounds like metering orifice is plugged up causing high side to overfill slugging compressor with liquid refrigerant . Make sure system is clean before installing new compressor.Compressor could possibly be still working if system cleaned up.

    Hey Matt, another Matt here. I love what you are doing with this truck, marrying the old and the new and documenting it very well. One question I have is how would you have approached this if you wanted to keep a closer to stock stance? I have a flareside 66 F100 and would enjoy the modern suspension, but don't want to lose 5+ inches of ride height.

    • @mattboyd5024
      @mattboyd5024 7 лет назад +1

      micastang1980 there is one but the bolt head still touch the sending unit and go in to the tank. A rubber washer on each bolt might work.

    Great vid Mat, I went a different direction on solving the lack of a driver door lock, we bought a lock set, located the correct placement in the drivers door - drilled the hole, then recreated the linkage from the passenger door with slight adaptations for the driver door latch, worked out fine. I know you haven't gotten to the windshield wiper motor yet, have you given any thought to using the CV motor to get the intermittent function of the wipers? If you want to take a look at what I'm doing here's a link to a few of the pics. ImageEvent.com/zany

    HOW-D I AM RODNEY RUSHING I've watched all your videos I love the unit body style watch Nathan's I don't like him building something turnaround selling it but I quit watching him anyway I have a bunch of trucks I love the old trucks never commented on anybody's before your doors that you just bought the ones on your truck or not that bad we on a body shop but we're in Birmingham Alabama but anyway that's what gives it the nostalgia look that you're going for and the pain on them not that bad the front left of the pastor door does have a crush whar it was opened up when the fender was too far either the front fender come back and bumped it .but the drivers door that can be pulled out just have to weld a tab and pull out on it bit the tab out weld . And about the looks the only thing I would not change it . it looks good to the way you've done it but the may be the tailgate . But as far as your body panels and all I've let it go jus like it is .i got a 68 and its all original just like that as what makes that so unique but anyway like your videos and wood like to see some of your bike bills too
