Just got a golden doodle randomly a year ago, didn’t know much about the breed before we got him. But lemme tell you seriously the coolest dog I have every met, he’s so calm, loving, smart handsome and gentle it amazed my whole family. He also has a really funny personality and does a lot of things that I’ve never seen a dog do and it’s adorable. He understood just about everything we were trying to teach him extremely quick. Taught himself how to open the door when he was like 2 months old and he goes outside like that since lol. But my golden doodle personally was a really shy puppy from the people we got him from. so he likes his space, he likes sleeping in the bathroom and being alone after his social battery is out. Even from us and our other little puppy, he’ll let us know when he needs to be left alone. Just a bit independent but he’s the friendliest dog ever and just want to say hi and play with everyone. So he was able to be become extremely sociable really quickly, he’s great with all dogs in all sizes, baby’s, vets jusr everyone he’s sweet and gentle too. he plays so funny cause of the poodle, he likes pounces and stalks things like a cat. And he has the best hair I have ever seen on a dog, extremely good looking 75lb dog. But yeah he’s seriously AMAZING completely recommend
Oh man the beginning made me think you were talking about my dog then I look at your name and I see benzo! My dogs name is Enzo but we call him benzo sometimes lmao he’s a golden as well, best dog EVER!
Couple things: it is not a fact that they will be hypoallergenic. It depends on if they get more poodle than retriever in them, and even so does not guarantee this. Most important: they are extremely high maintenance dogs with regards to grooming. Combing daily/every other day is absolutely necessary as they matte easily. Couldn't be more wrong with this point and groomers will ultimately shave your dog (and hate you) when you bring them in matted. Source: owning a goldendoodle
Kevin Macaraeg you are so right , I am also a groomer, All Doodles need to be brushed then combed down to the skin at least 3 times weekly by the owner . No dog can be deemed completely non allergenic, not even a hairless breed of dog , its the protein in the skin dander that most people are allergic to, that is the reason it is so important the doodle is kept clean and mat free. I recommend a (gentle) de matting , bath and blow dry ideally every 2 to 3 weeks, especially if the longer coat is desired. Ear canals should be kept free of hair and dirt , flop eared dogs are very prone to yeast infections, usually caused by food allergies . They need at least a total of one hour walk daily to keep nails naturally the correct length , please don’t ask your groomer to wack of the nails short , thru the quick, which is brutally painful , just because you are not giving them enough exercise . Doodles are generally very sweet and loving if treated kindly , but they are definitely NOT low maintenance.
Kevin Macaraeg I was going to say the same exact thing! My dog requires daily grooming. He’s a lot of work when it comes to that. Just shampooing, conditioning and brushing and drying their coat can take up to 2+hours. And I have to shower him about every 2 weeks. He’s a great dog but requires lots of exercise or he gets destructive. They need constant supervision most of the time because left alone they get anxious and eat things/chew things they shouldn’t.
@@ISmokedUrHairyNugs Ya their coat is something else. Luckily my guy isn't destructive at all, even on extreme winter days where he doesn't get to go out. I suppose I'm also lucky that he doesn't need to be constantly supervised and is able to be on his own without getting into anything he shouldn't. I'll count my blessings haha
Agreed. I would NEVER consider my doodle low maintenance. Also he stated not a good watch dog. Mine lets me know if anything is around within a quarter mile. Lol. Love my doodle. 😃👍
Goldendoodles tend to have very sensitive stomaches as well. They need grooming everyday pretty much. Shaving the belly is sooooo helpful! They eat anything and everything.
Africa Turner mine use to get sick when she was a puppy but, she grew out of it. They DO NOT eat everything and anything. Mine as well as a few others I’ve met are very picky eaters. Mine weighs in between 54-56 lbs depending on the vet visit. The vet says her weight is perfect and not to worry as long as food is there and she’s hungry, she’ll eat. I’ve met well over 100 different types of doodles in Ohio thanks to a Facebook page I belong to and they are Amazing dogs as long as they have the right owners. Do your research there are different breeds hat are good for different people and lifestyles. A doodle may not be your cup of tea. They do need professional grooming as well as home grooming in between pro groomer visits. Definitely worth the effort though.
