Snowballs: Must hit anything other than the warden itself. Carpet and wool make it where you aren't as heard as much. And I'm pretty sure if you make a Soul Sand circle and light it, you can trap the warden into it.
Im gonna place this here for reference, how much you need to kill the warden (when i tested): 32 arrows from a power 5 bow 27 arrows if each one of those arrows is an instant damage 2 one (they're kinda like potion arrows) 30 netherite sword attacks under the effects of a strength 2 potion, with each hit charged and the sword having sharpness 5 and sweeping edge 3 As for taking damage. I have fully enchanted netherite armor (protection V and lots of maxed stuff) and the sonic shriek from the warden still cut more than half of my HP Yea, good luck lol
Well if you want to get a least one interesting thing out of the ancient city, there is a disk you can get. A disc that does not play music, but rather tells a story in a sense. In each of the chests there is a disk fragment, get all 9 of them and piece them together in a crafting table. You will get disc 5, then put it in a jukebox.
the weirdest part of it is the sound of a portal but theres no portal in the city makes me think there was something more planned that got deyaled perhaps a new dimension or atleast a new biome only reachable threw the giant Deepslate gate in the center of ancient citys.

Recently watch a video someone did on the origin of warden and they mentioned in ancient times a wither got into "the city" after it followed an ancient miner and the ancients made a portal which would be where the sculk came and in time a warden came and killed the wither. The ancients worshipped for awhile until they began to get slaughtered. So basically the sculk and warden are an invasive species. Part of the video dove into the disc mentioned.

Some facts about the warden, once it raises there’s a 60 second timer for it to clam down and leave so the best thing to do is be as far away from it and to also not make any noises that comes from the player but if someone makes noises and the warden hears it it restarts the timer and begins getting angry. Also if it decides to use it’s sonic beam it can only hit one target if something was in front of it. Armor is somewhat useful if it’s enchanted with protection but other than that your a goner. (Warden ignores flapping bats, the death of a player, and other wardens)
The warden can still smell you even if you stand still, but if you throw an awkward potion of lingering at it or drink one, the potion will actually muffle it's ability to smell you for a while, there isn't any indication that shows the potion works except when the warden sniffs around, it won't notice you. Add that with you being careful as to not make noise and your completely invisible to it for a short while, though the noise made by the potions through drinking or throwing them will definitely make noise but if you pre throw the lingering potion before the warden is around you and if it walks into it then your safe from it smelling you. also the snowballs do work, it just doesn't work if you throw it at his face and piss him off, be sure to also *not hit* the warden with the lingering potion either, throw it away so that when it smashes and makes noise, it will check the sound out and walk into the potion, luring it away and muffling it's smelling senses.
Also the giant rectangle thing in the ancient city is actually a portal !! Its pretty cool once you light it. I don't remember how to do that though. But i've seen others do it
Fun fact if you obtain a bell from a village make a redstone contraption which makes the bell constantly ring multi times which lures the warden over distracting it for awhile.

Just some notes, use the snowballs to distract the Warden, but not at the Warden. Even with Netherite Armor, the Warden does 6 hearts, so it’s better to leave the warden alone. The red stone contraption u saw is part of the Minecraft lore and not a puzzle. The Darkness effect comes from the Warden and cannot be cured by milk, and last thing is to NOT put a sculker screamer as decoration because it will spawn a warden in ur house (but is an amazing idea for a prank on Moo or Tyler)
Snow balls will help you to distract the warden. Sneak when you throw the snow balls because if not, it will instead know that you are the one who is throwing the snowball. It follows where the snowballs will land and that will lure away the warden from you letting you to escape from the warden. Also don't spam the snowballs because it will annoy the warden, you should throw the snowball at least every 5 seconds. Hope this helps :)
im 2 days late but, the *WARDEN* is not meant to be killed and meant to be avoid, and there's 3 new things you can get from the Ancient City, those are: Swift Sneak enchantment (will make you faster while sneaking) Music Disc 5 (Music Disc Fragments and has to be Crafted) and Recovery Compass (leads you to where you last died and has to be crafted with echo shards surrounding a Compass)

open the secret entrance, you need to get the golden apple or golden carrot inside the chest in the center of the portal-like structure first. Next, stand near the secret entrance and eat the golden apple. This will trigger the Sculk Sensor nearby and will open the secret entrance for you.

If ya have protection 4 all netherite, with a max strength potion, sharpness 5 or smite 5, depending if hes counted as undead or not, have max turtle master potion with a enchanted golden Apple, you can crit him to death and live
Yeah the only way to escape the warden is if you have wool to walk on, but crouch while placing it or you’ll make noise, get a shit ton of snowballs to distract it, and also attempt to get the new enchant swift sneak, which allows you to sneak at walking speed. Otherwise your best bet is to run back to your exit fast.

I'm going to tell you a few ways to kill him. Flowing water and a strong sword, If you have regen you could survive 3 sonic booms. Sacrifice a friend to him. If they are chasing a player, you can hit the warden but he won't care until his target is dead.
The Warden is supposed to be a force of nature and isn’t meant to be killed which is why it drops a single catalyst and explains why it’s basically impossible to kill
I went into creative to test the Warden's strength, and I put it up against a Wither... The Warden won by a long shot. So the lesson is, avoiding it is the way to go
Once the Warden gets aggro'd and is chasing you, the snowballs don't work. Snowballs are only for moving the Warden away from you so you can sneak passed
