My husband hated using lotion,or getting his hands so soft, but when they cracked and bled he'd have to use something! He found out about a type bag balm was pure lanolin and bees wax. It was in a plastic jar, gold trimmed in red. The stuff inside was yellow. He got it at the feed store. Hed put it on at night, and you can put a cotton glove or old sock. There are some other types bag balm but they weren't as effective, and cornhuskers was just like using water!!!
My son-in-law's mother was a principal at a church school, there was a little boy who kept using bad words, so she told him she was going to wash his mouth with soap and water! She took him to bathroom, used soap and water, she asked him if she got them all out! He said "no teacher theres one still way back there"!!😅

We have the meat and potatoes of who we are in common. They are so funny, Its nice to see they are serious when needed but really enjoy each other and can LAUGH together without getting angry. I absolutely LOVE Tippers laugh. She has a precious from the heart laugh, it makes me smile every time I hear her! You can truly see the bond and love this family has for one another. This was really fun to hear these stories. I didn't build houses for a living but I did carpenter work quite a bit and still do it today now that I'm retired. I can certainly relate to a bunch of those that Matt was telling about. Really, you know, people who do real work generally have some of these stories to tell because, an occasional injury of some sort is just part of it. One time I was trimming some bushes with a chain saw and I cut my knee real good and had to go to the urgent care and when my wife got home from work, all she found was a bunch of bloody gauze's on the kitchen counter and when she tried to call me I was being sewed up and couldn't answer the phone. I'm still in trouble with her on that one....

I too have had my throat cut by a piece of food or a large pill that scrapped and got stuck. Raw Organic Honey works to heal and soothe. Any wound that just won't quite heal, heals quickly using Honey. Now I put Honey on my cuts, cover them in a fabric bandage or paper towel, and tape. Wounds heal fast, Honey is antibacterial.
God bless the Presley Family. I love you all in Christ. Warm hugs from northern California.

Poor Matt! Honey IS the key. Warm some on the stove with 1/2 c. of lemon juice. My mom always gave us this when we had sore throats. You got to be careful popping things in your mouth without thinking about it. I did that once, with a Shaker lemon pie I'd made, where you use the entire lemon, slicing it into thin, round slices. My brother was visiting, and we were about to go for a walk, but I was cleaning the counter first. The pie was sitting there, and in the empty space left after we'd cut our pieces out, a single, round lemon wheel was just sitting there. I popped it into my mouth without thinking, and it went down my throat WHOLE, where it flipped over and lodged firmly, cutting off my air supply! I ran into the living room, and my brother knew at once what was wrong, though afterwards he said he had no idea how he'd known. He jumped up and gave me the Heimlich maneuver. The lemon wheel popped out and flew clear over to the other side of the room, and after we'd both recovered (He said I'd scared him to death) we put on our coats and went for our walk.

Tipper I'm a little behind, but this info is still relevant: Companion planting can be useful in repelling squash bugs. Try planting nasturtium, catnip, garlic, onions, radishes, marigolds, calendula, and tansy around your plants that are commonly affected by squash bugs
I copied & pasted that for you. I know you love nasturtiums & onions so I guess you could just interplant those things in your problem spots.

When I worked for Ma Bell, I had to work in buried cable at times and it had jelly in it. If you got cut, a regular band aid wouldn't stay on five minutes. Enjoyed the reminiscing about the older men and their shenanigans….although, my stomach is in knots hearing about the accidents-the losing the fingernail just about got me 😮

Maybe try a rain chain so the plants under to overhang get water? Comfrey root mixed with buffered vitamin C (put on gums) heals gum recession! Nice metal/wood bed.

When I was a teenager I saw a lady with 3 boys take a cake of soap and washed his mouth and left him standing there crying. Did that with my oldest daughter when she was 8 or 9 and it served as a lesson to the other two. She is now about your age but still mentions it occasionally. She has twins too. Boy and girl, that just turned 20.

Y'all got things looking real good. I remember when we would eat fish sometimes we'd get a bone stuck in their throat that wouldn't come out and all the old timers would say eat a piece of hush puppy or some bread and push it on down. Man if my throat got scratched it would hurt for 4 or 5 days in Mama's old timey remedy was take a little bit of honey and it helped a little bit

For your dry hands try some Watkins Petro-carbo salve. If mine are really dried out and cracked in the winter l will sleep with a pair of cotton gloves over it. A can will last for years.
    The stuff works
