    I heard you can put a sliver flute or any tarnished sliver into a mixture of Baking Soda and boiling water. Is that safe?

      Add aluminum foil and you've got a good tarnish remover. Hot water (doesn't need to be boiling), baking soda, and aluminum will do it. The silver should touch the aluminum.
