It works better when I watch the clip - got the same feeling with the original Closed Eyes edit. It's a weird nostalgia about life - like feeling how much life is beautiful yet so short because of the quick edit, making us remember at the same time that nothing is everlasting. It's the saddest yet most forward-driving feeling, like a will to live. Really, I can't describe this feeling. 🤍

Dear DVRST,
on the day you released this video I decided to end my life. I had backed myself into the darkest corner of my life so far, stopped doing anything I usually found comfort in and didn't speak to anyone. During my stay in the mental ward of the hospital I found this song and cried uncontrollably while I listened to it again and again. I had so much to loose and I had to get back up on my feet again. I want to be able to look at my life like this video, filled with wondeful and breathtaking things I have seen and experienced, glad to be a little old lady while my grandkids try to figure out what the fuck an mp4 file is.

Каждый раз, когда я натыкаюсь на этот трек в своем плейлисте, испытываю те же самые, настоящие эмоции, которые испытала при прослушивании в первый раз. Трек буквально заставляет остановится и не переключать дальше. Иногда, когда чувствую себя не очень хорошо, просто включаю его и... во мне просыпаются необъяснимые эмоции и чувства, как будто что-то заставляет двигаться дальше. Перед глазами мелькают прошедшие и, что самое интересное и удивительное, те моменты, которых даже не было в моей жизни. Что могу сказать о клипе, так он хорош. Идеально подходит к треку, больше слов нет. Жизнь - момент. Спасибо вам за такой прекрасный трек, за ваше творчество. Продолжайте в том же духе, удачи вам!

Я тоже поделюсь своей ситуацией. Я живу в основном ночной жизнью (сова). Я люблю выходить ночью часов в 4-5, когда вокруг нет ни людей, ни машин, и просто идти по улице. Обычно я иду в круглосуточный магазин просто чтобы купить шоколадку, но не так важно. Во время этих самых прогулок я слушаю разные песни, но DVRST в приоритете. Так вот, его треки очень завораживающие... я даже не знаю как это описать, я словно теряюсь в реальности и на время оказываюсь в другом воображаемом месте. Пустота на улице + хорошие наушники + мелодичный фонк добавляют краски в мою жизнь. В общем, я тоже люблю его творчество)

I first found this song walking home from the train after work one day while I had Spotifys Phonk playlist on shuffle. It was a pretty mundane day, I was in auto pilot just trying to be happy on days like that.
Suddenly I ran into my girlfriend. She worked different hours each week, so it was pretty rare for us to run into each other in the middle of the city like this. We spoke briefly, then continued our journeys. We kissed and as I started walking again this song started. It felt like I was placed in another world. The rush of emotions I experienced.
Unfortunately, that event occurred 5 months ago and we broke up a couple months ago, a week before I was sent on deployment in the Navy. My life was turned on it's head since we went our separate ways. However, I always find myself coming back to this song. Even though she felt like my reason to live at the time. I've began to find so much more in life that gets me up everyday. When I was younger, I always used to do outdoorsy sports; mountainbiking, dirtbiking, downhill longboarding, snowboarding. You fuckin name it, I'd probably tried it. Since I joined the Navy, I lost so many hobbies, lied to myself and others that I was truly happy.
But now; since I've felt the loneliest I ever have in my life. This song has become more than just a song. It's motivation, what it embodies gets me up. And honestly, I'm starting to feel happy again.
