I like both, that's why I have both types of fuzz on my pedal board...and distortion and suboctaver to mix the different sound options. I love it because it makes a lot of fun. 😊

Can confirm, the power option was offered when I purchased the germanium one. Dude was super helpful.
I’m not a pedalboard kinda guy, so the battery was all I wanted.
Think I need the silicon as well after this vid, cheers Buddy!! 😎😅

When you order the pedal, you can choose the “with led” and “ dc powered” options.

you could just say "silicium" ;-) But I'm still a Ge-guy. Nice and helpfull demo for those in dubio between Si or Ge.

I just think it’s hilarious, how most people bought this myth of the NKT275 transistor, when Hendrix only used Fuzz Faces with Germanium at all, for about a year. Roger Mayer was already modding them, and putting Silicon circuits in them, during the recording of Axis: Bold as Love, in 1967.
Then, other players looked for Germanium ones, because they thought it’s what Hendrix used until 69’.
Analogman laughed all the way to the bank. He found that most of those NKT275 transistors weren’t even usable, which is why Hendrix went through dozens to find usable ones, when he first was touring in Europe.
He only used Silicon on one album, and in live shows up to sometime in 67’. Mayer put buffers in them, and various other mods, for more gain, headroom, etc.

I like germanium transistors is SOME applications, but I prefer Silicon in MOST applications. Same with diodes and clipping.

Three things in life that never disappoint: my wife’s pork loin with mashed potatoes, Cormac McCarthy novels, and Buddy Blues with a new fuzz pedal.
