- This is a walk around The Norwegian Jade cruise ship from Norwegian Cruise Lines. Refurbished in 2022, Built in 2006, it was originally for the Hawaii market and some of the decor still shows this. We loved our cruise on the Jade. The staff was fantastic!

@@TravelswithVandSteve I'm still eager to find out what other selections the Great Outdoors had because I'm going on the Jade back to back in January so I wanted to get an idea.
@@BNSF36542 The Great Outdoors is a small buffet area with some of the same things you can find on the buffet but sometimes it's a bit less crowded. There is also a drink area, also sometimes less crowded.
Looks like a lot of sports areas that weren’t mentioned- Tennis court or Pickleball?

I've been on the Pearl and it's very similar! Loved it. Can't wait to go on the Jade.
I really liked the Jade and my sister and I were on her for a month so had plenty of time to find faults, but enjoyed every minute! We haven't been on the Pearl but sounds like I'd like it too. Thanks so much for watching.

Our First cruise was on The Pride Of Hawaii, aka Jade. We always look back on it fondly. Looking forward to sailing on it again soon.

I hope you all have a GREAT time! You'll enjoy the ship. I'm jealous you are going to turkey. My sister and I (V) did a Greece and Turkey cruise but regulations at the time (cruising had just restarted) meant we couldn't go to Turkey! So we need to try again. Enjoy!!!

Thanks for a cheery look around our first, and favourite, NCL ship. I loved the dramatic skies near the end, and nice one on being so considerate about filming folk. I do hope they don’t replace La Cucina with Onda By Scarpetta, the traditional Italian is so much better than the truffle oil-obsessed newbie. Mind, my fave eatery remains O’Sheehans - if you ever re-edit this film, you might quickly mention what the concept is, 24-hour diner stuff and all that. Cheers!
I agree, I hope they don't replace La Cucina, my sister and I both loved it! We also love O'Sheehans. That's a great idea to explain what it is - I usually try to show menus to give people some idea. I'll remember that! Thanks.

Was on the Jade in 2008 out of Barcelona. Going again out of Tampa in Nov. 14 days Eastern Carribean. Both trips in the Haven.

@@FaithGoshay-v4d I've never been to Jerusalem but I'm guessing you meed to dress modestly so shoulders and knees covered. I would pack a scarf just in case you need to cover your head. I usually take one with me, just in case.

Does this ship have the ability to close the top over the pool for cold weather in Alaska?
No it doesn't. I took an NCL cruise to Alaska in June years ago and we sat outside for breakfast every morning it was so mild. When it's cooler, the observation lounge is a good indoor space to sit and watch things. Most ships have an indoor pool too. Hope this helps!
Do you feel a lot of NCL 'Epic' vibes on this ship? For some reason I do, but maybe it's because they were built within a couple years of one another. Beautiful ship to be sure, and so is the Epic!
You are right! My sister and I were on the Epic a year before we were on the Jade and they are very similar. I liked both ships too! They offer a lot of the same things, too. Thanks so much for watching!
Funny you mentioned cigars. Here in South Florida it’s so common. I mentioned to Mark once on the interstate that it’s the only place I see people smoking cigars in their cars. Anyway this ship is amazing!!!!! Just beautiful!!! You did a spectacular job on giving a tour!!!

Yes, it was one of my favourite places on the ship. It's by the customer services area.

@@TravelswithVandSteve hi i’m Dan, a 14yr old from Connecticut. the Jade itself was very boring compared to other cruises they have these days. But locations and the excursions were amazing and I definitely had a blast visiting three countries in nine days; Greece, Türkiye, and Cyprus. Very sad Israel got canceled. But it got replaced with Santorini and Crete, which was amazing.

@@TravelswithVandSteve absolutely and I had the best short excursions for both. When I went to Santorini, we got to break plates. And when I went to Crete, we got to drive down to a little village that had a bunch of cool stuff.

The Spinnaker Lounge has floor to ceiling windows and can be used as the observation lounge.

No, it's not listing in the photo or the video. Did it look like it was?
Just (as in got off the boat yesterday morning) completed a Greek Islands tour on the Jade. It was.....OK.......Food was.....meh, even in Cagneys ande the supposedly high end places. O'Sheehan's was probably the best bang for the buck. Rooms were super tiny...Bathroom was soooo small....Seriously, I'm 6,2 and taking a poop was difficult because there was almost no extra room in the toilet compartment. You had to pay for interenet and that was pretty spotty at the best of times. The onboard messaging system to keep in contact with other people in your tour was a joke; I spent more time trying to get it fixed than I did actually using it.
There was supposedly this rule that you couldn't leave towels on deck chairs for the entire day unattended, something that was supposed to be enforced but never was.
Very few of the staff spoke English well enough and the entire thing just seemed low-rent.
It sounds like your experience was very different to mine. We were on this ship for a month and made friends with a lot of the staff and nearly everyone spoke English. On nearly all cruises I've been on, the bathrooms are tiny and the wifi is not great, so I can understand that! Do you cruise often? Is their a line you like? That Spinnaker pronunciation was close
I pronounced it the way they did in the morning talks where they discuss the activities for the day. How is it pronounced? (If you think that's bad...I'm headed to Iceland soon....no way will I get those pronunciations right!)

NCL is ok, but Royal is better. There isn't really nothing to do inside. NCL needs to make it more attractive to passage to have fun.
I haven't been on Royal but have been looking at some of their amazing ships. My sister and I (and Steve and I) usually just cruise for the itinerary so it doesn't bother us if there is less to do but I'll have to try Royal one of these days. Thanks for watching.

We just got off the Jade's 14 night cruise around the Caribbean and I can't warn people away from this cruise hard enough. Boring, poorly laid out, and the dining options are terrible.
Sorry to hear that and appreciate your opinion. After my sister and I were o the Jade, we were on a cruise with no specialty dining at all and limited things to do so we enjoyed this ship.
