Joan Rivers on Jimmy Kimmel (1/24/11)

Jimmy's guest is comedienne Joan Rivers. Joan promotes her new series, "Joan and Melissa: Joan Knows Best." During the interview, she makes jokes about the Critics Choice Awards, the movies "The King's Speech" and "Precious." Kimmel asks Rivers about her new reality show, which portrays her relationship with her daughter Melissa, and questions why Joan redecorated Melissa's house and tried to get her to pose topless for Girls Gone Wild. Rivers explains that they wanted to show a real mother-daughter relationship and that they did not set anything up for the show. She also talks about her comfort with having cameras around and her daughter's privacy concerns.

Rivers was hugely entertaining. She just never faltered nor failed to get ANY audience to ride that kahuna wave of endless laughter that very few comics could create. Via her substantial television/online recorded material we are not deprived. We shall be able to experience her gifts at only a touch away. I think she would be pleased about that. R.I.P.

When I was younger and I would watch the show and I thought it was the greatest thing ever but obviously now looking back a lot of it was scripted. I always thought it was 100% real but you can tell it was scripted.