Golden doodles eat everything!!!!! Don’t leave them alone because when they get bigger they figure out that food comes from the counters and will put their paws on them. My golden doodle loooooves paper and blankets. Plus you have to brush them every day
Ahh reading all the comments makes me so much more excited about bringing my lil nugget home in 7 weeks 2 days from now lol I’ve been watching GD videos for months! Lol!! 4yr old son with allergies wants to name our pup Nugget! So excited
My family has had our golden doodle for nearly fifteen years and she's always been fairly low maintenance. As a puppy she only peed in the house about four times before she was completely house trained and wasn't overly hyper. It really does vary from dog to dog.
I've got two goldendoodle puppies. Luna and Bailey, Luna is more poodle as she's full of energy and east to train where Bailey is more chilled and lazy perfect for cuddles but they are great companion and lovely dogs to have around
I am honestly considering that name for my GD pup because I’m purchasing from a woman/family who’s last name is Bayley... buuut my baby wants to name her Nugget which is also fitting and cute + it’s his dog to name and grow up with lol
I had a male Golden Retriever named Elmo for 12 years that died of cancer a few months after my son was born,.. I have never had a female dog but Im getting her soon and looking forward to it
My friend has a golden doodle who is almost a perfect family dog. Very gentle, non-shedding, non-barking, cute looks. Just that he is of no use as a guard dog due to him being very friendly with anyone and everyone.
I have a Groodle he is so amazing he has high Energy and loves to rest also he does not shed and is so friendly with kids, family's and other dogs also he is very cheeky but in a cute way I really recommend buying one he is so cute and the best dog for everyone also he is easy to train.
I have a Goldendoodle. His name is Rufus. He is my angel and is the most gentle, caring, patient and loving boy you could ever wish to meet. They are incredible dogs and anyone who is lucky enough to have one in their life would say the same. Very good with children too.
So is mine. They are the best! Like angels on earth. After owning one I don’t think I’d ever get any other breed of dog than a Doodle of some sort. Your’s definitely sounds like a sweetie!
The only grooming I do to my goldendoodle is brush him 2 times a week because my Goldendoodles hair is so thick it gets matted if you don’t brush him a lot.
My F1 medium Goldendoodle is hypoallergenic and does not shed! He is not at all high maintenance and is the sweetest guy we’ve ever been blessed to have. The owners of his 11 siblings report the same and we periodically get together with a few of them for play dates. I groom him myself except for occasional nail clipping by the groomer. My husband was a longtime Golden Retriever parent and advocate. My family has had a variety of breeds. We both concur that our Grizzly is the best dog we’ve ever had.
The fact that he said they are low maintenance is a JOKE. Their fur is very complicated since its a mix between poodle and retriever fur which is completely different. The fur typically gets matted very easily especially in the rain or snow. Golden doodles need to be brushed at least once a week to prevent matting. Mine needs to be groomed every 2 months!
I have a Goldendoodle and he's the BEST fellow and friend there could ever BE! The good ole fellow knows sooooooooo many things. He knows more than most people. Genius level intelligence and the heart of Mother Teresa. He's the best fellow there could EVER BE!
@@personanon2879 I used to think that way until every single one of my purebred dogs had a hereditary illness. I’ll take a mixed dog any day so my heart isn’t broken when they’re 4 to 5 years old. The problem is purebred Breeders breeding one year old parents - before the diseases show symptoms.
@@AmandaMG6 that's why you should buy from reputable breeders that do generoc testing, not back yard breeders. Mixed breed dogs have an equal chance of developing hereditary problems as purebreds from untested lines
My sister has a goldendoodle and unfortunately not a good fit for her family. My sister has a newborn and a 2 year old and his huge goldendoodle (the standard poodle father was a huge poodle). She has a small house and doesn’t have a fenced in backyard. The dog is a female and she’s always been extremely hyper and very clingy to everyone. And unfortunately that’s a bad thing because this dog weighs a 100 pounds. She does the jumping on people thing when they walk in and when you sit down. I know it’s just been a bad decision on my sister’s part. She decided she wanted a dog soon after marrying and got this designer dog. But, it was not a good idea. Also my sister’s dog sheds year round and a lot. If you have allergies this dog isn’t for you. I never had allergies before but as I’m getting older I am getting allergies and man, I tell you it really can be a bother when there’s dog hair everywhere. I do love dogs but I recommend you really think long and hard about what you’re expecting as far as lifestyle and behavior of a dog. Because if you don’t want to spend hours every day walking and don’t have a fenced yard, then this is not the dog for you. Also if you have really little kids who need your full attention then this dog is probably not for you. They need lots of attention themselves and are high energy. So, keep that in mind. Don’t be like my sister who regrets it now.
