Abdul Hakim Murad is always inspiring. I think the closest feeling I had to knowing or feeling the presence of God was when it clicked in me that Islam is what I wanted to follow. Idk how to explain it but I felt a sort of ecstasy. Not something strongly physical, but almost as if a drop of divine wisdom entered directly into my mind. Honestly I’d give up everything just to feel that experience again lol.

Assalamu Alaikum sis/bros. Sh Murad would not see himself as a genius but as a medium to transmit Sacred knowledge; as a sort of servant of Allaah. May Allaah bless all of us with such humility.

( Human beings, We created you all from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes so that you may know one another. Verily the noblest of you in the sight of Allah is the most God-fearing of you. Surely Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware).
    Quran 49:13

God can not be known directly by the sensory faculties like touch and seeing, he asserts... but, can be heard??

    • @tayyabshahzad688

God can be heard, yes, if His word is conveyed through an intermediary (i.e. the Prophet (s.a.w.) ).

Incredible wisdom here. However always referring to God as HE when talking toChristians and Muslims, is always defended by comments like, ""well you know what I mean". The truth is, is that majority of people in both traditions still see God as a male figure, and don't think beyond that, and God forbid you believe otherwise. Both these traditions pride themselves on the importance of compassion and kindness, and good naturedness, however (again) God forbid you dont believe what they believe. So all this hatred and anger and brutal History between these different traditions, and even within ALL the different sects of these traditions comes from this insistence that THEY know God and you don't. But if one is a pacifist, kind hearted and considerate human being and try your best to live ,love, and worship God in your own way (not necessarily in Arabic) You are STILL considered a non believer. In this day and age I find it sad that humans are still stuck in these 10th century formats.I would appreciate criticism and comments and thoughts on what Ive just written. I mean NO offense, I just would love to try to understand how folks are holding onto rigid belief systems in such a wonderful diverse world. Secondly if Islam is such a tolerant religion, then What has happened to NON muslim communities in every Muslim dominant country?. If we are to speak of Europe, England and USA as being tolerant and open, then wheres the tolerance in places like Egypt and Iran Iraq etc. I recently had a wonderful trip to Morocco and this was pointed out to me by a young Moroccan College student. Simply there are No Jews and Christians, end of story he said, and thats what he was Not proud of.

Im unable to fully understand what your trying to say. I think a disbeliever is the one who disbelieves in the Quran and the prophet Muhammad peace be upon him after getting to know the sufficient information. Now I dont really know what the sufficient information about Islam is in order to make someone believe. And theres an ayah where Allah says that he will not punish one to whom the message isn't clear. Also Allah emphasizes that prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is only responsible for a clear notification. I acknowledge that there are spiritual traditions through which you can know God. But thats not Islam’s message. It is to believe in the last day, the prophets, the verses of Allah, the angles.
And the third person masculine thing is not really a problem, thats only to make everything more comprehensive. As the sheikh said the anthropomorphisms is to be understood metaphorically.
I think you should really look at the stories of Islam and read the Quran.
I look at the religion as a clear explanation of reality. I can understand that God wanted to make the message clear so we may comprehend. Infact he says that many times over in the Quran.

I think Im all over the place in my last reply because I have lot of things to say.
You mentioned worshipping god in any way people want. And thats totally fine with me. I think all pf the spiritual traditions lead you to the same path. Like in Hinduism, mukti which is the unity of the self and brahma (supreme being in hinduism), nirvana in buddhism, which is complete annihilation of the self and fana in Islam, which is the realization that only Allah is eternal and alive. And you see the descriptions of all of them, youll be shocked by the similarities between these traditions.
I believe that all those experiences are the same but belief is what matters. If you believe in Hinduism your gonna call your experience mukti and your god brahma along with his manifestations. And so on.

I think most people who believe in religions other than the abrahamic ones have a pre assumption that god doesn't or cannot speak to human beings. And because of that abrahamic religions sound absurd to them. In the abrahamic religions god is literally speaking to you. He explains reality in truth.
Allah says that he created human beings to worship him alone. But he has also sent you on a planet where you live with others and have many responsibilities which you have to fulfill. And in return theres a never ending reward for the never ending thirst of human beings. And theres hell because theres only one life which you cant waste. And every matter is already decreed. People dont leave this faith because they fear all of this could be true and they will be thrown into hell. And they stay in the faith because they see how perfectly it compliments the reality, which makes it certain for them.
Thats why averagely you will find only muslims who take their religion seriously.
