  • Back in 2016, I shared the stage with Dr. Drew Pinsky and Retired US Army Staff Sergeant and Author Shilo Harris discuss the opioid epidemic and addiction issues in this very special interview segment called Listen: Facing Addiction in America. Also featured are Ann Marie Cox, Royce Da 5'9", Joe Walsh, Surgeon General Murthy, R&B singer Mario, Gary Owen, Danny Trejo, Jon Taffer, and Brandon Kneefel.
If you or a loved one is struggling with substance abuse or mental health, please call me: 610-314-6747.

Mario breaking down got to me, it's so easy to judge addicts even as addicts ourselves. Especially when you've dealt with family addiction as I'm sure many of us have or continue too. I'm really glad Dr. Drew changed his mind about maintenance based drugs like Suboxone and Methadone. Without things like that idk if I would've ever went to a clinic, even then it took me 2 years to convince myself to go lol.

You'll never read this but I've been clean for about a year and opioid addiction is no joke it ruined my life and as I deal with it it is cool to see people like you reaching out and helping me feel normal in a world that I don't feel normal in anymore. Thanks man

@@TheBrandonNovak your "i know it all" philosophy really resonates with me i feel the same way but have also always been very aware that I am not above anyone or smarter than the next person or anything like that it was just always "thanks for the suggestion but I Know whats best or whats gonna work for me", and just how you said everything your mom told you as a kid is how you live today, when my son was born I realized (I mean REALLY realized) that she was right and everything my parents told me was from experience and wanting the best for me and my life but me thinking no im dofferent I got this almost put me on a track that alot never get off of, after my son came i realized i can't just tell him what to do and what not to do, I have to be that example for him, I have to walk the walk and not just talk the talk, and for any of that to happen I have to become a better person first, and I still struggle with that everyday but I cant leave it up to the world and pray that someone is going to look out for my son, i have to become that person and be there for him... long story short I had to and continue to have to be a better person for myself so I live my best life and more importantly my son has the role model he deserves and doesn't turn to negative behaviors to escape this world we live in, your an inspiration and its awesome to hear your stories, i wish you and everyone else the best, keep on keepin on
