Good work IBPC! This show is funny enough to be funny when watching with subtitles (and that says a lot!). Making flawless subtitles takes a lot of work and skill. This show is not only funny, but it helps foreign audiences understand Israeli culture. I believe a culture is strong when it embraces self satire. Also, the show is educational. I didn’t know about Shabtai Zvi until I watched this episode.

From 12:07 until 15:52 is a criticism about the corruption and dirty bureaucracy of Israel's current rabbinate how it treats women in cases of divorce or widowhood.
Or the fact that in the Torah and Talmud it discusses the extensive and exhausting procedures widows had to endure just to be allowed to remarry (because you need the husbands permission to emd the marriage). There is a whole drasha about what steps a widow has to take if her husband is lost at sea or in war.
Women rights in Israel are way too high & unbalanced with man rights. There are high rates of men suicide divorce/traumas from army service, plenty of men rights organizations with empathic lawyers who went through many cases of discrimination against men. You make no sense sir.
@יובל מוזס Hitzhakta oti, guever.... The entire program in all its seasons uses the past to criticize the present, from the Jewish religious world to the Israeli politics. What is the logic of "criticizing the old world
@Youthoob Gamer it's true that a big part of israel is secular, but another big part are religious people. The rabbinate are controlling a part of a minority in israel that are extremely religious people and unfortunately have a lot of power in the country as they are the deciding vote for some political parties
I like how the State-run channel has to put a disclaimer up. You'd think, if they're cool with broadcasting it, the viewing public would fall in line behind them.
This show is very very contrevertial in israel. Most secular people love this show but a lot of religious people in israel think it's disgraceful and offensive
They put a disclaimer and show it anyway, so it's our gain. By the way, it doesn't annoy only religious people, they're killing sacred cows of all sorts.
Come ooooon seriously? Just upload your content without hard subs and add soft subs as needed. You do it just fine with your short videos (כאן סקרנים and all that), there’s no reason not to do it with longer stuff (as a matter of fact you did just that with the ‘Tzarfokaim’ miniseries). You can add a whole of a lot more languages and make corrections if needed. Also, you didn’t point out what episode that is, only the season. Seriously?
Okay man, as much as I'd love to just buy a DVD of this in English let's face some facts here. Fact 1. Project with no adverts. Fact 2. Project made in other language for domestic audience. Fact 3. They still make a lot of their content available for free and translate parts of it. While your criticism is O K the way you put it forward is very arrogant.
Hey in the end this series speaking about thing of happing in israel like the damn rape they didn't make joke out of him and the commantments they talk about rape and no metter what this is forbbiden
what makes things humorous is the absurdity, the leap from reality to the outside. What makes stuff like this about Jews potentially funny for some, is insulting to others, who understand these are arguments and depictions used by those who have contemptuous, bigoted views of Jews and Judaism, so there is not enough of a distance, a leap, to make it funny. It's like someone wearing blackface, which is not viewed offensively, unless you are black. Or someone ridiculing the Pope if you are Catholic. I find the writing very "good," some of it is funny, but it's clearly done by Left wing Jews who have an axe to grind, and are pandering to those with unconscious and conscious negative views of Jews. So much of this today by the Left and Right, not enough distance to make it funny and decent. bk
@@mssucks3462tommy You have me wrong, I believe. I am all for humor, but when it's during a time of such a rise in anti Jew feeling throughout the world, and in the US, it's harder to laugh. It's like the comedians who poked fun at the 9-1-1 tragedy too soon after it happened. There has to be some distance and trust to make fun of things that are absurd. Comedy is based on a leap, a jump. I am not so sure the people who produced this stuff, or those who laugh at it, are all that cool with their own identities as Jews. We have different ways of dealing with our emotions. Richard Pryor used to use the word " n-----" all the time in his shows. He said when he went to Africa for the first time, it blew him away because, " I didn't see one n-----." After this he stopped using the word. I've known many Jews who had, like myself, a good sense of humor, and could tell Jew jokes., and listen to others tell them. However, it takes some trust that you know where the other person is coming from, and the context at the time. A steady died, an ongoing program ridiculing Jews based on tropes and stereotypes, over and over again ? What purpose is being served, and who is being served, within the context of our times ? Saying I don't have a sense of humor and should chill, ends any conversation. Don't look at it, lighten up. No, my sense of the times and my own identity doesn't permit that.
It's mostly left wing, but they try and poke both sides every once in a while. And yeah, it wouldn't be funny for a person who doesn't feel involved (especially politically and historically, rather than religiously)
The show was made for Israeli audiences, not American (even Jewish American) ones. Trust me when I say that what you're complaining about is mostly cultural differences.
