I was lucky enough to see them live twice - once in Quebec City and once in Long Island. I drove from NYC to Quebec after work to see them the next day. The energy was just insane. I remember when the shades dropped and I saw the band I’ve been listening since I was a kid - it was just unbelievable! The entire show went by in a heartbeat and I still remember most of it! Rammstein is one of the greatest bands ever with absolutely amazing live performances
Du hast was my engagement-song by accident. My now-husband proposed to me in a beautiful wine cellar that was part of a big hotel in Tyrol/Austria. After the dinner and after I said "yes", we made it upstairs into the hotel bar to celebrate our future. Most of the audience was about 70+ years old, with smokings, nipping on their drinks while listening to some songs from a DJ that fit the location, it was really silent and unspectacular. When we went outside for a quick cigarette, the DJ followed us and after a little talk he realized that we just got engaged. He wanted to play a song for us, so he asked us what our favourite band is - i laughed hard and answered, that he should better try something else, because the old people in the hotel bar wont be amused if they have to listen to Rammstein. When we got inside again, suddenly he started to play Du hast. At first everyone looked kinda shocked, but after a few seconds the whole audience changed somehow. Old couples stood on the dancefloor, shacking to the guitar riffs, a lonley guy sitting on the bar was headbanging a bit - for whatever reason, the old people really needed this :D We cried tears while laughing, it was such a perfect evening. And if that wasn't enough - the DJ changed the lyrics to: "Willst du bis der Tod euch scheidet, treu ihr sein für alle Tage? .... JA!". For people who dont understand german: Till sings " Do you want to be faithful to her for every day until death do you part ..... NO!" The DJ changed it to "YES!". One of the best days of my entire life.
Actually, I am a Rammstein latecomer, saw my first show in Nijmegen, absolutely thrilled...and the more I listen to their songs the more am I stuck by their song texts...Zeit and Adieu are simply beautiful poems
I saw them in the u.k. in the last year they toured, an amazing show and they weren't unhappy but were definitely less energetic than they are now. Guess a break can re energize you and make you miss certain things.
I wonder if there are any other bands out there with an unchanged line up after all these years 🤔. Try listening to this with out taping your feet ot hands to the beat.
