Just to say we did this today on our T5 following your video and it’s now working perfectly, thanks for doing the video, gave us the confidence to do it
Thank god I found this I wouldn't have had a clue ... my control just spins and doesn't adjust the air flow to anywhere , I think it's stuck in no man's land 🙃
Legend Thanks for the vid. 👏👏👍 I found the bottom wire and where it joins the solid metal piece. It was bent. F knows how this even happens behind a closed dashboard. Haha. Cheers 😎
Richie C I know right! Massive design flaw. But the tweet is still going strong on mine, just remember not to turn it clock wise from the screen setting down to the front blowing vents as it will probably kink again
@@RustyNLC in my 2008 T5 cab chassis. (Here in Aus) There is no way for the dial to move from 12oclock to 3oclock in a clockwise direction. I can only go from 12oclock to 9oclock to 6oclock to 3oclock and back again. Not sure how the other model are setup with the dial. It's madness the bloody things gets bent.. Happy it's fixed now anyway. Cheers
Good video bud. Can I just give a Word of warning ⚠️ don’t turn your ignition on while the airbag warning light is unplugged on dash trim as it will throw up a fault light which needs resetting via a obd tool
Thanks for the comment bud, I’m a mechanic/mot tester by trade, with access to vcds, and other diagnostic tools, but yeah your right disconnected with the ignition on it can throw up an airbag fault, it’s probably also worth mentioning that the plug you see disconnected is for the ASR (traction control) button ;)
Thanks for the video mate, exactly what I've been looking for as the heater on mine only works on the window setting so this may be exactly tge issue. Also the heater only works on 4 none of tge others, could thus be a similar issue?. Much appreciated
The direction control issue is more than likely the cable fault, as for the speed control issue this may very well be an issue with your heater resister. Quiet common for the resisters to fail on all vehicle makes and models of vehicles
Obviously a common fault because mine has started messing about on my 55 plate T5. Thanks for the video

Fantastic to hear the positive feedback! And well done for giving it a go 👍🏻

Is there a wire conversion insted of cable which bends as in your video thanks tony
Hi, Yes the new replacement cables are solid, as opposed to wire,
