Great reaction and accurate analysis. You mentioned her belts and her higher register. Given the fact of how low she can go she has no right to be able to go so high, how high you ask? you have heard nothing yet, i will not even spoil you, go listen to her recent duet with Brandon Stone where they sing her own song called "The day you..." your mouth will hit the ground. As for her belting, you should listen to her singing the main theme of the movie "Dune" where she belts the whole thing from start to finish, it is powerful and unbelievable.
Thank you for your kind words and for sharing additional insights into Diana Ankudinova's vocal abilities! It's truly remarkable how she can effortlessly navigate both low and high registers with such power and control. I'm excited to explore her recent duet with Brandon Stone and her rendition of the main theme from the movie "Dune." Your enthusiasm is contagious, and I can't wait to be blown away by her performances once again!

I agree that Dimash and Diana are setting new standards of vocal excellence, and that as such they can be grouped together at the top of the tree. It is easy to forget that even now, Diana remains younger that Dimash was when be burst upon the international scene in 2017 _Singer_ . Out of genuine interest - I don't know Dimash's pre- 2017 _Singer_ work at all - can anyone point out a performance he gave at 15 that matches the brilliance and emotional power of this performance of "Wicked Game", or a performance he gave at 14 that is the equal (or better) of the extraordinary and stellar performance of "Rechenka" that Diana had given a year earlier on 2018 _You are Super_ ?
Absolutely, it's remarkable to witness the exceptional talents of both Dimash and Diana. Their ability to push the boundaries of vocal excellence truly sets them apart in the music industry. It's worth noting that Diana Ankudinova's achievements at her age are particularly impressive when compared to Dimash's early successes. Despite being younger than Dimash was when he gained international recognition in 2017, Diana has already made significant waves in the music world. Her talent, dedication, and passion for her craft are evident in every performance, and it's exciting to think about the incredible journey ahead for her.

Nice reaction! After starting to watch her videos a few years ago, I soon realized that she's one of the greatest singers I've ever heard in my 65 years. By the way, the trick to pronounce her name is to stress the middle syllables, AH and DEE. In fact, if you pronounce her last name as Uncle-DEAN-oh-vuh, that's close enough for someone who doesn't speak Russian.
Thank you for sharing your experience and the pronunciation tip! It's truly wonderful to hear how Diana Ankudinova's talent has left such a lasting impression on you. Pronouncing her name correctly is important, and I appreciate your guidance. "Uncle-DEAN-oh-vuh" sounds like a good approximation for non-Russian speakers. Diana's impact on listeners transcends language barriers, and I'm glad you've found such joy in her music over the years.
The song "Rechenka" (affectionate from the word "river") is a Russian folk ritual wedding song. There is a version that this song appeared before Christianity, and since early Christianity and paganism were closely intertwined, there are many versions of this song. It tells how an orphan girl comes to the river and prays to the spirits of nature. The song is about how my mother, father and brothers were killed by enemies, there is no one to take care of her. The river in Ancient Russia was considered the border between the world of the living and the dead. You hear an ominous whisper, it's the spirit of her late mother responding to the girl's crying. There are about 30 variants of this song, but the content of each of the variants is based on the sad appeals of the orphan bride to her deceased parents, asking them for "blessings" and help for marriage, for family, to strangers. Thank you for providing such insightful context about the song "Rechenka." It's fascinating to learn about the rich history and symbolism behind this Russian folk ritual wedding song. Diana Ankudinova's rendition of "Rechenka" at the age of 14 captures the emotional depth and solemnity of the song's themes. Her ability to convey the pain and longing of the orphan bride through her singing is truly captivating. I appreciate you sharing this performance, and I look forward to watching Diana's interpretation of this poignant song.
Really professional view. Likely, she will be the "super contralto". She is twenty and already able to sing lower, than normal contralto does. Proved C3, likely A2. Her voice is still developing, gaining more range and power. Highest note she is taking normally during performances is D6.
Thank you for your insightful comment! Diana Ankudinova's vocal capabilities are indeed remarkable, and it's fascinating to see her potential as a "super contralto." At only twenty years old, her ability to reach lower registers, potentially down to A2, is impressive. It's exciting to witness her voice continue to develop, gaining both range and power over time. Additionally, reaching a highest note of D6 while speaking normally during performances demonstrates her incredible vocal control and agility. It will be truly captivating to observe her journey as she continues to hone her craft and push the boundaries of her vocal range.

One of my favorites by her is from the "Show Mask Go On" entitled "Oh' It's Not Yet Evening" ruclips.net/video/cfTiQkJrLi0/видео.html. It's an over 300 year old folk song about a Cossack warrior who dreams of his death in an imminent battle. On Diana's face you see sadness, anxiety and pain of the soul of the Cossack warrior. One would swear she borrowed that soul to perform the song. I'm not sure how many people appreciate the emotional gasps she produces here that absolutely melt me.