I LOVE MY DOODLE! She is my very first dog and I'm so happy I got her. She definitely has to be brushed daily or every other day, but I see brushing her as bonding time so she doesn't mind and just relaxes. While my doodle looks more like a poodle, she still has a lot of undercoat that comes out when I brush her with a slicker brush. My husband has allergies to dogs, but he still got a light reaction to our doodle in the beginning. After taking Zyrtec for a while, he finally doesn't need to take it anymore. My doodle is also allergic to chicken, so the food allergy part of the vid is true. Doodles can also have issues with resource guarding if you don't train them (they will guard their favorite treats/people/toys and growl at you).
Every golden doodle is totally different from one another. My golden doodle sheds a TON, and she’s definitely more chill and not so energetic. She kinda does whatever she wants, without being too crazy. She’s a super good dog though, she’s still a puppy and she hasn’t chewed anything, and she’s only had like two accidents. I’m lucky I got such a well behaved puppo right from the start :))
I guess your pups got more of their golden retriever side and that's why they shed. My puppy is 12 weeks old and no shedding so far and she has tons of energy and all she wants to do is chew and chew on everything we are working on changing that but she is just lovely 😊😊 worth every penny.
Do not tell people these dogs are low maintenance and basically dont shed. My F1 sheds like a golden retriever and they require daily brushing because their fur gets matted very easily and I'm tired of seeing people giving up their doodles or leaving them matted because they think they dont shed and dont need to take care of them. And be prepared to pay at least 100 dollars per grooming visit that they need to go to at least every 3 months.
I’m getting a mini golden doodle! I’m so excited and I want to look at as many vids about them I can because I want to be prepared and make it an awesome home for him or her!!
My Goldendoodle specializes in nipping & biting, LOL! She's beautiful, 3months old and growing like a weed, but she won't stop nipping & biting!! I have her enrolled in puppy school, but it doesn't start for another 3weeks... I can't wait, LOL! I've had several Rottweiler puppies. They never bit like she does. I've tried everything. I realize she's a puppy, but this biting is just crazy. She has so much energy too. Does anyone else have trouble with their Gdoodle nipping & biting excessively? HELP.....
My guess is that your dog has grown out of that phase (judging by the date of your posting). Ours is now six months old and the chewing, biting and destruction has decreased significantly. It was a struggle though...
Things I do'nt agree with; 1) My Doodle is a fierce guard dog, 2) They are NOT low maintenance you must groom them or their hair will mat, 3) They ARE prone to ear infections....

My gd is going to be 50# or there about! He’s the absolute best dog EXCEPT for the digging in the yard! We are thinking of giving him a shave! I’ve tried and handed the blade to dad! He’s a big dog and we absolutely love him and our retriever mix girl is his play, ate! Oh, my gd also was born without a tail! He’s unique!
I can only speak on the experiences of my dog but they are low maintenance in certain aspects. She is a great couch potato partner and loves to cuddle, she will quite literally grab your hand with her paws and make you continue giving her belly rubs and ear scratches. 10/10 for a cuddle buddy. However, she gets stinky quite easily compared to my rat terrier mix. My other dog has a short coat, hardly needs a bath and have a wonderful ability to retain scents (if he snuggles in a freshly washed blanket he will smell like that blanket for days and the blanket doesn't stink of dog) my girlie however smells stinky a few hours after coming home from the groomers and NEEDS daily brushing and detangling to keep her coat nice. She has a golden retriever tail nice and big and poofy and a curly/wavy poodle coat that will mate within what seems like days. They do seem to have an even temperament and even though there are no small children in the house she loves to play with kids at the park and doesn't mind them pulling on her tail or hair (doesn't last too long anyways I always step in and stop them) she was easy to train compared to my rat terrier and is just a big goofy lovebug. If you are considering a golden goodle just prepare of daily grooming, lots of smiles, and a great cuddle partner. *Edit: forgot to mention but my dog seems to get ear infections really easily so if you bathe them at home be careful with the ears and try to keep the ears trimmed
Ninja Box my vet told me that the ear infections are common in a lot of floppy eared dogs. Archie hasn’t had any problems, but Gracie has had a couple. And you’re right. She is the one with more hair on the “ underside” of her ears. Keeping that hair trimmed helps to make sure you can keep the underside clean. It’s all that buildup of “gunk” that leads to infection.
