Thank you, this is awesome! It might be helpful to see about adding affiliate links to the video. I picked up more Columbia omni-heat gear that I never knew existed until your video :)
Just what I needed. Headed to Anchorage in 2 weeks and need to pick up some hiking pants and a few base layers. Thank you for the tips! Headed to the Columbia store tomorrow.
This was super helpful! I'm going on my first Alaska cruise soon and while every video says "layer your clothes," they don't provide specific examples like this. Thank you!
Thanks for sharing your outfits! I would love to get a new jacket there.. I have one now that is a little too thick and heavy. Hoping the shops there will have some of the items you mentioned LOL
This seems to such a charming place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future when all this is over. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much!
Great video! The most helpful clothing video I've seen! Question: Due to some physical limitations we can only hike a mile. I tried on waterproof hiking shoes and they were heavy. Was wondering if rain boots would be a better option. Thoughts??
Hi, you mention ice climbing. My wife and I would like to do some ice climbing but never done before. Any recommendations. So they provide you with all gear and equipment? Like ropes and belts?
Yes harness, helmets, boots and ropes are all provided by the company. We climbed with Nova adventures and here is a video of our ice climbing adventure ruclips.net/video/0W0XJmaykbI/видео.html
Athletic shoes should be fine during summer around the city. For street wear, it’s really whatever you’re comfortable with. Just make sure you have some rain jacket of some sort for when it rains.
@@TrekkingPals Probably I really don't know... This is my first time going out there and I'm going out there sorta on a vacation but at the same time I'm going because my tribe wants me to go out there and they fund me. Like basically a meeting and the rest is going to be free time. So as long as I stay away from the trails I'll be fine? (I'm going in the Middle/Late July) (They didn't inform me much on what I'll be needing)
Please go and check some of the hiking trails! They’re amazing. Watch this video that you commented on to understand what you need to pack with you as it’s not summer as we know it in the lower 48. Prepare and pack accordingly and enjoy your visit.
None of that protection against the elements works well when you come face to face with a Kodiak 🐻 bear. When he rips holes in the clothing cold will come in and your blood will dampen it and freeze. If your lucky he will finish eating you before you freeze to death. Welcome to Alaska🥺🥺😝

I am sure you’ll find something up there! Alex actually got his rain jacket from a store in Seward because he forgot to bring his.

I’m NOT ice climbing!
I’ll be drinking at the bar🤣

On a good maintained trail that’s short and even I wouldn’t mind trying rain boots if they have a good grip. Thank you for watching

Do I really need multiple jackets if I have a waterproof wind resistant snowboarding coat?
As long as you are protected from the rain and staying warm. A back up jacket is not a bad idea :)
Just booked my trip and we leave in 2 weeks! Do you have links to purchase the items you showed?
That’s exciting! I have most of our gear in kit.co/trekkingpals
What about street wear and in the city? Will athletic shoes 👟 be appropriate?

What brand was your all in one jacket?
Columbia. All our gear is here kit.co/trekkingpals
Does anyone know if it is muddy in Anchorage Alaska during the Summer?
On the trails you mean? They get a good amount of rain in August. It rained a good amount when I was there.

It’s Harding Icefield Trail. You’ll find details about this hike in this video ruclips.net/video/Q0ajKqnY13c/видео.html
@@TrekkingPals thank you, heading up to that area of alaska next week.
Wonderful! Enjoy your trip
Your jackets are too small for layers. I live there.
