Could Ancient Sea Monsters Still be Living Deep Within the Earth?

The existence of sea monsters has been a popular topic for all of human history. ancient man had stories of giants and dragons coming from the sea and swallowing entire ships. we have proof these monsters existed at some point from the fossil records but where did they go? did they die off with the other dinosaurs millions of years ago or did they escape to the subterranean oceans scientists now believe exists within the earth's crust where they lie in wait for a time when they will return to the surface as spoken of in ancient mythologies and lore from around the world. These mythologies speak of a time when an evil figure will awaken this aquatic beast and cause destruction on the earth.
