Secretary Mayorkas has encouraged the flow of illegal aliens over the border and has the numbers to show for it. In FY23, there were over 3.2 million encounters at our borders. From FY21-FY23, Mayorkas touts over 8 million encounters of illegal aliens at U.S. borders, along with at least 1.7 million “gotaways.” The increased flow over our borders has created a crisis - affecting communities, law enforcement and families across the country, and burdening Americans with higher fiscal and human costs.[1]
In the month of September alone, CBP saw a record 341,392 encounters nationwide, with 269,735 of those encounters being at the southern border.
On December 5, 2023, sources reported an 12,080 aliens attempting to illegally cross into the U.S., showing a trend of dramatically increased crossings on Mayorkas’ watch.

MPP was created under President Trump, and required migrants to wait in Mexico while awaiting their asylum hearings. MPP took important steps towards decreasing asylum abuse and illegal border crossings. The termination of MPP was part of a slew of open border policies that encouraged lawlessness and asylum abuse, and made it much more difficult to prioritize asylum seekers with legitimate claims.

During his administration, Trump couldn't remember the items from his first dementia evaluation; he just described the things he saw at the time in that TV interview: the person sitting in front of him, the woman and man off camera, the camera and the TV monitor.

Border Wall Deconstruction
Rather than continuing construction on the border wall, and protecting Americans from illegal drugs, crime, and smuggling that comes across the southern border, the Biden Administration and Secretary Mayorkas have done nothing but make empty promises to border states.
In 2022, Mayorkas promised multiple heavily trafficked areas along the border, including Yuma, Arizona, that he would work to install barriers, and fix holes in Trump’s unfinished border wall. However, according to Yuma County Supervisor Jonathan Lines, it has been almost a year since that promise, and there has been little to no progress. Border states and interior states alike are reeling from the effects of illegal immigration as a result.
To make matters worse, the Biden Administration and Secretary Mayorkas have begun selling unused parts of the border wall that could be used to secure border cities like Yuma. The Administration has sold 81 lots of steel “square structural tubes” intended to be used for border wall panels, 729 hollow beams, with several more lots scheduled to be sold. The sales have brought in a little over $2 million, hardly making a dent in the cost incurred through open border policies.[4]
Since Mayorkas took over, up to $300 million worth of border wall parts, paid for by taxpayers, have been left unused.

As a girl I was a babysitter, including infants. I've changed hundreds of diapers. As a model, I met Trump multiple times: he frequently had the smell of poopy pants.

The border reform bill was not “only” enforcement. It allowed 5000 undocumented migrants a day, 1,825,000 a year, to come in. I’am not anti immigration, some of our best and brightest are immigrants, but it’s got to be controlled and managed.
Also had 60 BILLION for Ukraine. I know it’s done all the time, but tying anything you want to a bill, that’s supposed to be about the border, is wrong.

Inflation remains over three times higher than just a couple years ago.
The average family of four is paying $13,717 per year or $1,143 per month more to purchase the same goods and services as in January 2021.
BIDEN CLAIM: “President Biden and Congressional Democrats are delivering historic Investments in America that are creating good jobs around the country and revitalizing our communities.” The President “put policies in place that have contributed to more than $470 billion in private sector investment commitments.”
FACT CHECK: The “historic investments” made by Democrats don’t help the middle class.
The “Inflation Reduction Act” enacted by Democrats last year gave $271 billion in tax credits to pay for “green” energy projects that even liberals admit are a boon for the top 1 percent.
These out of control “green” handouts are going to cost American communities an estimated $1.2 trillion, according to independent analysis by Goldman Sachs, nearly $1 trillion higher than original estimates.
Companies with over $1 billion in sales receive more than 90 percent of special interest green energy tax subsidies.
Some analysts estimate that banks and insurers alone receive over half of green energy checks, far more than any other industry or sector.

My best answer to why Republicans won't fix the border crisis is the obsolescence paradox. If the problem gets fixed, you can't continue to benefit from the problem. If you create a business where you sell a permanent cure-all for a problem, you will go out of business once the problem is permanently gone.
