I live 10min walk other side of Hilda St - Carrington Boat Club. would change my life getting your take on the area, as the club lets me check out Kayak/Canoes. I'd be be able to walk there with my Daughter for a quick after work fish. It will save me from continuing to search for old knowledge of the area. All the old boat home fella's in the area all have stories of what visitors catch, but nothing with consistent information or rig. Just fish tales.
Yeah I know that area, I’ve fished landbased off the rocky point around from the boat ramp there. I’ve only caught bream, catfish and small bull sharks there…haven’t been in a few years now but I would think with the right timing you would catch a thread fin there from time to time..it’s 10-12m deep straight off that rock wall then shallows around to the left looking upstream..good ambush spot for fish I reckon…good luck
On the pa17 i only have a basic lowrance 5 down scan 5 incher screen, do you find the side scan of any use? Or you still just mainly look at the downscan? Also like us sometimes you catch heaps sometimes you catch next to nothing. Also what bait do you use for the bullies as I would love to get Melly onto a bully out of the Hobie.
I use side scan mainly to find structure but also schools of fish, I’m keen to upgrade to a ultra HD image though…I’ve always just used chunks of mullet for bullies..everyone raves about freshwater eel but I find mullet works same same…
Deep sections all through that part of the river aye…haven’t fished it before so will give it a crack for another episode..thanks for the idea 😄…so much fresh recently so haven’t really been fishing 😅

@@farcanalfishing yeah we have tried fresh water eel to no luck here on the sunny coast before.
Try launching from Dutton park recreation hub some time. There is a very deep hole behind the far pylon of the bridge to UQ.