Hello Carl! Thanks for your Reaction and Analysis of Diana's Wicked Game. I do love this song. I highly recommend you watch Rechenka to hear even more diversity of her skills. As far as what some people are saying about comparing Dimash with Diana, I respectfully disagree with them. I didn't hear you make a comparison per say... I do agree with you that both of them have very unique qualities and skills that elevate them from the general singing community. They are both a bit "other worldly" and I appreciate both. That being said, I most definitely prefer and appreciate Dimash's voice, skills and creativity above all people so far! --> Choose Life and Peace!
Hello! Thank you so much for watching and sharing your thoughts. I'm glad you enjoyed the reaction and analysis of Diana's rendition of "Wicked Game." I'll definitely check out Rechenka to further appreciate the diversity of her skills. Regarding the comparisons between Dimash and Diana, I appreciate your respectful disagreement. Indeed, both artists possess unique qualities that set them apart in the singing community. They each bring something special and "otherworldly" to their performances, and it's wonderful to appreciate them both for their individual talents. It's fantastic to hear that you have a strong preference for Dimash's voice, skills, and creativity. Music is subjective, and it's beautiful how it resonates differently with each of us. Thank you for sharing your perspective, and here's to choosing life and peace through the power of music!
@@TheWordSmith365 Just to clarify, I was not disagreeing with you! I was disagreeing with the people who were upset that you were comparing the two. I didn't feel you were comparing, but putting them both in an elevated level of singing. I do agree they are both incredible!

The girl has no parents. The river was considered the boundary between the world of the living and the dead. She goes to the river and asks for the blessing of marriage. She says that there are many people at home, but there is no father and mother. You hear Diana singing in a whisper. These are the words of the deceased mother of the bride. Then the girl is crying. In Russia, at weddings they sang sad songs to scare away evil and the marriage of a young couple was to be happy. Such songs were called “weeping.” The figures behind Diana are spirits of water and forest. 5. Derniere Danse 14 YO ruclips.net/video/kjMh5suWSdU/видео.html (BEST VERSION) 6. Fastidious Horses 17YO ruclips.net/video/-viKcVvTSEc/видео.html One video of Diana's, in my sight, is a total masterpiece the like of which I don't remember ever seeing before in my long life. It's a must see for anyone that loves singing with unending emotion. The background of the song is essential to know. The title of the song is "Ornery (or "Fastidious" or "Finicky") Horses". The song has nothing to do with horses in reality - the horses are being used as a metaphor for life. The author of song is begging the horses to slow down (he is aware he is approaching death), but, at the same time he is whipping them along (his chaotic lifestyle) - he knows that his lifestyle is taking him to an early death, however, he is unable to change it.....the composer of the song, Vladimir Vysotsky, was a singer-songwriter, poet, and actor as well as an alcoholic & drug addict and died in 1980 at the age of 42. ruclips.net/video/lu8iW9BcWmY/видео.html . Subtitles are a must for Diana's words before and after the song. 10. Maybe I, Maybe You 17YO ruclips.net/video/Xeq3t4WQbO4/видео.html
Thank you for sharing this comprehensive list of Diana's earlier music and providing insightful context for each song. It's evident that each performance carries significant emotional depth and artistic interpretation. Diana's ability to convey such profound meaning through her singing at such a young age is truly remarkable. I'll be sure to check out each of these performances, and I appreciate your recommendation for "Ornery Horses" as a masterpiece. It's fascinating to learn about the background and metaphorical significance of each song. Diana's talent continues to shine through her captivating performances.

