That looked so good!!! This recipe is amazing. You guys did great! If only I had a family who liked menudo. I live where it's nothing but white people here. hahaha. So I have to head to coropolis, PA to get my menudo. It's well worth it. It's about 45 minute drive, just to get that. I get 2 and have the second bowl the next morning. haha. I grew up in a mexican family(I'm 10% mexican) from Texas but I don't visit anymore. My grandpa was all crazy aout having menudo EVERY SATURDAY. I spent my senior year in HS eating menudo with grandpa on Saturdays. (not every saturday but it was a thing.) I spent the morning of my graduation, eating menudo. He just passed away on April of 2024. That was really tough and didn't make it to his funeral. So, eating menudo can get pretty emotional for me now. I moved up north close to Pittsburgh 18 plus years ago, and the mexican food ain't nothing like Texas. It's .... good, but i miss the TexMex a lot. I'm just glad I can get menudo nearby But first, I gotta call. You know what it's like for a white persont o call a business that only has employees who only speak spanish? lol!!! My man has a chicano coworker, so we have him call to ask if they got it for the day before we go for that long drive. That reminds me, after this video, oh man, i'm craving! So, looks like I'm taking a trip tomorrow or Saturday to get my menudo to start off the year. I could never be able to find the ingredients and only I like it so it would be a waste. Thanks for sharing!
I'm so glad you made a RUclips channel Sofia. Menudo is and always a tradition in my family for Christmas, New Year's, family celebrations, aswell as church functions. Also, for hangovers (my uncle's always asked for menudo on the weekends😂)! I have a huge family. My grandma (mom) that raised me was such an amazing cook aswell as all my Tias. When I was little eating these types of meals were the best memories. When we all ate at the table at the same time. When times were simple and there were no electronics to keep us occupied. It was about family and being with your family making great memories. These days it's different. My grandparents on both sides of my family are with God in there forever home. So meals like these bring back all the wonderful times of my childhood. Now, I'm 47 and I make some of the meals I remember how my grandma made. Which my kids love. I'm looking forward to watching more of your cooking videos. You remind me of how my grandma and my family cooks. If TikTok does go away I'm glad you're here on RUclips, especially that you go more into detail with ingredients and how you clean and prepare your food. Thank you Sofia in all what you do. It feels good to know that there are people that still do traditional cooking.
Thank you friend for all your support I’m so happy you found me here and I already like the fact that I have the time to show all steps still learning so thanks for sticking around ❤️🫶🏽
