Dude are you even freakin serious????? I know I’m late to the party but this is as close to STEP BY STEP instructions as you could ever get!!! Great work! When it’s time to do my 212 I’ll be coming here and ordering through your links and following your video. Thank you so much for this!
absolutely wonderful video, from someone who can do this blind folded or someone who has never seen the inside of an engine with your videos they should feel like a pro
I always enjoy your videos I never knew the small engine world was so big and I've learned a lot from watching you and others building them keep it up in can't wait to see this running.
Absolutely love the new start tune.If you heard it though my speakers connected to the comp...wow,was I surprised.(Maybe neighbors too.LoL).I hope you and yours continue to be Blessed.
Kool video, your getting really good at this now!! Was considering a pit bike project to test my skills, but these small engines are starting to look appealing. Thank you an keep up the great work!
Just recently have gotten into minibikes and go karts. Going to be enhancing some motors soon. Thank you so much for the awesome videos and tutorials. Go Red!
i love this channel its so informative and very professional Red Beard my friend you are amazing and i love what you do on this channel and how you help others thru your plethora of knowledge thank you so much for everything you do on this channel.
Damn I love these videos. There's something so satisfying about watching you guys build these little engines.. This one is damn good looking too. It's almost a crime to hide that rod and flywheel inside of this motor though!!!!
I like that lamp in the background. You’ll shoot your eye out. My favorite Christmas movie. I just did a 212 non hemi build. I did your governor removal like this vid shows along with a flat top piston, aluminum flywheel, mod 2 cam, 22mm carb, 22pd springs and a header pipe. I’m not going to be pushing this engine really hard so I hope the rod will hold up. I have a billet rod and flywheel and a 265 cam 24mm carb I’m putting in another engine I just got from harbor freight along with other stuff I have to order. Your videos really help alot.
I am new into mechanics. And small engines is my starting place. Thank you for the link in the description. I am going to make this my first project go kart.
fasteddie3333-bought this stage 4 kit followed instructions, my motor seems very tight, I am sure it's the valve lash. Been running it 4 month's ,Karting RWB-Winning a lot, very hard to start, once it is running no problem. I went back looked at your valve position and ,002 & .003.-curently running .005 both valves. i will reset them after reviewing. Thanks Guys-JIR Raceway-Maxville ,FL
Greg that was brilliant mate, the time you and becca must have spent on filming that , stop starting for angles to shoot the best shots from to the Voice over and explanation of everything then the Hours spent in Editing it to a finished video. A Huge thankyou for all that work I think that you have a excellent tutorial for a lot of people to refer to ( IF you could even buy a Predator engine in Australia it would be handy Lol) In watching that I thought of something you are lacking and might want to incorporate into your tools How about building a Multi Mount Engine stand at the right height (AND weight to stand the vibrations) for you to work on it . This would be, when you finish an engine, you can mount it to the stand for the run in period instead of waiting for a suitable frame or Kart to put it in it would make it easier to fine tune the engine on the stand, adjust anything and also do the first oil change after the run in period etc You then have a completely finished engine on the shelf or ready to be used immediately you have, what ever it is you are putting it in. Saves the back in bending over, and standing on the engine, while you are trying it out just after the build ! Grin who mate maybe a saleable Item for other Engine builders out their ? Tony From Western Australia
Gday Tony, I Googled the Predictor eng. and u can get them in Australia but the same eng. that costs around $200 costs around $700 here!!! Might be cheaper to have one Shipped over.!? Spent a couple of years in MUKINBUDDIN and SOUTHERN CROSS In the 70s. (Frikin FLY'S!!!!!!!!!!) in my teens:) Don from Melbourne
Started watching your channel. Subscribed after one video I think this one, and now there is a predator 212 (hemi) in my living room with the stage one kit.
I'm 67 years old and I used to rebuild automatic transmissions for a living and I have to say at 4 minutes and 29 seconds in your video I like your organizational skills, most people in my trade did not have that and their bench looked like a pile of crap all the time. I used to start with an empty bench and when I was done I had an empty bench not **** laying all over the place, and I would lay everything out nice and neat in the order it came out and it made it so much easier
Okay ..I must say this was a very nice and educational video!! I just dont know why after a beautiful build you would not turn that puppy on for us to hear how beautiful the work was.... I dont know after all that time spent watching at the end I was stumped.
I've never used them in my shop, but I know a few companies make taps for use in the field that are specifically designed to be driven by impact guns...to be fair I've only seen them in the 1"-8TPI range.
@Jesse 4R it is his channel and he can do as he pleases with it. Just my opinion, it distracts from the video. But like I said it is his channel and he can put the music as loud as he pleases.
Hey Red Beard, I love your videos very informative. Just a side note, at 14:14 you mention Torqueing the head to the block to 20-foot-pounds, I would advise against that if your not using posts like you have in the video. I was following along with your video and didn't realize you had posts vs my stock bolts and I totally snapped the bolt off in the block at 20-foot-pounds. I believe it should be 17-foot-pounds if youre using stock bolts.
I'd like to see a hemi version built to the max! Like Patrick Smith I can now take apart and rebuild my 212 hemi predator thanks to RBG! I am building a BBR tuning motorized bicycle with this motor. Any hints to make it fit appreciated as it is very tight. Also can I make it produce 12 volt for lights as I want to make it road legal. Never did any mechanical work in the past RBG is a great teacher!
Red Beard. I have a race cart frame. Im going to do a stage 3 build on a 212 hemi ( which I will be able to do so from your video. Thanks). My question is...what clutch do you recommend?
Great build video. Amazing output power for the 212 cc motor. I would like to know what it can do on Propane . I think that motor would have a long life on propane . Do you do 40 hp and up mods ?
Dude are you even freakin serious????? I know I’m late to the party but this is as close to STEP BY STEP instructions as you could ever get!!! Great work! When it’s time to do my 212 I’ll be coming here and ordering through your links and following your video. Thank you so much for this!
You make these videos straight to the point, You explain every thing very clear and you dont waste no ones time. Thank you Greg, Ryan!
Kurt Lamprecht you’re the worst kind of person
K
@@kurtlamprecht93 im not sure what that was about man but it was kinda cringy
Haha my thoughts exactly 😂 my plan is to just buy the tilotson built 212 eventually and stick with my stage 1 kit with gov bypass 😅
absolutely wonderful video, from someone who can do this blind folded or someone who has never seen the inside of an engine with your videos they should feel like a pro
This would be a good choice of engine for a 2003 mazda protege
And let's not forget 4 turbos
Use the predator as a gigantic "nacho" rotor for a wankel engine.

