    Good morning Rita,
You are doing wonderful work and an impressive fashion for your first 3 weeks "on the job."
You are recording an important time in our Country's history from both an ecological sense as well as giving our people hope and encouragement.
Real folks doing great benefit in the Colorado basin... No politics, no whining just good people who love the land and Lake Powell making a monumental improvement in rescue of the lake.
Thank you for being there and telling a story of life, hope and love for this great country of ours.
LONG LIVE THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

Thank you for this. I moved to Page in 1981. I got to witness the lake when they opened the spillways because it was so high and now this low level. Places I once swam are now dirt. My grandson doesn't mind playing in the dirt but I sure mind. There were so many special spots to make memories at. It's been quite heartbreaking for us locals.

@@majorpayne8373 My understanding is the Glen Canyon dam supplies 1300 MW of power 24 seven 365. If you’re going to take that dam apart you will need to find a source of electric generation to replace it.
My suggestion would be to line the coast of the US with large wind turbines. And leave existing Hydro power generation stations like the Glen Canyon dam alone. You really want to offset coal fired power plants and burn less fossil fuels in general.

      @@Spacepup. Hi Scott
It's all in the records super easy to prove.
And remember the lake was full in 2000 .. 911 2001 down goes the lake until 2015 they got it right where they want it.
Look up snow pack in the Rockies for the last 30 years . That's how much water we have it's all in the snow. I had all the records on my old phone. But you can also look up dam lake level records since the first day and you can see that climate change just started in 2001 and ended about 9 years ago.
The lake does have a natural balance it goes and down a little every year as there are no two years the same in snow pack.
The only record I have left to see is the release records maybe you do a digging on that I'm sure their public . But Scott I can tell you that I lived in bullhead city for several years and the river doesn't run high in the mornings in the winter.
What they are saying doesn't make any sense. There have always been droughts in places like California. I live in Oregon and I have only seen about 7 dry days this year. We have plenty of water don't let them bs you Scott.
They could run a dozen plastic pipes up the Columbia River then run them down the coast in the ocean super easy and cheap.
They say the oceans are filling up too and they have giant rivers flowing fresh water right in the oceans. They could help that by taking a little bit of the water in using it for farms right? But they don't and they lie lie lie. Sorry.
So if you look at the records for the lake from the beginning you will see this hasn't ever happened before in the history so what changed climate? Nope just what I said happened 911
Oh ya Scott what do you think the reasoning was for having state police on both sides of the dam until the bridge was built. They didn't want anyone to blow it up.
They're still worried someone might fly a plane into it.
I have known this for many years and I just want to say they started beating the drums as soon as Brandon was elected.
I was watching them roll out one after the other. It's truly amazing the length they will go to.
I know it sounds crazy but we had lots of rain and snow for the last 20 years I ski on it every year and this year we about 5 feet April and may. That's extra snow more water.. there's so much water here we have 3 rivers in my town that end up on the ocean. Thanks for asking I hope you can see for yourself.
      John

We moved to page in 1960, my father was hired to work in the kitchen being built to feed the three shifts of dam workers. Page was a bus stop, a curio shop and bowling alley and a little Chinese restaurant where my dad would work occasionally when he had off days feeding the minors. And S A N D !!! Blowing sand. There was no place to stay so thank God in heaven my dad had a Studibaker and the front seat laid down to make a bed so we would make a huge bed and we would all sleep by the bus station. Eventually on the Utah side a community of trailers Was put together and I believe they called it Glen Canyon city? They had a one room school for all grades and they had a block laundry house on the other side of the block school room. There was a Mormon fellow whose last name was Jensen! He came down from Salt Lake and built a little restaurant and a little motel on the side of the highway and across from that a gas station. He pretty well owned the town. The big kids how to ride a bus every day all the way to Kanab Utah for their school the little kids all got together in that one room school and had their lessons by the same teacher. Somebody built a bar I don’t think it was any of the Mormon people but someone built a bar and that caused a lot of military I was 10 years old and I remember all the fighting and the terrible things that happened in that bar. There was no law-enforcement so the sheriff deputized some of the Mormon men who were straight and law-abiding. I never figured out where they put people when they arrested them probably just took them to their house. Mr. Jensen offered my father the restaurant if he would quit the Dam. My dad was a retired Air Force non com officer in food service. He had owned a restaurant before and he actually met my mother when she was a 16-year-old waitress. So that was a good thing for everybody he no longer had to travel to and from Paige and he and my mom really made that restaurant into a gold mine. I don’t even remember that town having a name of Paige. I just remembered Glen Canyon city the trailer Park . As I recall the bridge was built first because we had to travel over it back-and-forth and the dam was being built in a different location. But the food had to be brought in 24-7 from Salt Lake City and wherever else because there were a lot of men working and they had to be fed three times a day cause there were three shifts. I really enjoyed this and I am going to shut up now and rewind and watch from the beginning. I wonder if that greyhound bus station in curio shop is still there?

As this warming continues there will be a big shift on what can be grown and raised, and where and people will be migrating away from areas that are just not livable any longer. Let’s build a few more big cities out in the desert. Glad I live in Michigan. No water worries here. I have three free flowing artesian wells on my property. People come for the water all the time because it’s so pure. I even keep a sign and a path cleared to get to the one closest to the road for them. Never had a problem in 20 years.

Best educational video of the Upper Basin I have seen so far. Nice laid back pace and you stopped for the written material just for the right length of time. Even the background audio was pleasant ! Great work, I have nothing left to do but subscribe. I am a village elder myself and am rather taken aback by what you were able to accomplish here. Makes a fella wonder where the next adventure will take us ? Cheers. P.S. Lake Powell had risen at the expense of Lake Mead. This area is being " micromanaged " of late.

Never been to this lake, only see images/video. I live down in Phoenix, and Lake Mead is just about done for. The reason Powell is filling back up is because of upper reservoirs releasing water into the Colorado, as well as the Glenn Canyon dam releasing very little water to go into Mead. Keep up the great work, enjoyed your video.

Thank you for the video. I used to live in cortez colorado but now I'm in las Vegas. 6 yrs ago I knew the western area was in a general drought. The lakes in the cortez area was low. Nkw I see the true sights of a drought when I was watching videos about lake mead , just outside las Vegas. It is nearly empty ! I wonder why they let lake powel fill so high when lake mead is nearly empty ? Check out lake mead on utube channel , sin city outdoors . they do alot of videos showing diffrent levels of this lake at diffrent times...i dont even know how hoover dam is even producing electricity anymore , let alone how states on the lower colorado are even watering crops and things of that nature...its sad to see all the dead fish and marine life , lake mead floating cafe and marina floating docks being effected by all this.
