Midas makes beautiful Preamps and since Berringer bought Midas it sure shows in those warm vocals.

I've been using the UMC204HD for the past four years and I love the sound so much that it's replaced my trusty first generation 2i4. At first I was snobbish about the Behringer but when I had to try it as I left my Scarlett at home while I was away, the Behringer did a great job. I actually prefer the sound I get from the Behringer. It's now replaced the Focusrite in my travel bag. I love the MIDAS pre amps. They sound great. I highly recommend the Behringer UMC204HD. I had a bad experience with the UMC1820 and had to send it back after a couple of weeks. I've not used the Focusrite 18i20

Excuse the question, if I modify the sound coming from the microphones with a DAW, does the sound thus treated also come out in real time from the speakers? ps: what microphones did you use? Thank you

    • @drummer13786

Njd microphones on toms, behringer on snare, behringer over heads and cant remember bass drum, it does come out real time in speakers yes, but i normally use headphones

Is there anyway within Windows sound to set the Behringer U-Phoria UMC1820 individual inputs to pan like you can with Focusrite’s Control software?

still using behringer umc after a year of use? I have mine for a year now and start to see some caveats with this audio interface.
    1. it's running really pretty hot even if there is no gain/ and no phantom power going on
    2. the cables, especially the one that supplies power to the audio interface is really low quality and sometimes causes breaks power supply.
    3. there is very limited amount of clean gain u can provide. the unit is getting noisy when turning the gain after 2 pm. if u gave gain hungry mic u may consider to get sth else.
nevertheless is it worth the price for the value it provides.

I have so many producer friends/ recording artists who i talk with, most of us are converting to behrigner because of its quality if you're good at mixing that also helps ofcourse but overall i haven't heard of this problem.
Most products will have a few faulty ones that come out, maybe you have been unfortunate to receive one?

I got one today but i found it sounded completely different (sounded worse)to my focusrite scarlet solo while listening to Spotify and RUclips through my Adam A7x monitors. All the bass seemed to have left and it was significantly brighter in the higher frequencies.. i would like to know if this is something you may also have noticed or if Spotify sounds the same between interface for you

You’re using it for something it is intended for. The lower end Focusrite stuff is garbage for recording.

You may want to send your audio to a trusted resource for their evaluation... From my perspective, the reverberation is very heavy compared to your very quiet vocals. You may also want to seriously consider gain staging, then "level matching" your inserted video clips.
    Best wishes.

Absolutely, im no sound engineer at all and dont claim to be. I base record everything from home, through my record label i get my songs mastered, if you listen to my other song Butterflies Inside on my channel you will understand what im talking about. I did this video for anyone who does record from home... regardless of whether they have experience recording or not, hope that makes sense 😀

    Cool video!
Q: I have the Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 (3rd Gen) but need more mic inputs for my kit. So looking at the Focusrite Scarlett OctoPre 8‑channel but can I slave the (less expensive) Behringer UMC1820 via ADAT to Focusrite 18i20 for 16 ch?

    • @drummer13786

Thabks for reaching out, yes im sure this would work! I actuallt just recently had the experience of the behringer air 18x but i dodnt like the whole control through a tabket situation so ive gone back to 8 inputs again lol. What you're thinking of doing will most probably work well.
