Yup, the characters and music itself at 3:32 are indeed in Lazy Town style. The language they're speaking is Icelandic, where Lazy Town is from. The characters in that commercial are the original puppets made to promote the plays. They're more similar to the character designs in the plays Áfram Latibær! (Go LazyTown!) and Glanni Glæpur í Latabæ (Robbie Rotten in LazyTown) that the show was based off of
In this specific commercial they're not promoting a grocery store, rather they're promoting Icelandic produce. The bit at 3:53 says "Icelandic vegetables give power! Icelandic Gardening"
wow
It's such a trip watching clips from the Icelandic show. It's like being thrown into an alternate reality. Still a pretty fun show no matter the language.
Cursed town
Which character is the meth dealer looking puppet meant to be?
It's always fun to see this kind of stuff randomly outside the Lazy Town fandom
I have this reoccurring dream that Chadtronic is my English teacher no joke. The weirdest part to me is the fact that I don't question it at all in the dream. Its like I have known him on a personal level for years.

This was worth reading.
Thanks for sharing that.
Dreams really do be like that sometimes.
Your dreams must be amazing.
The lorax commercial is even more cursed when you realise they are doing exactly one of the things the movie criticises.
its not even like its an electric car or a hybrid. Theyre still burning fuel and making air pollutants.
This ☝️☝️ It grinds my gears how blindly they miss the point of the Lorax with this marketing bs. The fact that they roped Danny Devito into it is just icing on the cursed cake.
@Spamton and Pauline Fan Est 2003 true
It was even marketing a Mazda CX-5 which is a crossover SUV.
It's like Christmas Story. "Marketing is bad. Now let me put my obnoxious face to sell junk."
It's history time Chad!
One of the creators of Chuck E Cheese pizza, Robert Brock, wasn't happy with how the company was growing and evolving so he was let go/left the company and formed his own, ShowBiz Pizza. His goal was to regularly evolve and grow and evolve the companies' technology as it grew.
Show Biz grew so large and influential, that by 1984 Chuck E Cheese was filing for bankruptcy, so Show Biz immediately bought them and merged the two companies.
By 1989 the company went public, and complexity of the animatronic characters became too expensive to maintain. They wanted to find a way to replace them with a cheaper alternative. The first thing they did was fire the creator of the animatronics. who unfortunately held the rights to the ShowBiz "Rock-afire Explosion" character, and took them with him when he left.
Because of this, they were forced to replace all the characters and rebrand every ShowBiz into Chuck E Cheese by 1992. Which is why we only have Chuck E Cheese now a days. I remember having ShowBiz growing up, it was quite the spectical and never knew why it was forced to change to Chuck E Cheese.
bob brock wasnt the creator of chuck e cheese he was a franchise owner, the creator of chuck e cheese was nolan bushnell [who also created atari]
you're so lucky you got to go to showbiz 😭
@@memethyst Thank you! Bob apparently was a Franchisee of Chuck e cheese, partnered with Nolan.
There is actually one Rock-Afire Explosion location I know that is still active, under the name "Billy Bob's Wonderland," which is the bear seen in the commercial here. I've actually never been to a Chuck-E-Cheese before because this is only one of these pizzaria places around.
@@darnit16 there are a few people who own rockafire shows privately but billy bob's wonderland is the only public rockafire in the us
I still have merch, tokens and tickets from showbiz. When they changed to chuck e cheese, it was never the same. Had a crush on Mitsy. Not in a furry way. I knew the girl at my local one who wore the suit. I woulda clapped the tail offa them rat cheeks. 😏
Actually, fun fact: the Surfing Monkey PSA was inspired by something the producer's friend did. He and his wife got high and ended up ordering a couple things from QVC -- a Star Trek collector's plate, a Chi-Wash-Wa home car-washing system and a pewter statuette in the shape of Michael Jordan. Spent $400 on it all. When the producer, Greg Collins, made the PSA, they had to trim it down to one item to fit a 30-second commercial spot, so his friend settled on a coin bank in the shape of a surfing monkey because it was just so ridiculous. $300 was spent on shooting the PSA and it was sold to the Partnership to End Addiction, or the Partnership for a Drug-Free America as it was called back then. The rest is history, as they say.
Which really translates to 'don't peruse certain content whilst stoned'.
Yeah I don't get why this would make me not want to do drugs, like ha ha I bought like 15 Silly Monkey Piggy Banks, just seems like maybe I should just avoid QVC while I'm high
the irony is this is condoning weed amongst other things, and a lot of countries legalized weed because there is just no point of criminilizing something safer than alcohol, a legal substance.
the monkey bank
I thought the whole idea was that someone would have to be on drugs to even consider buying something like that, let alone 15 of them.
I'm pretty sure the car in the Lorax commercial was even found to be one of the worst cars ever in terms of emission output.
Ouch.
Yeah, because these companies just make up awards and bs terms like skyactive technology and they know most people who care about the environment are too stupid to ask questions and just applaud whenever a company says they are doing good without any proof behind it.