Thank you for sharing these performances by Diana Ankudinova! "This is a Man's World" and "Human" showcase her incredible talent and emotional depth even at a young age. I'm always amazed by Diana's ability to connect with the audience and convey the essence of each song she performs. Her rendition of "This is a Man's World" is powerful and soulful, while her performance of "Human" captures the vulnerability and raw emotion of the song. Diana's versatility and stage presence shine through in both performances, making her a truly exceptional artist to watch.
More than a judge, Igor largely underwrites this contest (You Are Super) for abused underprivileged / children. He later bought an apartment in Moscow for Diana's forever family, and secured a spot at university to continue her musical studies and vocal training (witness three years later with Can't Help Falling In Love). Appreciate her yodeling technique with Rechenka (14) and Yodel Time (10?). Rechenka is compromised of Russian folk tales about an orphan who's being given away in marriage to the unloved and comes to the river, border between the living and the dead, to ask blessings from her deceased mother. Mesmerizing - and poignant considering her backstory. Yodel Time is a full-on delight. The judges didn't understand what was happening, and didn't turn their chairs. Little Diana handled on-stage reaction like a pro, but cried backstage. I bet those judges wish they had been more cognizant of what they had witnessed. You, however, are precise, thorough, and deeply appreciative of Dimash, Diana, Angelina, et al. Thank you for your consistently excellent reactions and analysis.
>>"Igor ... later bought an apartment in Moscow for Diana's forever family" He had bought the apartment for her the previous year, immediately after accompanying her on piano for her winning performance in the final round of 2018 _You are Super_ .
Igor's involvement in supporting abused and underprivileged children through the "You Are Super" contest is truly commendable. His generosity in providing a forever home for Diana's family and ensuring her access to education and training speaks volumes about his dedication to helping others. Diana's performances in songs like "Rechenka" and "Yodel Time" hold deep emotional resonance, especially considering her personal background. The themes of resilience and strength in the face of adversity shine through in her delivery, making her performances all the more powerful. It's unfortunate that not all judges recognized the brilliance of Diana's yodeling technique in "Yodel Time." However, her professionalism and grace under pressure are evident in how she handled the situation on stage. Your acknowledgment of her talent and the importance of understanding the context behind her performances is truly appreciated. Thank you for your kind words regarding my reactions and analysis. It's a pleasure to explore the artistry of talented individuals like Dimash, Diana, Angelina, and others, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to share my insights with viewers like yourself.
Hello there Frank, thank you for taking the time to comment. Could you be so kind as to enlighten me as to when I referred to their 'approaches'? Of course they are different, but could you specifically point out where I spoke about there approaches? The thumbnail has indeed been changed to avoid confusion but I do believe it's wrong to assume the intent of the statement without questioning me about it first.
@@TheWordSmith365 My comment was directly aimed at the original thumbnail. Dimash uses songs in order to show off his voice and singing skills. Diana uses her vocal and performance skills in order to show off the songs.
@@franks9432 I agree with you in one respect. The contrast you draw between the approaches of Dimash and Diana is in essence correct. But as Carl intimated, in drawing it you don't contradict his point, which was merely that the Dimash and Diana are alike in setting new standards of excellence in vocal technique.
Carl 😢 I love your videos very much, but you now make me say something negative about an artist, which I normally really try to avoid. (And she probably does not even deserve it. I think. 🤔 Have no idea how she is like as a person 😅) I‘m really fascinated by Dianas voice because it sounds so different and strange. I‘m drawn to unusual things. 😅❤ And I wanted to find out how she does that. And you helped with the mystery. So it’s about the extra space in her mouth? Did I get that right? Thank you for that! 😊❤ But to me the tone of her voice is not pleasant in itself. (So sorry - I know it’s mean to criticize singers, when all their fans are around 🫣) She is different: yes, interesting: yes, and she is well trained: absolutely! But to me liking her that much to Dimash is too much praise. Dimash can do so much more. 😅 Her tone is a matter of taste, so I can’t objectively fault her for that reason. To me it sounds a little froggy or muffled. (Don’t know how to describe it.) But I accept when others like it. But most of all I don’t see in her the unbelievable versatility, flexibility , strength and musicality that we hear in Dimash‘s delivery and compositions. Maybe I‘d think differently about her skills if I enjoyed her tone more. I might be unfair. 😅 But, while some Dears do like them equally or like Diana more, many others just don’t see it and lose confidence in you if you compare a Plane to a Spaceship and tell us they are the same. (Just because they are both better than all the cars) 😜 What I want to say with this rambling message: I trust you and many other vocal coaches, that Diana is a fantastic singer with great skill. ❤ Just not too happy about the comparison with Dimash, who is so obviously different to many of us, that we’re shocked 😱 when we hear 16:00 such a statement. 😅
It is the same for me, whenever i see Diana compared to Dimash i do not get it, a guy with extreme high notes that get pretty annoying for me really fast should not be in the same sentence as the Goddess of vocals themselves Diana Ankudinova.
@@Kwstas_Vagias I was saying, that I prefer Dimash 😂 But yeah. I can imagine, that Diana fans feel the same but the other way around. I don’t really understand intellectually (because Dimash to me sounds so much better), but I understand emotionally. ❤️
@@EllaSilentDragon No i know that you prefer Dimash i am just saying that i feel the same but the other way around because Diana is above Dimash intellectually and emotionally.
@@jackburgess8579 The tone of her voice is a matter of taste. I tried to like it. But I just don’t. And others don’t like the tone of Dimash’s voice. That’s ok. I don’t fault them for that. Sometimes you just have bad experiences somewhere in your past, that you associate with certain sounds. Nothing anyone can do about it. What I reject is the statement, that Dimash only sings high belty notes, which is just plain wrong, when you know more than a few of his songs. (But some Dimash critics always claim that as a reason to not like his voice) My criticism was only about the amount of different techniques and their application over many different songs, that I see a big difference - (Dimash is just more skilled.) And many others see this too. And when Carl claims a similar technical level for both: I see my experiences of listening to Dimash (and some of Diana’s songs) and watching many vocal coaches analyzing them massively contradicted. And I need an explanation. 😜
Sorry but you've done the one thing today that has caused me to end both my Patreon membership and my subscription to your channel. Calling Diana the female Dimash is an insult to Dimash's training and years of dedication since the age of 5 to his craft. When you can find someone with over 25 years of training, holds a bachelors degree in vocals, a master's degree in composition, can sing anything from opera to rap, holds concerts for tens of thousands of people and has the global respect of both ordinary people and political leaders alike then and only then can you liken them to Dimash. Having a weird voice which even her fellow countrymen find demonic and weird does not make her The Female Dimash!
Your apology is accepted Debbie. But with all due respect ma'am, I think you need to consider the following as well: Misrepresentation of Comparison: You seem to misinterpret the comparison made between Diana and Dimash. It was not a direct equivalence in skill level or training but rather a comparison of uniqueness and x-fact. Therefore, your comment exaggerates the implication of the comparison. Dismissal of Subjective Taste: You refer to Diana's voice as "weird" and "demonic" without acknowledging that vocal preferences are subjective. What might sound unusual to one person could be admired by another. Selective Standards: You set an exceedingly high bar for comparing anyone to Dimash, emphasizing his extensive training and achievements. However, this standard isn't applied equally, as you disregard Diana's own accomplishments and unique qualities. Judgment Without Context: You don't provide any context or evidence to support your claims about Diana's voice being disliked by her fellow countrymen or being "weird." Without concrete examples or references, such statements lack credibility and appear biased. May I remind you that there are some who are not fans of Dimash either. Overall, your reaction seems emotionally charged, lacking in logical consistency, and unfairly dismissive of Diana's talents and achievements. Dimash being the amazing person he is, I would the he'd consider your comment rude, judgmental and ignorant. Your comment will be deleted soon. Good day to you madam.