Again do your research before making videos. Golden doodles do shed. The only type of doodle that does not shed is a double doodle also known as the F2 doodle. When you cross a golden with a poodle you’re going to have some shedding if not a lot. And I know this firsthand because I’m a professional groomer and I see doodles come in every day that are shedding and matted because their owners don’t think they need to brush them because they think they don’t shed but they do. People like you are the reason why this information is spread around incorrectly. Doodles actually shed worse than say just a pure bred golden. And that is because they usually have the undercoat of the golden or the Labrador and then the topcoat of the poodle so they get a lot of undercoat shedding which gets trapped due to top coat being coarse and then it goes unnoticed which builds up into extreme matting. Also a lot of shelters are filling up with noodles because of this incorrect fact that people keep spreading. People buy the dogs because they need a hypoallergenic dog and then they get home and realize the dog does shed and a lot of them end up having to be rehomed or turned into the shelter. If you are going to take time to make these videos you need to seriously double cross your facts before doing so. Stuff like this is the only way we can better our canine community.
Do you think he’s developing a drug habit? Is his personality been changing? Have you noticed money missing around the house? Sneaking out at night or hanging around new friends? These are all signs of addiction, get your dog the help he needs!
Our Harley passed on Christmas Eve 2017 and we still miss him dearly!!! I can't believe they were feeding that puppy ice cream!!! It's best not to feed them people food. We're looking for a mini goldendoodle that doesn't get any larger than 20-25 lbs. We are older and Harley was 70 pounds. We had to get help to lift him toward the end. You'll never regret getting a goldendoodle!!!! They are truly exceptional dogs!!!!
Get another I have a mini called Max. 8 months old. Doesnt shed , hypoallergenic ,easy to brush, groomer every 6 weeks. Hes 12 kg which is about 28lbs.
My doodle is only 3 months old, so I don’t know if that affects it, but she only needs brushes and baths once every week, will this get worse or stay the same?
Absolutely fine Mary. They’re really healthy. Just very greedy and will eat anything so have to keep an eye on their weight. Good luck with your quest!
We got a golden doodle a few weeks ago, he was a rescue and we just love him. He gets along great with our Yorkie. These dogs are really playful and have to have a lot of exercise. I am grooming him myself he has hair more like the golden retriever and easy to care for. I would not recommend this breed for elderly person unless they are physically active.
Glad you are adopting, but a golden-doodle is not a "breed'. The AKC agrees. They are a mix, just like every other mix at the shelter anf it rescues. But yet they are treated so much better.
My 14 year old groodle recently died. He was perfection personified. We spent every minute together. I have no idea how to live without him.

I would love to adopte a creamy golden doodle toy with wavy hair I love it....
My doodle sheds a ton too
I guess your pups got more of their golden retriever side and that's why they shed. My puppy is 12 weeks old and no shedding so far and she has tons of energy and all she wants to do is chew and chew on everything we are working on changing that but she is just lovely 😊😊 worth every penny.
Are they F1 or F1b?
Do not tell people these dogs are low maintenance and basically dont shed. My F1 sheds like a golden retriever and they require daily brushing because their fur gets matted very easily and I'm tired of seeing people giving up their doodles or leaving them matted because they think they dont shed and dont need to take care of them. And be prepared to pay at least 100 dollars per grooming visit that they need to go to at least every 3 months.
I’m getting a mini golden doodle! I’m so excited and I want to look at as many vids about them I can because I want to be prepared and make it an awesome home for him or her!!
Some of these are Aussie Doodles
I'm getting my first golden doodle today and I'm so excited to add him to our family . Thank you for your fun facts!
This is more of a sales pitch for golden doodles than it is fact. In fact.... most of these "facts" are wrong.

I would love one. I'm in Pittsburg- Northern Calif. Anyone know where or who I can contact fort one??