Honestly this is the first time I’ve seen someone who’s not very familiar with Showbiz Pizza look at something Showbiz/Rock Afire Explosion related and not immediately talk about how terrified they are or how “it’s just like FNaF!!”
But honestly, it’s pretty rad to see someone else who still has an appreciation for the groovy little pizza robots
I’m thinking of the gravity falls episode with a pizza place based in that and the bears head explodes into a kids lap.

The cosplay on that GameStop commercial was actually not too bad. They got Link down pat.

The way the robots move around is surprising very seamless. There’s robots today that fail to move like that.
I was a kid when ShowBiz Pizza was still around, and Chucky Cheese replaced the Show Biz pizza in my town. I always preferred ShowBiz. I just remember the whole atmosphere and aesthetic was better to me. Ahh, nostalgia. 😂
ShowBiz Pizza rebranded to Chuck E. Cheese's Pizza in the early 90s to stop having to pay royalties to use The Rock-Afire Explosion in their restaurants. In reality, Chuck E. Cheese and ShowBiz Pizza Place are the exact same place, just different branding and stage shows.
I found a old record of rockeit fire explosion
I've just had the sudden realisation that Chad kinda looks like the presenter character from the old Buzz quiz party games for the PS2.

You should do a whole video about the series of Japanese commercials "The Long, Long Man" There's many and the pick up from where the last left off telling a long, long story

Those cursed commercials are something that came straight out of the Interdimensional Cable.
Considering the smogulous smoke output from this cars, they are most certainly not truffula friendly. The PR people are lying.
Yup, exactly.
It's ironic because the movie itself literally warns people to NOT listen to this EXACT type of ads. 😑
Technically, by going to Chuck E Cheese as a kid, you went to Showbiz Pizza. Showbiz won against CEC in the indoor playplace competition back in the mid 80s, and CEC Inc. sold nearly every location to the competing company in 1985. But since they were having issues with the creator of the Rockafire Explosion animatronic band, they instead adopted Chuck and his friends as their mascots and rebranded completely as CEC.
TL;DR, you have been to a Showbiz Pizza, you've just never seen the Rockafire Explosion
not all locations were showbiz locations. some were just made after that whole thing.
Apparently they didn't start the rebranding until 1990, and there were still Showbiz Pizza locations that hadn't been changed over to use the Chuck E. Cheese's name and characters until 1992.
Which explains why I clearly remember Showbiz Pizza being advertised on TV when I was really young.

The Bible says that no one is a good person. We have all broken God's law the 10 commandments, we have all committed, lies, adultery, idolatry, and blasphemy. We deserve hell, but because of what Jesus did on the cross we can be forgiven. So if you Repent of your sins, change your wicked ways, and put your faith in Christ you will be written in the book of life. 👌 🙏Repentance is reviewing one's actions and feeling contrition or regret for past wrongs, which is accompanied by commitment to and actual actions that show and prove a change for the better.. ..
I remember the Cereal Saturday Commercial…constantly ran on Nick because of Wreck-It-Ralph being a thing & it being the 2010s. Absolutely thought it was cool but it was cut to fit the ad slot.
We all remember that point in the 2010s when all cartoons wanted to be like Steven Universe and it was pretty annoying, but not this commercial it's pretty funky in a good way

I love this show because it feels like a real show that might have been on in the late 90's. The green slime with the purple, and the cheesy spooky props give me that old school Halloween feel that Iv always wished was year round. Even a puppet to boot.
I like that its long enough that you can really sit down and properly enjoy it. Oh and I like that their is some kind of weird gag at the start. Its not often something so new can make me feel so nostalgic.
10:47 Ok, BUT THIS COMMERCIAL BROUGHT SO MUCH NOSTALGIA WITH IT THOUGH!
The kid sounds like Finn from Adventure Time
The thing I enjoy alot about the Cursed Commercials series besides the interesting commercials and Chads reactions is the atmosphere that is created that I feel it’s intentional with how it comes off like a local tv horror host like Sammy Terry or something. Also I always get Munster vibes with that melody that plays when we see that outside shot of the castle.

Then another meteor hit and killed the family traumatizing the little girl again.
Showbiz Pizza was actually the _better_ version of Chuck E. Cheese and won the war, then bought the rights to all the Chuck E. Cheese characters when they went out of business. They replaced their own mascots with the other set they found more marketable.
So yes, in the 80s Chuck E. Cheese pizza was even worse than it is now, because the better pizza place is the one that took over the brand.

showbiz bought chuck e after the 80's and reskinned the characters accordingly. you might be surprised at the amount of chuck e cheese's restaurants that still remain that actually used to be a showbiz.
The puppets are actually early lazy town puppets and the one with the green beanie is a character named jives who was mainly in the Icelandic musicals :)
excuse me if i go off on a tangent. im a huge fan of obscure kids media! okay so first, the first commercial is actually made by the creator of lazytown, but it was way before it was known as that! the characters from lazytown and this commericial are based off the creator's original plays! :)
next, youre partially right about the second sentence! showbiz bought cec when the game market crashed in the 80s, and they merged into one (but still operated their own restaurants) but after some legal disagreements relating to the character rights of the rockafire, this whole thing called "concept unification" happened where (like you said) the rockafire turned into munchs make believe band (the band you see in modern cec, or used to see) and everything got rebranded to cec!
