Corie and Austin's new home is really taking on the appearance of a home, thanks to a lot of effort by a dedicated "setting up" team. That AC installation appeared to be a MAJOR project, and the finished setup will definitely earn its keep. Matt and Tipper are absolutely heaven sent when it comes to getting the new place ready to live in. Have to acknowledge Katie, of course, for providing both advice and humor. Kudos to Matt's unnamed AC co-installer, too. Go, team!
Nice! The best thing about these units is they will help take the moisture out of the air which will make it more comfortable in the house in both warm and cool temps.
If you're going to lay out any flower or gardening beds the boxes are good to lay out to block the light from the grass and weeds to prepare a space for a bed. If you cover them with mulch, weed seeds will sprout under the cardboard on any warm day and then die without the light so that in the Spring when you want to plant you won't have a passel of weeds coming up. The cardboard will just rot and return nutrients to the soil from the trees they came from originally.

The new light looks great. I know you are planning to paint your kitchen cabinets, but I love them. If you want them just a little different, you can glaze right over paint and it is quick and much easier that sanding and painting.

Nice house guys.... as someone who spent several decades in law enforcement- I would reccomend that you move your your door sensors to the inside of your house.
We have same brand security alarm and yes, the law enforcement officer is absolutely correct. Put all your door / window sensors on the inside to keep from being tampered with. The simply safe works well but is not a substitute for a firearm… Congratulations on the engagement, home and the AC!! ❄️

Good choice, uses less electric than central air, and so quite. Take it from Arizona resident that pays over $350.00 a month to run central air in the 4 or 5 months of the year I have to use it. I'm putting a minis-split in my RV, lol. Thanks for sharing.

I grew up in a house without central AC. I slept in a room without AC for about 8 years then I got a window unit, but only had it on fir sleeping at night. It wasn't until I got my first house in 93 that I had a central AC. We still like fresh air and open the windows when the weather is nice though.
FYI as you all gain in RUclips popularity, you will inevitably get some haters and some wackos/stalkers. The security system is good start. Keep your senses about you. Being comfortable with firearms and maintaining a concealed carry permitt is highly suggested. A woman that gave up her beach life for remodeling an old farmhouse and living off her land (my husband follows her YT) just went through a a mess with a stalker. Not trying to scare you, just trying to give you some info that you may not have thought about. Many blessings to you and Austin your house is becoming a cozy home. 💜

I would have put the exterior door sensor on the inside if it was mine so the burglar couldn't take off both parts together and not sound the alarm. Other than that things are looking good! My door has a Ruger sticker on it.
It’s actually on the inside of the screen door that locks from the inside, but probably wouldn’t hurt to move it. I didn’t wanna say in the video but our main security is definitely the shotgun by the bed lol!

What a nice end table & those sweet plates! I like that floor lamp, just the right height. That A/C is better than central air & will hopefully cut down on humidity. Nothing better than getting air conditioning. I love the mini splits that I have in my home. They work great in the summer and winter too. They are also easy on the power bill. I've had mine for 11years now and never a problem out of them either. Corie, what are some of the main things that y'all need, but don't have? It’s coming along! We have moved twice… and each time the unpacking and decorating and placing everything where we (I) want it to go! Putting down liners and rugs and hanging curtain rods and curtain and placing lamps for the kind of lighting I want for each room! I have a mini-split. It is GREAT for cooling, but sucks for heating. In the South, that will work just fine. :) SO MUCH FUN MOVING INTO YOUR FIRST HOUSE!!!
@@thepressleygirls I live where it gets 27 below 0 (without wind) or 40 below with wind for a couple weeks each winter. The mini splits work fine keeping things cool but I have to supplement with another pre-existing wall heater and my baseboards for that month...plus fleece blankets and PJ's. LoL. It really helps that I added cellular shades to the windows for both the heating and cooling. They made a big difference.

Up here there are places to go to pan for all kinds of stuff..rocks, agate and all kinds of stuff. I have 2 buckets of rocks and precious jewels.

Contain the sheetrock dust with your vaccum cleaner wand if you have one, or shopvac.
Mini splits are the way to go, because you have no ductwork, which is inefficient.
I have a mini-split. It is GREAT for cooling, but sucks for heating. In the South, that will work just fine. :) SO MUCH FUN MOVING INTO YOUR FIRST HOUSE!!!

@@thepressleygirls I live where it gets 27 below 0 (without wind) or 40 below with wind for a couple weeks each winter. The mini splits work fine keeping things cool but I have to supplement with another pre-existing wall heater and my baseboards for that month...plus fleece blankets and PJ's. LoL. It really helps that I added cellular shades to the windows for both the heating and cooling. They made a big difference.
