I misspoke a bit in the intro saying that I'm only using the sample to make the song, but that's not true. I meant to say it's based around the sample 😅

My name is Janus Rasmussen, and for this weeks episode of Production Tricks, I'll go over how I create a track using samples from the video game Among Us. This was apart of the challenge over at Yalcin Efe's channel.
Yalcin Efe video:
• 4 PRODUCERS FLIP THE S...
The point of these videos is to deliver clear and concise information that is easy to implement, so I'll be keeping thing brief!

Just a beautiful track! 😊✨
Thank you for having me! 🙌
All my love to Sweden ❤️

"It's not a big project, only 40 tracks"
**cries in Ableton Live Lite**
Haha, aw man I'm sorry about that. But to be honest, this track could've worked with a lot fewer tracks 😋
man i somewhat don’t want your channel to grow at all cause i just want to keep all of this GOLD to myself
Haha! Well, the channel can still afford to grow a little bit more 👀
Oh my god can't believe i never searched for you online! You are a really big inspiration, just found your channel and am going to be studying from your videos for the next days. Hope everythings amazing and a big hug from Chile
Thank you very much! Happy that you found my channel 🙌
Big love back to Chile! I miss that lovely place.
Only 6 minutes in man... you're amazing. I found you on Yalcin's channel. Thank you brother
Really loved this track. Thanks Janus for posting it! We liked all four songs, but we liked yours the best!
Thank you very much! I think everyone did a great job on the challenge :)
Man, I absolutely loved this track so much, it's so magical! 🤩Also, can you show us some arrangement tips, like how to get from loops and ideas into full tracks? 😬
Thank you for watching 🙌 that's a great idea, thank you for the suggestion!
+1 on this one, a video on arrangement would be awesome!
Such a treat to have this track deconstructed! Love your style in music, I'm inspired to work more on developing my own style :)
Thank you very much! I'm happy to help 🙌
Dude such a mesmerizing take on that sample
Really beautiful and jolly. As Yalcin said, it's perfect for game music. It will be amazing to see live stream workflow videos from you. Refer to Mike Shinoda's stream for maximum music production live streaming inspo - dudes got it down so well... started with literally recording from his phone when lockdown hit and improved the quality super fast.

I saw that he started to stream, he's such a nice and laid-back guy!
I've been thinking about doing streams, but I'm not quite sure how to start really 😅
Such a nice guy! As are you. You both project a beautifully balanced, chilled, happy vibe and share your knowledge in an artful, experienced and skilled way. Your mastery of your craft comes through in your videos. It's inspiring, refreshing, enjoyable, valuable and brilliant.
To give my 2 cents on where to start - I think you can cut down on a lot of time hustling to make entertaining content such as Mike, and keep it super simple - Recorded full session streams of you making music and giving your commentary as you go along - raw, real, uncut. That is the core value to your audience that I assume contains many music producers. If you don't have inspiration for a certain topic, just hit record and fumble about - you'll still be teaching us valuable things. The second content idea I'd love to see is song deconstructions - fully fledged out - like a 2 hour stream going through everything. I don't know the legalities and politics around you opening up Kiasmos files and giving a walkthrough, but if you have that freedom I think it'll be super valuable content. Your songs too, though I assume many of your fans discovered you via Kiasmos, so those orginal songs are legendary and iconic, and I assume will garner a lot of attention. I appreciate you and Olafur going through Looped - that was epic. So yea - 2 topics off the bat are Freestyle Sessions & Deconstructions of your released songs. Gold.
That to me seems like the core of the value. You may be tempted to drift to create 'engaging' content, like making a beat out of lettuce or something, but to me that content should come as a secondary to the primary valuable content, that I assume your audience really wants.
Ps. Thanks so much for all of the excellent content you've produced so far and I cross my fingers to see long streams (Minimum 2 hours? It doesn't have to be in 1 sitting. Perhaps you can break your recording sessions up into 2 sittings and stitch them into 1 video)
Sick! Thanks for providing this deeper insight, your track was dope
Thank you for watching 🙌 happy to hear you like the track!
Janus! Stoked to see a new video! Thanks so much! I’ll definitely be joining your Patreon.
Thank you so much 🙌 definitely check out the discord channel if you join. I want to start a great conversation there :)
I just love tour style. Amazingly hypnotic but not so repetitive it gets boring. Genius.
Is there some special reason why you use that color combination on Ableton's theme? Like, eyestrain or something?
Or is it Live 11 stock theme?
This was very cool to see. Love seeing the inner workings of your art, Janus!
Thank you again for watching my content! Always great to have you back 🙌
Your track and biskuwi's are the best of the episode.
Thank you! I'm flattered that you think so 🙌
How long have I waited for this!!! With love from Russia))
Thank you! Thank you for watching the video 🙌
Awesome breakdown Janus, thanks for sharing!
Thank you for watching, I really appreciate it 🙌
Thanks for sharing, awesome insight.
Thank you very much for watching 🙌
Actually, you use this cool sound again for a bit longer (1sec) on 2:22 LOVE THIS. How did you do that sound???
This is made with the MS-20 the say way as I explained above :)
Love this track. Was waiting for it to come out as a full track. Thank you! I am missing an explanation for one of the ?reverse? Bass sounds. The track on your Patreon page actually starts with this sound and then comes again at 0:32 Did you use the MS-20 for that also?
Hey Jan
Yes, this sound is made by having a high resonance on the Ms-20 filter and then doing takes where you do quick tweaks to get that lovely sweep sound :) I sometimes put some saturation on them to make them translate better in a mix. Then it's just a matter of editing to get them sounding snappy and in perfect time with the track.
Hope that helps.
Looking forward to getting the full track on Patreon! And talking about it on Discord 😁
Yes! Looking forward to see you there 🤩 pretty excited for it
ohh nicee the deconstruct track is up.. loving it Janus

Thank so much for this! I was missing your videos lol. Btw, Janus are you planning on releasing an in depth video about how you use cycles? I remember you did mentioned you would do one lol.
I'm still planning on making that video. Just starting up the engine again over here after the calendar series :)
@@JanusRasmussen lol no pressure. Just sending a reminder. Glad to see you’re back with these! All the best and thanks for sharing with the community your music process!
What are the advanced settings for mini V3 bass? It sounds pretty simple and popular, but I havent enough synth skills to reproduce it :)
Thanks for sharing !!
I think it's just a simple bass present that I tweaked a little bit to fit the song better. Happy to hear you like it :)
incredible
I need to ask, which machine do you have? Everything is running really smoothly
I'm running on a 2018 Mac Mini, six core and with 32 gb ram :) I think I'm still on Mojave.
Amazing work Janus! Can u consider to release this track? If u make it, please share buy link!!! Thnaks for these gold lessons!
Thank you so much! 🙌 I've decided to release all the unreleased music I make on my Patreon. You will find this song there :)
Hey Janus, 2 questions: is the project file for this track part of the patreon membership?
AND how did you make that warm zipper sound? I believe you did it right before the drop and the end (I don't think you showed it here
Thank you
Where can we purchase it btw?
It's available to my Patreons. I launched it today :)
