I recognise/remember Virginia too - we had her playing on one of our folk trains back in 2007 - as Virginia Barrett - together with a couple of friends from the Chorlton Folk Club - I got her "Sense of Human" cd off her too - which I really enjoyed. The folk trains have been going for over 15 years now and we still help to run them (to Glossop Labour Club and Hathersage Little John Inn), with all kinds of acts on them - some of them are bands that are pretty well known on the North-Western folk/rock curcuit, such as Reckless Elbow from the Wirral, and occasionally, on the Sheffield-Edale ones, the amazing Treebeard have played it a few times as well. They're brilliant days/evenings out and many bands still contact us asking about how to get on them. Perhaps one day we can get Merry Hell to do one - that would be an absolute coup!!! :)
excellent!! i still busk a version of a couple of your tunes! they always go down well, used to do Camelot and one i' not sure of the title, "what you fear is falling" i still hammer Government man, and i know i can but i wont! really like the merry hell tunes, having a listen through some more now!
easily two of the most underrated bands ever
i think this is my favourtie ever tune
i dont think people realise how good this is

This is Merry Hell from Wigan
is this the tansads??? as in original members?
Yes formerly the Tansads of Wigan :)
how much does it cost to book this band???
Top tune, top band, shame about the zombie audience.
The audience haven't a clue what they're clapping. 😂
Great band but miss the original singer janet. Knocks spots off this pretender.