Lmao I have a 03 Protegé5 😂
I am 62 yo and I can now take apart a clone engine and change out and modify. i learned by watching RB.. Thank you
Thank you for supporting us
Simon Roscoe nothing like taking it apart realizing everything is missing and you can’t put it back together
I always enjoy your videos I never knew the small engine world was so big and I've learned a lot from watching you and others building them keep it up in can't wait to see this running.

Nice detailed build red. Can see everything and music is good, overall 9+. Cant wait to see the mini bike rip.
Just recently have gotten into minibikes and go karts. Going to be enhancing some motors soon. Thank you so much for the awesome videos and tutorials. Go Red!
Glad to see videos like this since I've been planning a similar project but with a stroker kit as well.
Great job RB! Going to build at least 2 of these to start cart season with!
Excellent clarity, breakdown, and attention to detail that thing is going to rip!!
Never thought about removing the governor gear. Now that i think about it, why haven't I? Less rotating mass. Good work Greg! 👍
Dont mind me, im just here watching some stuff im never gonna do
Said every RUclips viewer ever.
Did I ask

I caught your slight of hand trick when installing the rings on the piston. Good video.
Awesome detailed video.i am currently tearing down a 212 that came out of a generac generator.this is my first build

Had to stop half way thru.... Great vid man . Showing how to use the plastigage. Great quality and editing man . I shall continue now😂
Thank you brother
Can you explain further on crankshaft bearing should it not be in spec using plasti-gauge, are valves set TDC ?
Nice Build RB, surprised you didn't use a Hemi head engine! Can wait to see and hear it run! 👍
Excellent video!!! No details left out. Thanks for that. I'm amped up to mod a predator motor lol

Awesome very nice job on the build. Keep these builds coming very enjoyable. Thanks.
Always love these engine build videos!
Awesome build video, now im going to make a cut cover for clearance checks.
Can't wait to see and hear that engine. Great video
Dam proud of ya doing great work. With help from Go Power sports.

Great video that is very informative yet simple to understand. I just so happen to have an eerily similar setup and I love it !
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome video. Great detail and i really like the side note on what size tool your using.
Looks bad ass! Cant wait to see that bad boy in the mini bike!
I'd love to see that on a longtail mud motor kit! Before and after results
Literally couldn’t have made it any clearer, very nice !
Love these videos, just can't get enough.

Very informative man!
With an impact to cut threads. Oh god.
He obviously graduated from jerry rig university 😂😂
Hes built tons of em and never had a problem so geuss itll be fine
I've never used them in my shop, but I know a few companies make taps for use in the field that are specifically designed to be driven by impact guns...to be fair I've only seen them in the 1"-8TPI range.
That's what I was thinking
Do the same all the time when I have 50 holes to tap never had any trouble. Everybody is a critic on RUclips.
Love the harsh metallic sounds not sure why
I need one but for a 26 inch bike what's your thoughts after this ordeal were all dealing with. Bless all
Man this looks good.
Excellent video.
Great write up!
Great video man. I agree about the music. Don't use it or at least turn it way down.
@Jesse 4R it is his channel and he can do as he pleases with it. Just my opinion, it distracts from the video. But like I said it is his channel and he can put the music as loud as he pleases.
Great videos.... You do it right!
Nice video! Thanks
What kind of clutch did you use on the 212 Predator stage 4 rebuild
Awesome video
Hey Red Beard,

Hey man awesome video 👍
Are you using corse or fine grit valve grinding compound on the crank / Flywheel
The best channel on youtube
Thank you for tapping with the drill! People FREAK when I do that.
I use one every time and never messed one up.
I have this same set up minus the carb and it pulls hard sounds good with a choppy cam
Nice video !!
Yah man. That intro music. Love it.....subscribe!

This is so badass

Cool video 👍 😎👍
does anyone know if I take all linkage off top and leave the governor bolt swaying there and not take it out will it leak now or no??
Can you link somewhere to buy the bolt to block off the governor?