My gd is going to be 50# or there about! He’s the absolute best dog EXCEPT for the digging in the yard! We are thinking of giving him a shave! I’ve tried and handed the blade to dad! He’s a big dog and we absolutely love him and our retriever mix girl is his play, ate! Oh, my gd also was born without a tail! He’s unique!
Nice dog I want to go to the mountains with our family’s ram 1500 and my glock 19 for the holidays which is better Belgian or golden doodle
Mine weighs 93 pounds without any fat but he’s a little bigger than most but great vid
GDs are THE BEST DOGS IN THE WORLD! Please keep this a secret.
Let us know your favorite Goldendoodle trait in the comments!
This is a great channel with excellent content. Even the comments are great. Glad I found you last week!
This dog is a high maintenance dog
Isaac They are fantastic doggies
Crazy Canuck yes but you have to groom them daily it’s not a first time dog
@@Isaac-ed4lk Hark at the Oracle of all knowledge...
No dogs are hypoallergenic. I have dog allergies and have a goldendoodle. She gives me less allergies but still gives me some.
Wyatt Wilson It depends because some golden doodles shed and the others don’t which are good for people with allergies
hypoallergenic means less allergenic not completely non allergenic
My golden doodle is more couch potato then active. He really only wants to run around once a week then the rest of the day, he sleeps
Do you think he’s developing a drug habit? Is his personality been changing? Have you noticed money missing around the house? Sneaking out at night or hanging around new friends? These are all signs of addiction, get your dog the help he needs!
Clemson Hive OMG I never noticed the signs! My dog is a druggo!
We just got one at the shelter only one and a half years old she is the best dog so sweet and loving
My cousins own golden doodles and they are very different ones greedy and a snuggle bug and ones sweet gentle and also a snuggle bug
I have this puppy but my is black when he run he slips and my puppy name is cooper
@@barblee1733 I know he's precious and a joy to have!!!❤❤❤❤
I hate the way doodles look lol But that's because I hate the way poodles look so...
My dog cleans my floor if he sees anything thing he eats it
My golden doodle is actually my profile picture
I already have 2 and I love them!I recommend them!
Golden doodles are quite high maintenance. Mine needs to be brushed and combed every day or she gets matted.
My doodle is only 3 months old, so I don’t know if that affects it, but she only needs brushes and baths once every week, will this get worse or stay the same?
Oh yes I need a service dog and this looks like perfect one . Now to find one .how are thier hips
Absolutely fine Mary. They’re really healthy. Just very greedy and will eat anything so have to keep an eye on their weight. Good luck with your quest!
@@helenEgrant thank you
You would be paying around £3000 for a mutt
I had a goldendoodle named Belle. She was the best dog in the world. Rest in peace Belle 😢
May I ask what happened to her?
Is it available in India 🇮🇳 🇮🇳 🇮🇳 🇮🇳?
I have a standard size and he s like a dopey horse
How much this puppy
just bought one for $3,700 😭
This guys accent is annoying but good video
my family might move into a really big house, I'm considering to ask my mom to get a golden doodle
If she says maybe try to show her that you’re responsible so she would consider it more!
Avoid dairy: Dog eating ice cream 🍦 🤣
I have four toy breed golden doodles and I’m not mad about it
I have golden doodle and he is 8 moths and he is really big
DO NOT ONLY COMB THEIR FUR TWICE A MONTH HOLY SHIT
We got a golden doodle a few weeks ago, he was a rescue and we just love him. He gets along great with our Yorkie. These dogs are really playful and have to have a lot of exercise. I am grooming him myself he has hair more like the golden retriever and easy to care for. I would not recommend this breed for elderly person unless they are physically active.
How smart is he? I want to get this breed bc ik his parents are very intelligent
My golden doodle loves to cuddle and play soccer
can you do aussiedor next pleaseee!
This video neglected the amount of belly rubs they need per day. In my experience, it's hours worth.
And my golden doodle will be 100 pounds
Lmao my golden doodle is dumb asf
I’m getting a goldendoodle!!,
All dogs are 'designer dogs'
Very nice breed, hope to soon adopt one of these.
Glad you are adopting, but a golden-doodle is not a "breed'. The AKC agrees. They are a mix, just like every other mix at the shelter anf it rescues. But yet they are treated so much better.
I have a goldendoodle she is so adorable
I love them