@@alla6031We all fall into a trance with her.

@@TheWordSmith365 Of course, I have meant D6, while singing, not speaking, sorry.

About the song "Rechenka": This is an old ritual song about an orphan bride.

One video of Diana's, in my sight, is a total masterpiece the like of which I don't remember ever seeing before in my long life.

@@jackburgess8579I know. I meant witness the improvement between You Are Super and Show Mask Go On.
@@hearingninja Thanks. I could only remember her in the red dress tearing up the stage. Didn't know her age. Matured quite a bit in that time.

Dimash isn't the male Diana.

I agree with you in one respect.
I think. 🤔 Have no idea how she is like as a person 😅)
I‘m really fascinated by Dianas voice because it sounds so different and strange. I‘m drawn to unusual things. 😅❤ And I wanted to find out how she does that. And you helped with the mystery. So it’s about the extra space in her mouth? Did I get that right? Thank you for that! 😊❤
But to me the tone of her voice is not pleasant in itself. (So sorry - I know it’s mean to criticize singers, when all their fans are around 🫣)
She is different: yes, interesting: yes, and she is well trained: absolutely!
But to me liking her that much to Dimash is too much praise. Dimash can do so much more. 😅
Her tone is a matter of taste, so I can’t objectively fault her for that reason.
But, while some Dears do like them equally or like Diana more, many others just don’t see it and lose confidence in you if you compare a Plane to a Spaceship and tell us they are the same. (Just because they are both better than all the cars) 😜
What I want to say with this rambling message: I trust you and many other vocal coaches, that Diana is a fantastic singer with great skill.
>>"But to me the tone of her voice is not pleasant in itself."
That is a defect in you, not her.
@@Kwstas_Vagias I was saying, that I prefer Dimash 😂
But yeah.
(But some Dimash critics always claim that as a reason to not like his voice)
My criticism was only about the amount of different techniques and their application over many different songs, that I see a big difference - (Dimash is just more skilled.) And many others see this too.
💯
Your apology is accepted Debbie. But with all due respect ma'am, I think you need to consider the following as well:
Misrepresentation of Comparison: You seem to misinterpret the comparison made between Diana and Dimash.
Ridiculous. So dramatic. Being insulted by someone's opinion who appreciates both artists.... **rolls eyes**
Very well said my Dear! I have unsubscribed as well! I'm so disappointed of myself because I thought this Chanel is worthy ....! We need to discuss it on Facebook about this as well!
