Also, for the statue of Kalim's dream school I think it basically confirms that Kalim's personality is closer to the sultan(Jasmine's father) in Aladin.
Ok so looking at the update pattern it seems like we’re still far away from the final battle. It seems like we gotta go through every single dorm and every single one that overblotted. Man Malleus is really giving us a run for our money
It's interesting that some comments seem to think this was a bad update-- I thought it was pretty fantastic? Like... Jamil and Kalim did some real talking, even if it was with their fists, which I thought was fantastic. These are boys who have been together so much in their lives, even though we all thought that AT LEAST Jamil was going to dream about his life without Kalim, he couldn't. 1) Kalim expressing his dedication to Jamil by being mad at himself by being tricked by a Jamil chosen out of convenience for him than the real Jamil was super nice. 2) Jamil not treating Kalim cruelly, even when their statuses are reversed. 3) Both of them speaking honestly to each other, with Kalim actually admitting there are things about Jamil he doesn't like! And like, this drop happened while EN got Cloudcalling, where Vil and Lilia agreed Kalim can't do contact sports "because he's too much of a nice boy." 4) Jamil realizing the biggest limiter of his freedom is his own perspective, which is so much more narrow than he wanted to admit. Jamil says a lot about how Kalim never sees him, and that's true. But I think we're starting to get a realization that Jamil never sees Kalim either. (which matches what he says in the Anthology, re: not understanding why Kalim stood up for him against the other students in Scarabia) Jamil and Kalim are both super huge unreliable narrators about their lives, capabilities, fears, and wants and I feel like to move forward with both of them, realizing that they aren't being honest about certain things was a huge step forward. I was so happy about this update, as someone who loves both Jamil and Kalim. It makes me really optimistic about what will happen when the story focuses on them again.
