Good review and I really like your point of view on those AI pair programming tools! What is the difference in speed of both tools, I have been using copilot and it’s very fast. How AWS tool compare to copilot in term of speed?
Hi, thank you for your feedback! Yes, I compared them, and I have to say my preference right now is for Copilot. Both of them are technically very fast, meaning the response you get for your needs. But Copilot answers with bolder, larger blocks, that a lot of the time hit exactly my needs, as long as they are common. Codewhisperer is a bit more cautious, and gives me a bit at time, which slows me down. Also more precise with AWS API coding. But then, it came on the market later, so technology is slightly younger. They both also may have differences in what code is available for the models, and to which extent. But as a concept, both are very interesting tools, especially in these days of remote working, when having some extra ideas and verification when coding might accelerate work a lot.
