I had an Uncle with downs syndrome and my Grandparents also had trouble finding him a school. So my Grandparent's and another couple started their own school!! It is still a fabulous school that my Aunt is running now. It's called The Sunshine School in Rogers Arkansas. I have to say that you're brilliant!! You have an intense, incredible insight on nature and beautiful things and you have a deep understanding for beauty, passion and for every living thing. You're eye is so powerful! GO FOR IT!! I'm proud of you! This is by far THE BEST VIDEO ON ATTITUDE'S CHANNEL! I am a photographer also and I see so many things, and like you, I HAVE TO PHOTOGRAPH THEM! Carlos is an example of someone with Down Syndrome who has average or better than average cognitive abilities. As with autism, there is a broad spectrum of abilities with Down Syndrome. Impressive, talented young man. Actually multilingual!!!!

Carlos definitely challenges so many stereotypes and barriers about people living with Downs syndrome. Putting the negative attitudes in the medical field to shame, instead of feeding new parents of (DS) children with outdated ignorant info that contains limiting beliefs. It's obvious to most of us that there are more important and positive factors to consider/discuss with them. Like sharing the potential milestones and positive impacts a child with DS can have on a family and the local community.👨👩👦🥰💜 Yes Carlos might be the exception to the rule, but parents/carers of these children need to know their child's potential can be treated with no limits, only hopes to success.💖

His command of language - (excuse me LANGUAGES,) is exceptional. Language facility is unique to each person, Downs or not. Not all people have linguistic fluency or aptitude. Moreover, the fact that Carlos has the 'extra chromosome'..means he is on a spectrum - as we ALL are. His range of abilities is wide, and far reaching. This notion of individual potential is something that (sadly) often gets lost when parents are told early on, "you are pregnant with a Downs baby", or "I wouldn't expect too much of this child.." Lucky for Carlos, his parents never seemed to have felt that way. The encouragement he received, and the nurturing, gave him a way to embrace his UNIQUENESS and perspective. One that far surpasses any diagnoses he could have received. If only all doctors and parents were so enlightened....

I believe those of us who have had hardships in our life are blessed with a soul and heart of a compassionate and loving depth for others who have a need for a hand and a respect from others for the hardships they live with. Carlos is an example of someone with Down Syndrome who has average or better than average cognitive abilities. As with autism, there is a broad spectrum of abilities with Down Syndrome. Impressive, talented young man. Actually multilingual!!!!

Carlos definitely challenges so many stereotypes and barriers about people living with Downs syndrome.
Putting the negative attitudes in the medical field to shame, instead of feeding new parents of (DS) children with outdated ignorant info that contains limiting beliefs.
It's obvious to most of us that there are more important and positive factors to consider/discuss with them.
Like sharing the potential milestones and positive impacts a child with DS can have on a family and the local community.👨👩👦🥰💜
Yes Carlos might be the exception to the rule, but parents/carers of these children need to know their child's potential can be treated with no limits, only hopes to success.💖

This man is a wordsmith
His command of language - (excuse me LANGUAGES,) is exceptional. Language facility is unique to each person, Downs or not. Not all people have linguistic fluency or aptitude. Moreover, the fact that Carlos has the 'extra chromosome'..means he is on a spectrum - as we ALL are. His range of abilities is wide, and far reaching. This notion of individual potential is something that (sadly) often gets lost when parents are told early on, "you are pregnant with a Downs baby", or "I wouldn't expect too much of this child.." Lucky for Carlos, his parents never seemed to have felt that way. The encouragement he received, and the nurturing, gave him a way to embrace his UNIQUENESS and perspective. One that far surpasses any diagnoses he could have received. If only all doctors and parents were so enlightened....
