@@wacodraco1558 Bing didn’t support that, he was a good friend of Louis Armstrong and made sure he was treated and paid well whenever they entertained together. He also was asked once why he never tipped his black golf assistant and the black man said “he’s putting my son through college.”
Ahh, love Bing Crosby 😍 When I was high school girl, on Valentine's Day l wrote him love letter and burnt it on the roof. My aunt asked me why are you burning your love letter, not giving it to a boy who you like? I said to my aunt, I burnt it because a man who I love is in the heaven and I thought if I burn my love letter for him the ash could reach him and he could understand my feelings to him. At time I truly loved him, after watched White Xmas. I was just 17 years old I believe...
Definitely, and Sinatra wanted to be like Crosby, but ironically he was super far from that soft crooning. In my opinion, it'd be: Al Bowlly Lee Morse Bing Crosby Ruth Etting Dean Martin Frank Sinatra Ella Fitzgerald *ABISM* Louis Armstrong
Actually, this is from a special "GENERAL ELECTRIC THEATER" telecast in January 1954; the first of two filmed "BING CROSBY SHOW" specials that season [at that time, Bing appeared on radio for G.E. on CBS Sunday nights {8pm(et)}, and they wanted him to appear on TV as well, but he didn't want to go on "live"- they finally allowed him to film two half-hours before they parted company at the end of that season]. Note the "CBS curtain"...
Bing and Frank were the two greatest singers of the 20th century. I enjoyed the other singers mentioned here also. Ella was the greatest female singer in my opinion.
@HeardThatSongBefore Good Statements. You should listen to Don Cornell, (he's one of my favorites for a big voice crooner)... Listen to his Be Fair of 1952 (its on RUclips) big voice in that one.
Wow simply the best ever !!

How beautiful - Bing Crosby and Buddy Cole - It doesn't get any better than this! DMM

Fantastic. Bing and Buddy are perfect together.
Seemingly effortless perfection.
What would I give to go back in time just to see Bing perform live...
Lol I’d like to too but being Black means there’s a gamble on a “Whites Only” sign

FABOULOUS ENTERTAINER 🌟
2018 HIS SONGS ARE SO GOOD 🎵
Edwin Lamarr "Buddy" Cole was a great keyboard technician and all around pianist/organist. A great talent!
Reminds me a lot of my favorite pianist, Nat King Cole.

Perry Como, Al Bowlly and naturally Dean Martin must be included.
Billie Holiday ist the greatest female vocalist.
@LDis1 Don Cornell is very good, especially his version of I;m Yours.
@HeardThatSongBefore
What about Perry Como?

Can someone clarify if the strings are coming from off camera, or is this whole thing lip synced to a prerecorded track?
It was pre recorded
@HeardThatSongBefore
Dick Haymes is just as good as Bing.
