      Hi there - I am sorry but I cannot recall what paint I used to make cell activator. I seem to recall ordering through Dick Blick, but not sure what brand. This was made in Dec 2019 and I have not painted much since then. Sorry I cant be mroe help here. I am sure there are sme more recent creators who might have more up to date info. Good luck! @@lauriepolhamus1607

      Oh and how did you get those toothpicks to stick in the glass to keep the ornaments from falling

    • @JennyPost
      @JennyPost  5 лет назад

      Wow!! Thank you so much! I got the toothpick idea from Erica Hughes, who uses nails in wood. I just put three toothpicks in a triangle shape into the styrofoam, and then I rested the ornament on the toothpicks. It is not connected, just balanced there on the three of them. Hope that makes sense.

    Wow! So so beautiful Jenny! Instead of a turkey baster you could try using aquarium tubing...it is flexible and you can cut it to the length that works best for whatever piece you are working on.

    • @JennyPost
      @JennyPost  5 лет назад +1

      Ohhh! This is a great idea and I think I have some around! I really like it when my mouth blowing does the job because it gives it a nice round shape (as opposed to the fingery shape I get blowing through straws and turkey basters). BUT, they are important tools in this technique! Thank you so much for watching and the tip!

    Poke a popsicle stick or thin dowel into the foam. Place ornament on the stick by inserting the stick into the opening of the ornament. No need for toothpicks which end up removing bits of paint. Both sides of the ornament will be visible so you can see where the paint is going!

      @@JennyPostI don't think anything's ever gonna beat what you just did with that very special piece you just made (the thumbnail for the video.) But I would surely have some fun trying!! I have a gallon of polycrylic I hope will work in your recipe, I recently bought a new set of squeeze bottles thinking I could mix at least the activator that way. We are almost finished with the new (Vol 2 )book and after that is out of the way, I really want to try this! I almost took the course but I figured people would share there alternative ways and so you have. Thank you so much for that! I have to ask you...have you used any straight mica powders? I have a good stash that was ready for resin but conditions are not so amicable for my resin work yet.

    When you want to do that glitter, you want to turn it upside down and drain as much of the varnish out that will drip out then add your glitter. I use polycrylic for it. And it costs amazing and since you dumped the excess out it doesn't move.

      Thank you! I used Atilier Titanium White, and Chroma A-2 Mars Black. Both of those brands are on Dick Blick (and prolly other places too, but that is where I got them)

    So beautiful! Would you mind sharing what you use for your pillow? I tried using your recipe and my pigments dulled as they sat and I think my pillow ate them somehow.

      Hummm. I am not sure what can cause that. The pillow I used on this one was ColorPlace Ready to Use interior paint in Satin. Got it from Walmart.

    OMG, Jenny, your ornaments are incredibly BEAUTIFUL!!!! Your recipe is working SO WELLl!! (Pat yourself on the back, Girl....after removing your gloves and wiping the paint off your hands or you'll be like me with paint in your hair and on the BACK of your top...lol!) Ohhhh, I'm in LOVE with these pigments and the colors you mixed up, Jenny!!!! I NEED some of these ColorArte Primary Elements pigments! (Wondering if there is any room on my Christmas Wish List, or if I need to start another page...... or two or three?! Ya gotta love being a color-obsessed and paint-addicted person!) Oh, I love your idea about using toothpicks in styrofoam as the holder for the ornaments! You are SUCH a clever lady!!
    Hey, I just took apart three pens of different sizes and shapes and tossed the empty ink cartridges. One of them is super skinny. Each of them has a different size opening (where the pen tip used to be). I haven't used them yet but I thought they might help direct my breath when blowing the paint in smaller areas. Have you used pens for blowing? How about oxygen tubing?

      @JennyPost  5 лет назад

      You are so funny! I get paint places that blow my mind... How the heck did I get it there?? LOL. You hit the nail on the head - color obsessed!! I get transfixed by the paint mixing, with all the colors!! So much fun! That is a really good idea with the pens and oxygen tubing. I will have to give that a try. Thank you! Thanks for the kind comments and smiles

      @@JennyPost Yup, I'm with ya.....how DID paint get THERE?!?!?! We should write a book about "Sneaky Paint and the Outrageous Places We Find It!" (or as my husband suggested...."Some Places are Better Than Others to Watch Paint Dry!"...LOL) We can gather stories from all the YT artists! (Hey, us goofball gals gotta giggle!) 💕😘🙏👍🎨 Happy week, Jenny!!

    Beautiful! What does the minwax stain do??

    • @JennyPost
      @JennyPost  5 лет назад

      So, the australian floetrol has an ingredient that the US floetrol does NOT have (Siliconized Styrene Acrylate Copolymer). The pre-stain wood conditioner adds that missing ingredient to the US floetrol (is what I understand).

    Great video. My favorite was the last one with that gorgeous dark red and deep green. Boy we're those colors so rich and saturated looking. What colors were used for that one. We're they included in the 12 Pak? Just gorgeous.

    • @JennyPost

      Thank you! 💜💚💙 That one turned out really pretty. The green is in the set (Green Tea), but the red is not (Hot Cinnamon). The buttery color is one I mixed myself with the Mango Freeze and Interference Gold.

    You make me laugh every time. These are stunning! It's great that the primary elements are getting the exposure that they are through this technique. I have had them for a long time but when I ran out of the vivid enamel a couple of years ago I put them aside
    ...happy to have another way to use them now. They make beautiful collage deli papers on a gel plate too and with resin...omg❤️. May have to pay the exchange and duty and get the winter set (your code will help offset). Looking forward to your next video! Sabrina

    Beautiful, l love your color blends. But what are you talking about when you mention interference? Is that a brand?

    • @JennyPost
      @JennyPost  5 лет назад +1

      Thanks Lucy. quoting from somewhere on the interwebs "Interference pigments are specialized pearlescent pigments that yield distinctive optical effects. These pigments are meant to be used in a transparent fashion over black or dark colors to show their brilliance." I like to use them to lighten darker colors and make them pastel. ColourArte sells a number of interference pigments you can use in your paintings, so check them out!

    Hi Jenny remember me just as Janet from Colorado. Just got done watching this video on your heart ornaments. They are absolutely beautiful my question is what are you using for the white paint that you put on first I looked in the description and did not find that. Also not sure how you're making them stand up is that toothpicks in styrofoam sure is clever. And also I was curious to know how the backside of the heart looks. Thank you for any help you can give me. Hope you are safe and well with this crazy stuff going on. Janet
