In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.

This is my favorite task because of how absolutely genius it is. Every contestant recognized how clever the two tasks were, and they were even applauding Rhod's interpretation of the task. It produced some unforgettable, funny moments that will never be equaled.
The weedy little "I'll get you!" has me in stitches every time.
I was wondering why nobody locked themselves in a bathroom and then tied themselves. Rhod took it to the next level

I was 8 or 9, key to bathroom door broke. Couldnt get out of the bathroom. Dad worked on the lock, and door, using various power tools(including a circular saw) for an hour before calling the fire department who broke down the doorposts with a sledgehammer. Note that the door was still attached to the posts and still locked when I got out...
10 minutes with a few of them eaten up by the siren - the best solutions don't always come to you in time.
Too many people in the comments always talk about their clever ideas to work around the verbiage of the task or do xyz and win. But the point of this isn’t to win or prove you’re a genius. It’s to entertain. Having someone lock themselves in a bathroom or go run errands, clever sure, boring yes. That’s why this show is comprised of comedians and not the general public. These people aren’t merely competing, they are performing. That’s so often lost on many of the people who watch this. At the end of the day, this is a tv show meant to entertain, it’s not about the tasks, it’s about the audience enjoyment.

@PhanTomK90 it has a similar meaning in English. You could describe a cheese as sharp for example.

I have no idea what's going on when the alarm goes off. These editors of this chann are dreadful sometimes.
@@squidge903 they were given a task earlier in the episode saying that when they hear that alarm go off, they have to put on a boiler suit and lay on the floor as fast as possible. Which as you can see, turned out to be for when they were 5 minutes into being tied up.

that moment where the other contestants praise Rhod's genius attempt and Rhod has a surprised and satisfied grin is still my favourite moment in taskmaster history. It was like a cinematic scripted moment from a film, the entire season was building towards it. It leaves a massive smile on my face every time I watch it.
I thought for sure James Acaster was just going to take off running away from Alex as soon as 10 minutes ended. I was so disappointed when he didn't. Thankfully Rhod came through with the genius play.

I mean Rhod's genius is rightfully the focus of this task, but I also admire how well James did despite how much he struggled with the second task and how had barely any time to get anything else done afterward

This one was the task that made me start watching the show. :D I think it was the video "contestants who understood the assignment" that just popped up in my recommended videos and I loved the banter of Rhod and Alex in this so much that I had to see more of it. :)
I'm absolutely with you on that!!! for me it was a "contestants who found the loopholes" video and since that moment I'm so in deep with this show 😅
Rhods method reminds me of what I did when my boss said "you've 10 minutes to stop me from firing you"... Just with less struggling and no international manhunt.

Couldn't you just tie your wrists and start running? If Alex can't find you, he can't untie you! And if you don't hear the siren, you don't have to put on the boiler suit!
My solution was to tie something very thin around my waist that would produce one of those tiny unbeatable knots but I'd have never thought to do what Rhod did
It would've been great if there had been some unaired footage of Alex shuffling along in the chair along with some context as to how the wheelbarrow and car tyre ended up either side of him.
Another task where Rhod uses as an excuse to torture alex and it pays off.

You don't even have to watch this series and you can tell just by the big cheer at the end for Phil getting 5 points, that he was the shittest in this series lol

I just thought of something clever, it said that the slowest to be untied by Alex wins. It never said you couldn’t untie yourself. So first tie yourself up. And when the time starts, untie yourself. Now Alex can’t untie you. So he either has to tie you up and untie you, or untie you show lace.

I couldn't tell you how many times I have watched this. I think the reason the USA TM failed is because none of them probably watched the show. I could crush it as host... Also only now, I realize Alex was being clever when he asked Rhod for "something sharp." I thought he meant like cheese and grapes, but he did just mean sharp

Isn't this the last time they cut to a contestant's reaction in the studio while the task was being shown? Just watched series 8 and I don't think they did it at all there, or any after that.
I would have tied a single rope around my waist, and then spliced and melted the ends together to form an unbroken loop. Can't untie that. You have to use a knife or other cutting device.

Question: what does the alarm here usually convey?
There was a task given earlier in the episode that said the moment the alarm went off, they had to go put on the boiler suit. Of course, the alarm was set to go off halfway through the time to tie yourself up task, so everyone was a bit preoccupied.
The alarm was a different task from earlier in the episode which I'm surprised they haven't included. Earlier in the day they received a task that told them when they heard the alarm sound they needed to put on the boiler suit and lie on the ground as quickly as possible, but there was no alarm and the episode continues on with the task not done. This task takes place presumably several hours later when they've all forgotten about the alarm task.
What he's asking is, what is the alarm there for when not used for Taskmaster? I'm guessing they installed it just for the task

At the beginning of the episode (not included in this video), they were given a task to put on the boiler suit in response to the alarm going off
Of all the people to return in Champion of Champions, why did it have to be Kerry.
Rhod was by far the best in this series, and Kerry was consistently unimaginative.
Kerry’s my least favourite from 7 too, but I guess everyone else was just better.
That being said, I expected her and Ed to dominate COC II, but neither performed that well
Rhod sabotaged himself on the prize tasks. If he took them seriously, he would've steamrolled everyone else.

@@Apokalypse456 1. Knives are not explicitly designed weapons and most Americans carry them for work, outdoorsmanship or utility.
2. Idk what cities you're hanging out in but there are definitely plenty of American cities where you need some kind of weapon. Where I live, robberies and violence are common and the police don't show up for hours.
Nope. Rhod didn't tie *himself* up securely. He tied *Alex* up securely, and then tied himself up pretty loosely. Also, he was never untied *by Alex* , because he untied himself. Therefore, he didn't complete either part of the task (tying *himself* up securely and being the slowest to be *released by Alex* ).
Problem is to define 'securely'. If I tied myself to a boat securely, that means I will not be able to fall off. So the knots only need to be secure enough to not come apart if I am falling.
For this episode, tied securely could mean as little as the knots will not fall apart on their own.
