Beautiful. I learned this in both the original Greek (Tou dipnou sou tou mystikou) and English in 2000 when we began our adventure into the fullness of the ancient church in a small community in Colorado Springs. This is in a nutshell what it means to be an orthodox Christian; everything else is gravy. So much has changed in my life since then, but when I read the prayer at the Lord’s Table every Lord’s Day, I find some solace in the holy memory of this hymn and that simple but loving church. And of the faithfulness of God in receiving us, none of whom are ever greater than the thief at Christ’s side who knew he was not worthy of grace but nevertheless asked to be remembered in His kingdom. Such great faith: a great sinner to steal into so great a Paradise. This is a very nice setting, easy for a small ensemble choir to learn.
a wonderful rendition!
