  • My first used log truck, but isn't going to stay one. I plan to put a 5th plate on this and use it to tow my trailer at some point in time. It was my first time driving a quad box when i brought it home, and the tach didn't work so it had a little bit of a learning curve. But after about 3 hours I was getting pretty good at it. It's going to be a great truck when I get all the bugs worked out

    Great find! You get those two sicks down, and you'll never get excited about an air shift transmission again! Thanks for sharing! oh ya.........what a great way to drive through the Yakima Canyon!

      I wish I knew Steve. The gent I bought it off of said he left the pup. It's probably still sitting in the weeds where it was left 20+ years ago

    Congrats on the new ride! Those needle nose KW's are staples of the logging industry in the Northwest...that's where the KW company started as a matter of fact. Looks like a pretty solid survivor of a truck too. Should make a great toy hauler once you get a 5th wheel on it. How difficult was it to learn the 4x4 shift pattern?

      Wasnt too hard once I figured out where the splits were (once I got the tach working that helped exponentially). The main box split is a tough one as the gap is 700 rpm. Very easy to rush that shift. After about 3 hours, i was doing pretty good.

    Cool truck! Too bad that you didn’t buy it to haul logs with. Or turn it into a dump truck. But either I would be putting this truck back to work daily!

    Do you think it’s gonna be hard to put a fifth plate on it?

    • @reeseholler92
      @reeseholler92  2 года назад

      No, its got the air lines already for the pup trailer so it'll be a matter of pulling the bunks and putting a plate on the frame

    Would it have come with those wheels?

      I believe so. They're steel split ring, so from that era at least.
